Description: Every morning in the city, Morning Training takes place to prepare the guests of the city for the war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on February 16th.

SORRY FOR THE LATENESS but Tenten-sensei wishes to teach!!

That's terrible form to be striking someone with! [ She could kill you like, twenty times over, in a real fight! Gosh! ] Just where did you learn how to strike someone!? [ She's judging you so hard right now! When she was your age, she was already making explosives!!!! Kids these days I tell you... ]

I've... never learned to strike someone... [Is that really a standard thing!? This really is a culture shock for the poor kid! He went in here so eager to learn but that ~aura~ of judgement BURNS.]

We haven't had any wars in a long time! [And even then kids wouldn't be the soldiers would they?--Well, except for the alleged alien invasion ten years ago but DETAILS]

Mm. If there were I don't know how many people are taught to fight from when they've just become teenagers...

[ Tenten would be more marveled over the car before she realizes about the car accidents, but she'd be weirded out by the soccer obsession. ]

Tch. I was a ninja and fighting when I was your age! It's not disappointing, I mean, I can't fault for it. [ But, the kid asking her to teach him was something she definitely wanted to do. ] But that doesn't mean we can't start now. Now, relax your grip a bit. If you hold it too hard, it'll become more tense and less wieldy in your hands.

[Upon her instruction Taiyou nods and loosens his hold on the rod. He adjusts his stance and does a little demo strike at the air.]

Yeah. You never want to grip something too hard. Being fluid is one of the best advantages you can have with a staff compared to a sword. Now, have you tried your dexterity with flipping the sword?

Well... no I haven't. [That sounds kind of dangerous...! And while what he's thinking is clear enough on his face he keeps the words to himself.]

Well, it's a lot different from flipping a staff. Why don't you try flipping a staff now with your relaxed grip work and feel the difference. [ She's behind him, in case he accidentally hits himself in the eye. She's been there. ): ]

[ Just about every type of weapon sits on Tenten's table. Staffs, knives, blades, ropes, whips, meteor hammers, even obscure things that have never seen the light of day aside from a brief panel or two (like a chakram) sit on her wonderful tables filled with weaponry.

Behind her is a dummy that's been thoroughly sliced up and throw. It wouldn't be too far off to compare it to swiss cheese. Tenten sits calmly on the table, hoping for someone to inquire something about her wonderful array of weaponry (all pointed towards herself) soon. She spots your character just glancing at her shit load of deadly objects and the game is on. ]

[This time, Neji chooses to spend some time looking over the selection of weaponry like he might actually be interested in wielding a few of them]

My tonfa are effective for patrolling the streets, however... I've decided that I'd prefer weapons that can move with my natural fighting style..

[ NEJI?! INTERESTED IN WEAPONRY?! HOLD THE PHONE?!

Tenten is simply Too Delighted For Words. She's a bit starstruck that Neji would select her weaponry collection to inspect (even though there aren't any weaponry places in Death City...) but she quickly gets over it as she silently pulls out a flail. There's a long chord between the spiked weight and the thin blade. ]

How about this, Neji? This would work perfect with your rotation and the blade can work well in combination with your Jyuken. [ She hands it towards him for him to try out, but she's not sure if there'd be any weaponry Neji could use that wouldn't be silver fingertips. ]

[Neji takes it, curious in spite of it's seeming unwieldy nature, backs off and tries a few basic swings.

It's not bad, flexible enough to potentially incorporate with some work, and a crippling punch at the end. Even without applying concentrated force, it'd still hurt. And while he can't really use Kaiten anymore, though his style still revolves around innate circular movement]

Not bad. I like the flexibility of the chain, but it seems like it has some potential to overbalance me on it's own..

Hm... I guess that'd be quite the challenge then. I guess this rules out the meteor hammer too. [ She briefly holds up a similar instrument, except the blades are replaced by two large weights.

She then pulls out a bullwhip. ]

Try this. It's similar in use, although, its design allows it to exceed the speed of sound when used properly. There are a couple of other weapons that can be used to restrain or injure a target similar to this, if you want to see if those would work more. [ She pulls out a Qilinbian for Neji to test after this. ]

[It looks promising; all flexibility and incredibly light with potential for restraint if not too much in way of inflicting real injury. Which suited his purposes well enough, considering that killing Kishin Eggs with ordinary Weapons is said to be entirely impossible.

He moves a fair distance and tries each of them with the bit of basic use he'd learned from Shibusen's classes before he'd found himself a Weapon of his own. He comes back and hands them both over]

The chain whip is something I'll certainly consider. We need something to restrain and potentially hook on or into targets from a decent range.. Capability of inflicting injury is preferable but not entirely necessary.

[He knows he's being difficult, but Tenten knows weaponry infinitely better than anyone else he knew, and that if anyone could think of something as close to what he wanted as possible, it was her]

What other types of weapons feature chain lengths?

[ She watches him use the latest weapons she sets out and she observes his form. By doing this, she can have a general prediction about his complaints or assessments. ]

The Chain Whip pretty much features all of that. As for weapons with chains, the scythe, the meteor hammer, the chained grapple, nunchucks and the like. [ She hands him a mankiri. ] Try this and tell me what you think of it. This might be something up your alley. [ She doesn't mind the pickiness. The fact that he's even paying attention in weapons this much excites Tenten. ]

[He's pleased with it, managing to successfully make it wrap around a training pole a few times, tugging on it to assure it's solid grip and flexing the chain before he moves back over to her]

I'm rather fond of it; it's simple and effective for my purposes with the fluidity I need. [But it could just use a sharp or hooked side..] Do you have the chained scythe and grapple available?

I do. [ Tenten hands Neji something that looks similar to to test out first. ] Try this first. I think this weapon would be much easier to use than the grapple.

[Just looking at it, it's perfect. The chain is long, but not uncomfortably so, and if he thinks of it in terms of pulling Kishin off-balance or interrupting an attack from middle-distance, it's just fine.

He hands it back to her with a satisfied nod] Would you mind showcasing it's full capabilities?

Sure. Anything in specific you wish to see? [ She knows he's looking for specific maneuvers. She might as well streamline it now. ]
