[Open] Morning Training! - February 16th

Time: 5am to 10am

Description: Every morning in the city, Morning Training takes place to prepare the guests of the city for the war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on February 16th.

Really. [He gives him the kind of laugh that is typical for a person who had figured that something they had said was obvious. Shrugging his shoulders, he makes a wide-spreading gesture with his hands.]

It's like all those times when you try to figure out something complicated. Once you hit a certain point you just keep going in circles and confusing yourself the longer you try to make it work. ..Those are the times when you have to stop and take a break.

I always thought that it's the same with emotions.

[He digests this information, and feels a lot more relieved.]

That... actually makes sense. [He's always known that study breaks worked wonders during those horrible weeks leading up to end-of-year exams. But he's never thought to apply the same logic to things like emotional problems or trauma.]

I don't know about taking a break from emotions, though. [Not that he doesn't think it'd be helpful, just that he has no idea how a person would accomplish the feat. He's a boy in the prime of youth, after all, so emotions are a pretty big deal.]

Well, you could try to do it by going to sleep. [He shrugs his shoulders since a night of rest is obviously not enough to recover from the sort of problems that Takuto has to deal with.] Or you can try and focus on something else, a task or a problem that you can do something about. You know, work on things one step after another. Nobody says that you have to walk in a straight line with that kind of thing.

[At the mention of sleep he can't help but give his partner a somewhat pointed stare. Aion, of all people, should know how he is when he sleeps (though he has been getting better).... But at least the demon suggests something else.

And that last line... seems to take a weight off his shoulders.]

Just because I'm not a hero doesn't mean I'm a villain, huh. [He looks carefully at the demon.] You mean I don't have to do it all at once.

[He gives him a look that is first mild surprise before it turns into a beaming smile.]

Well, of course it it means that! You'd have to be a monster with twenty heads and ten-thousand arms to do everything all at once at the same time!

[He smiles back, finally feeling just a little silly. It did sound ridiculous when Aion put it that way. He sends another punch towards the demon.]

Well I'm not a monster. [He might sound like he's pouting about it, but he's terribly terribly relieved that Aion is joking about it with him. Because it means it's nowhere near the truth.]

[He laughs and takes the punch.]

Well I am and I still can't do stuff like that! So quit strangling yourself over it!

Okay okay! [He keeps his hands to himself for a moment, folding his arms across his chest while he looks across the training grounds and watches a various people train for a while.]

Hey Aion. [He's still staring at random people sparring, and, quite a ways away, practicing resonance.] Who all do you train with? [Since it obviously wasn't Takuto lately.]

Hm? Besides you? I train with pretty much everyone who's up for it. My most regular sparring partners are you, Chrono, Dylan, Viede, Miss Kaoru and Miss Kerrigan for firearms. What makes you ask?

[tauborn]

Just wondering.

[tuned_wrong]

...Takuto. [He says the name like a sigh.] If you want to ask or say something, then do so. I can't read minds, you know?

[tauborn]

N-no, I was just wondering because... because I haven't been at training.

[Though he is weirdly pleased to hear that Aion hasn't been practicing resonance with anyone else.]

[tuned_wrong]

[Hmn. He doesn't get it.]

Are you jealous that I have been crossing my sword with others beside you? [He sounds amused at the thought.]

sldkfj I don't think you realize just how gay that sounds. /choking

[tauborn]

N-no. I don't want to fight you. [He says "fight" because he doesn't think he can get out the words "crossing swords" while keeping a straight, non-blushing face. But he's admitting in a roundabout way that he doesn't think he can spar against the demon without suffering some kind of flashback.] And I think being able to practice with other people is good for you, so... I was just curious, really.

What does Kaoru think of you?

No? Why not? [He gives him a confused look, once again not getting his partner's motivations. As far as he is concerned their fight is over and in the past and thus has no importance for what they are going to do in the future together. He doesn't hold grudges for getting attacked a little - unless that attack is personally motivated and intentional. Then he takes it dead serious.

Luckily, Takuto's question distracts him from further inquiring. For now.]

I think that she's okay with me. We get along, if that's what you mean.

lol it's probably a side effect of playing Takuto....

[He nods. He'd have to ask Kaoru herself what she thought of his partner. Or he'll never know because Kaoru will be taken away by BREW before he gets a chance to ask.]

She's pretty easy to get along with, I think. And she's a good teacher.

Yeah. She's a lot softer than the teachers I am used to, but I guess that can be a good thing. [At least it'd be for Takuto and Chrono.]

The teachers in Pandemonium must be incredibly strict. [Kaoru always assigned him thousands of practice strokes on a daily basis. The boring kind of strokes, too!

Though... perhaps Aion is talking more about Kaoru's gentle nature. She really is a softie inside, which Takuto appreciates. Or maybe Aion means literally, because Kaoru doesn't wear any demon armor like the kind Aion has.]

Aion is starting to notice that counting the numbers of love problems that boy has >>

It's a more military-like manner of teaching, I think. They believe that everything that doesn't break you makes you stronger. [He frowns lightly because he didn't always agree with that way of training.]

did you want the list of crushes? there's like... probably around ten

Hm. So did you have classes and things in Pandemonium? [Because now that they are on the subject, he is curious what similarities their upbringings might have had.] I mean, did you go to school? Or was it more like going to training?

sure!^^ I wonder if I can guess them all

It was training to grow into the roles we were born for. [He sighs.] They taught us a lot that was useful later on, but I don't think the way they did it was right. Birth shouldn't come over what you have a talent for or what you want to become.

We didn't have schools like yo do, though. They covered everything as part of our training.

[He nods, feeling a little sorry for his partner. Whatever difficulties Takuto has had, Aion seems to have had it worse.]

I think you're right. You should be allowed to pursue whatever it is you want to pursue.

That's what I think, too. [He nods, smiling a little.] Free will is something that should be allowed to anyone.

[Takuto smiles back. Even though there are some things about Aion that he doesn't necessarily agree with, Aion believes in all the important things.]

I take it the demons that still live where you came from don't think the same way?

The leading ones don't and the masses follow their lead. [He shakes his head.] It's regrettable but something that can't be helped.
