Description: Every morning in the city, Morning Training takes place to prepare the guests of the city for the war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on February 16th.

[She tilts her head.]

I haven't quite mastered changing into my Weapon form, though.

Oh? I might be able to help you with that.

[Sighs]

Well, I was able to do it partially, and it seems I'm one of these.

[Lifts up her Obijime before letting it drop.]

I'm a braided cord of all things...

I know somebody with a similar form. [Lol, Nataku.] You likely possess some sort of ability. Weapons usually do.

[Looks at him in surprise.] Someone else is a piece of clothing? What's their ability?

I think the fact that he can move on his own IS an ability. He might be capable of doing more than that, though.

[ninjainviolet]

Move on his own? You mean like a snake? [Looks down at her Obijime.]

Great, first I'm a banshee, now I'm a braided snake. [Her tone is wry.]

It could be different from you. You'll never know until you try, right?

True. [Sighs.]

Like I said, I tried earlier over in the Weapons area by sort of meditating, but only partially succeeded. [Stops and looks at him as a thought occurs to her.]

Roy, could emotions interfere with changing? [She had been told to start with the heart, after all.]

They can, to my understanding.

[Blinks.]

Got an idea?

Well, things started falling apart when I thought about a promise I had made. There are...[She pauses...]

Some very strong emotions involved. It occurred to me that maybe I overloaded.

Ah. Well, perhaps if you focus your attentions away from that...? I've also heard that it helps to envision yourself as a weapon, or at least meditate on what it might mean to literally be one.

[ninjainviolet]

[She gives him a wry look.] I think that's part of my problem. I already am a weapon. I can fight with my hands and feet by themselves.

Hmmm...You might be on to something...[Closing her eyes, she goes through the steps slowly.] First, I just began meditating, listening to my heart beat.

Then I began focusing on the promises I made to protect others... Her voice trails off and instead of focusing on another promise, she thinks about her weapon form. To her surprise, the tingling remains steady as her hand and arm begins to change into a black braided cord dotted with clusters of different colors.]

[Stepping back to watch her at it, not saying a word.

Fascinating, really, these transformations.]

[Keeping the sensation going, Sheena opens one eye to see what's happening. Although she's been told what she becomes, the sight of a cord coming from her shoulder is a bit unsettling. To her credit, she doesn't lose the change, having noticed something.]

Those other colors...

[Smiling a bit.]

Unexpected?

[She had almost forgotten about Roy. She lets the transformation reverse slowly, her gaze never leaving her arm--almost like being unable to not look at a horrible accident. Once it's complete, she thinks a moment before turning to him, a slight weariness about her eyes.]

The Summon Spirits didn't always appear to me as themselves. They sometimes traveled as balls of energy. Those other colors were a perfect match.

[Clare had told her that she decided her shape. Had she put those colors in herself?]

Summon Spirits?

[Looks up in surprise.] Huh? Oh. I was a summoner back home. I made pacts with the Elemental Spirits to be able to summon them to help protect the people so they could live the way they wanted.

Didn't I mention that?

[thewarisover]

Ah, right. [Hou.] Yeah, it might be reflective of that.

[ninjainviolet]

[Sheena's eyes narrow in thought.]

Reflective of the Spirits? [Could they be part of her ability. She can't see how, though.] You mean like a reminder of them?

[Nods.]

You'll have to do some experimenting, preferably with a Meister who can wield you. Resonance boosts abilities.

[ninjainviolet]

[Sighs and a bit of frustration slips into her voice.]

Can you explain that to me, please? I've been told I'll discover my abilities when I find a Meister I can resonate with. When I try to put it in terms I can understand, I'm told it's wrong because it's souls and not mana we're talking about.[She pauses.]

The Spirits shared my mana when in battle in order to be able to do certain things, and to me, that sounds a lot like this whole resonance thing.

[Thinking a bit.]

Resonance is a connection established between the soul of a Meister and the soul of a Weapon. Souls all possess their own energy, and the way I understand it is that said energy is a reflection of who they are as people. In essence, when you resonate, you agree to share a part of yourself with your partner, and come to an understanding in order to fight. Like, let's say, covering up for each other's weaknesses, and emphasizing what the two of you have in common.
