[Open] Morning Training! - February 16th

Time: 5am to 10am

Description: Every morning in the city, Morning Training takes place to prepare the guests of the city for the war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on February 16th.

[Demona rises her hand, trying to lift Qilby from the ground. Her wings also take place in front of her, just to be used as shield in case he tries something with his feet.

And her other hand rises. Those are claws pointed at Qilby's arm.] I suppose you do need this arm.

[it occurs to him just now, while being threatened with further dismemberment, that perhaps he had the wrong idea about demona.

up until now, he'd assumed that the city was populated mainly with the sort of sickeningly sweet heroic people that yugo tended to attract in droves, and that he was an anomaly. he travelled here on his own power, didn't he? not intentionally, but BREW would have to be bugged to think that qilby would aid its cause. he'd find no allies here amongst death city's more self-righteous residents.

demona, however, wasn't like the others. oh, for all he knew, she could be good at heart and a protector of the little people and willing to fight for death city... but it's the way it looks like she'd go about it that makes qilby want her on his side. he almost wants to push her buttons further, test her patience, see exactly how far she'd go but--

he actually does need that arm. plus he has an image as a weak, if wise, old man to keep up. so at demona's threat, he visibly blanches, all earlier bravado gone. in a voice one might use if they were trapped in a cage with an upset lion, he replies slowly:] I... Suppose I do. And I suppose this is still a "friendly" fight.

[qilby's words are enough to bring her back to the current situation and snap away from her emotions. yes, he is right, this is still a supposedly friendly fight and though the female doesn't take mocking well, she knows if she wants to keep her facade she will have to give in.

demona drops qilby by releasing his wrist, and a small sweet smile comes to her lips. even if she wanted to fake an apologetic expression, she couldn't, so she took the smiling route instead] Yes, it is. Forgive me, Qilby, sometimes the warrior in me takes things way too far.

There's nothing to forgive. [his amicable reply's followed by a soft groan, as his feet touch ground again, and he rotates his shoulder, wincing at the stiffness.

maybe it's just because they're too much like his own, but he finds he has a hard time believing her sweet smiles now.] Well, I think it's safe to say the match goes to you. Are all gargoyles warriors like you, or did I just have the misfortune of challenging the best among them?

I am, however, one of the strongest gargoyles alive. [not a lie. except for goliath and thailog (who is goliath's clone), no other living gargoyle can face demona]
