[Open] Morning Training! - February 16th

Description: Every morning in the city, Morning Training takes place to prepare the guests of the city for the war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on February 16th.

[There is no telling why or how, but your character has suddenly acquired one very tall and silent shadow of the godly kind in the shape of a good 2m tall chimera who has yet to be coaxed into wearing clothes for longer than absolutely necessary.

Hades doesn't say anything, but he is ignoring things like personal space with the haughty arrogance that is so very typical for his kind and as the god of the dead, he knows how to be silent very LOUD.]

[qilby doesn't need to look up from his book to know who's standing behind him, radiating unease behind him the way hades seemingly can. he goes ahead and plays a silent game of chicken for as long as he can manage, but the god's overwhelming quietude eventually proves too much and he just has to speak.]

Hello, Hades, it's certainly been a while. I'm glad to see you well and alive.

["see" is a bit of a strong word, seeing how he hasn't yet looked around to actually face him. qilby's not sure he wants to now; in retrospect that wasn't the wisest way to start the conversation considering how their last one ended off.]

Hmph. [There is a soft rustling of undefined nature and then Hades is sitting next to Qilby.]

'Well' is a relative term, especially when combined with me and the word 'alive'.

[ah, well, at least they're still on speaking terms. that must count for something.

he half-turns, regarding hades. smiling, even. but he's learning, you know -- he knows now that his smiles and platitudes are wasted on this one, perhaps even doing more harm than anything else. he'll just have to do his best to adjust his manner accordingly, but this god isn't charmed like anyone else he's had to deal with before.]

Point taken. In that case, I'm glad to see you're still finding ways to entertain yourself. [a pause, a raised brow.] I hope?

[He tends to leave holding grudges to people who care.

He returns the smile, making it look puppet-like. There's a glitter in his dark eyes.]

I do. It is intriguing to see what kind of things get caught when you just drag your hair over the ground long enough.

[huh? qilby glances down... and looks back up at hades. looks down. then back to his book, seeking sanctuary.

goddess, he'd almost forgotten exactly how weird this guy was.]

That's certainly one way of picking up spare change. [he manages, just barely, to keep a straight face.] But intriguing as your catches can be, have you ever considered investing in a hair tie? Anything? [they work on beards too!]

[It makes more sense if one knows that he latest acquaintance likes to abuse his hair as a handle. Unfortunately Hades is one of those guys who think that context is for the weak.

His expression pretty much reads 'Yeah, no' at the suggestion.]

But you can just tie it back up again when it-- [oh no, he's not exchanging beauty tips with hades. qilby cuts himself off, wishing he had a free hand with which to facepalm.] Ah, well, on your own head be it... Literally, even.

[he needs a change of subject, quick. searching helplessly for one for a moment, he finally lands on--] You haven't caught a meister in your mane, have you?

[He huffs slightly - he has already a holy mess of horns and feathers on his head besides his hair, adding ribbons to it is the last thing he intends to do - before his expression turns once again into a smile.

One of those where he would be licking the last rests of cream from his lips if he were a cat.]

[Hades ignoring things like personal space is perfectly fine when the target is an ex-serial killer who also has difficulty with things like personal space (as well as not dripping blood everywhere, apologizing, knocking on doors, etc etc).

Sai had turned around the moment he noticed someone standing behind him then he had looked up and up until he saw the horns on Hades's head. His eyes had widened then and his mouth had almost immediately stretched into a smile as he reached up to touch the horns.]

[Hades had picked out the mortal whom he had followed on a whim, feeling like taking a chance with a new face from time to time would be right.

He was expecting many things when the boy sensed his presence and finally reacted to him, but having him try to touch him belonged to the less anticipated options.

He doesn't step back, but straightens and holds his head a bit higher, out of Sai's reach.]

Hmph.

[That's cheating, Hades. And Sai's face shows just how disappointed he is in your cheating. (Very, very disappointed.)]

[Rules are meant to be sidestepped or broken, little one. All except those that are his.

He gives him a look that is clearly 'not impressed'.]

[His expression turns amused at those words.]

[He steps pointedly back because, god or not, he is barefoot and Sai's jumping is a danger for his toes that is just waiting to happen.]

Why? [he sounds just a tad bit unnerved. Will you stop that?]

[While in the middle of his own training, Kratos feels someone watching him and possibly a bit too nearby for his own personal comfort. That near unbearably loud silence is a clear indicator of who this presence belongs do. He doesn't pause in his movements as he speaks.]

You're unaware of proper etiquette in addition to common sense, I take it? [No spite or anything in his voice can be heard. It's just a normal question.]

[He makes a small amused noise and doesn't step back.]

Etiquette change with the times and few people ever try to lecture a god on them.

[Somehow the continued lack of personal space doesn't surprise him, but it doesn't get him to stop what he's doing either.]

[He stops, looking genuinely puzzled for once.]

Why would you want to put effort into that?

[Although his face doesn't show it, he takes a small amount of satisfaction in gaining that sort of a look from Hades.]

Because that, in addition to common sense, is necessary to be aware of when living among mortal beings.

I do not intent to live amongst them. [Seriously, that is way too close to actually getting attached. For a god like him, it's NOT a good idea.]

You interact with them on a near daily, if not daily, basis. That is enough to warrant gaining a basic understanding of both those concepts. [Kratos is determined to give this sort of a lesson. Avoiding innocent kids getting dragged on a field trip to an enemy base again is kinda an important thing.]

[Because he is a god he does not pout at him. But the temptation to make that kind of face sure is there.]

You are comparing this to that. [He would point out that most mortals knows near nothing about things they interact with on a daily basis, like microbiology or the finer workings of most commonly used pieces of technology, but he has the feeling Kratos would just ignore that argument.]
