[Open] Morning Training! - February 16th

Description: Every morning in the city, Morning Training takes place to prepare the guests of the city for the war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on February 16th.

"Sorta, but that's not what I really meant. Not every power is based on our form," While it was true that the fighters are more dangerous because they know how to fight, and are blending in new aspects of it, there was a more linear meaning. Clare pointed out Yuuri, "He's a sword, but he also makes barriers and can heal people. Neither of which is very sword-like. But he does them because that's who he is. Bakura... who is somewhere else, he turns into dice. I don't know what they do, but they do something. He had a partner, went on missions. What I do is tied to who I am, and most of what I do is defend and evade." She hoped that got the point across.

Clare quickly tried to shake off her thoughts with a very fake smile, she didn't want to get into things she couldn't fix, "Old Ghosts, nothing that you need to worry about. I'm fine."

Sheena sat there, listening, her jaw dropping slightly. "Wait...you don't mean a physical barrier like your shield, do you?" she asked, following Clare's gaze. She paused a moment, thinking about who she was. She risked her life without thinking or asking for anything in return to help and protect others. She was also pretty hot-headed and stubborn, and wondered just what abilities would emerge from that.

"That's right," she finally said. "You mentioned that you could hide your Meister's presence from enemies." Sheena was trained in stealth and using illusions for diversions. Now, she was beginning to look forward to finding out just what she could do.

The young ninja shook her head slightly, still wearing a soft smile. "Those Old Ghosts pop up at the strangest times, don't they?' she asked softly, her voice full of understanding.

"Energy barrier. He used it on the one mission I was on," Clare wasn't sure of the specifics, and she wasn't entirely comfortable grilling Yuuri with a bunch of research questions. She figured from the expression Sheena got the idea now. So there was that, getting someone introspective and curious as to their new abilities will help them work on the subject.

"Yup, but it doesn't make them invisible so it's not exactly great," Clare wasn't entirely sure what was going on with her abilities. They towed a very fine line between vaguely familiar and completely foreign. "I think I sorta convert standard destructive wavelengths into other forms." Power in this world was a soul, and that power was almost always used to destroy or injure. Either the Kishin attacking, the Witches' magic, or a Meister's combat. Clare defended and concealed, but both clearly took energy. As with them her offense was limited to that of any standard non-living weapon.

"Strange and unhelpful timing, guess everyone has a few," it was sad that this was on Clare's short list of things constant between everyone. That as she tried to understand everyone, and get everyone to understand her... old wounds was what they all shared.
