[Open] Morning Training! - February 16th

Time: 5am to 10am

Description: Every morning in the city, Morning Training takes place to prepare the guests of the city for the war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on February 16th.

[Naoto isn't shooting so much today, but overseeing overall progress of those who come to shoot. That was the point of being an instructor of course. She had a small limp to deal with and had to sit occasionally when the strain became too much, but she's available to help or talk to at a moment's notice.]

[[Bakura was doing much better than when he started practicing, but he's still very clearly a beginner. While he wasn't flinching anymore, it still took him a bit of time to calm his nerves after every shot so that he could aim properly. He's pretty clearly not the type who's at all used to this yet. Heck, he's never even been that good at first person shooter games! But he's doing his best to overcome that. Hopefully with enough practice, it'll come more easily....]]

[Naoto quietly approaches Bakura from the side. It would be erroneous to approach from behind lest she wanted to startle him and frightening someone still getting use to a gun had a high chance of resulting in a casualty. Naoto observes him fight, mentally taking note of what required improvement and waiting until he noticed her standing by.]

[[It's not too long before Bakura lets out a deep breath, carefully setting his gun down before carefully flexing his hand to try and work out the built up tension. It's only then that he notices that someone's watching.]]

Aaa-- sorry, were you waiting to use this spot?

No, I'm not. I was observing your practice.

[bellcaptain]

[Deryn watches as he shoots and when he takes one of his pauses, she approaches him.]

I didn't know you shoot.

[shiromadoushi]

Aaa-- It's a pretty recent thing! [[admits, looking so utterly embarrassed]] I'm not very good at it yet....

[[as a quick look over at the target he had been just barely hitting would show]]

Don't worry, it just takes a squick of practice! [Bakura gets a pat on the back because he's trying and that's what matters.]

[He had decided that modern firearms were the way to go as soon as he had arrived in this world and found his magical powers blocked. Back when he had been alive Bakura had preferred to do his fights getting close and dirty, but considering what a stick the body he uses now is - yeah, not so much.

At least those things were dangerous and easy to use, he had seen them plenty of times when his host had watched tv.

Snatching one of the practice guns, he aims, pulls the trigger - and frowns as nothing happens. Then he pulls the trigger again.]

What the- Is the stupid thing broken?!

[Most tv shows didn't bother with things like showing how to check if the gun is loaded or how to remove the safety.]

[Naoto requires a double take. Well, Bakura is over there still practicing... so who's this? Still, he appeared to be having some difficult.]

You cannot just pick up and fire the guns here.

[They were sitting next to the training ammunition after all.]

[He gives her a short murderous look before he seems to catch himself and and tones it down to a wary kind of displeasure. He doesn't like it at all to have been seen embarrassing himself.]

How do you do it? [Stupid movies!]

[Wouldn't have been the first time if this Bakura was curious. Still, she just stands there still watching him coolly.]

First, you need to load it. [Naoto holds out a clip of training bullets]

[ firearms are... so strange. the technology isn't wholly familiar, but still — Yoichi is still caught up in examining one of guns. ]

[Eventually, Naoto approaches Yoichi]

Do you require assistance?

Mm, do you know much about the mechanisms inside?

[ he asks out of a sense of half-hearted duty. what he actually wants is to SHOOT THINGS. ]

Sadly, he doesn't actually have a bazooka.

[Giroro doesn't pay Yoichi more than just passing glance as he passes by to get himself set up for practising.

Yes he's a two-foot tall alien frog. No, he's not a kappa.]

[ but how can a two-foot frog not be a kappa!? (because he is an alien. right.)

but unfortunately, Yoichi isn't aware of this and he'll just stare openly as Giroro goes past. and probably take a few steps in his direction, curious. ]

[He is sniping away at the targets, hitting one mortal area after another in a most professional looking way. The only thing that makes it look a little bit silly is that he is using the tip of his spine-like tail to block alternately the sight of his right and his left eye.

He keeps going faster and faster until he finally runs out of bullets and lowers his gun, breathing heavily.]

[Sarah lost interest in boring old targets a long time ago, but its still sometimes entertaining to watch other people do it. Plus, she can gauge their abilities in comparison to her own. She supposed that if she were the Queen of Blades, she might be making it more difficult by covering her eyes too.

Of course... that creature would be tearing open chest cavities for the laughs, so she was pleased to just be watching the odd display from Aion. Clearly he needed moving targets to make anything worthwhile.]

I'd suggest covering both eyes, but you're probably 'accidentally' shoot someone.

[He turns towards her and a small smile of recognition graces his face as he reaches into his pocket and pulls out a handkerchief to wipe the sweat from his face.]

Probably. [He chuckles under his breath.] Though I wonder if that were such a bad thing, in some cases.

[He shook his head to show that it was just a joke and put the gun away.]

Anyway, I need to keep practicing if I want to keep in shape. How do you do?

[Saya is training her aim. She might be a Weapon and not use guns per say, but she still wishes to train like this. Back in her world, she did have a pretty neat gun she could shoot well, so she isn't an amateur]

[ Letting off a little steam by taking out targets isn't a bad things, right? Well, even if it isn't, that's what Re-l's chosen and she seems pleased as punch about it, taking out targets with a practiced ease before reloading and taking aim again.

It was always good to keep one's skills up when you had no idea what was coming next. ]
