[Open] Morning Training! - February 16th

Time: 5am to 10am

Description: Every morning in the city, Morning Training takes place to prepare the guests of the city for the war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on February 16th.

[The sword hmm? She bends down and noses at it a few times before nudging it onto her snout. Once there, she flings it up gradually, moving it until she can flip it up! It descends, coming to hover over her back]

Woah!

[Just gonna...stare for a moment. He's seen wolves and floating swords but never together like this.]

So...you fight with it like that?

[Amaterasu smiles widely and nods quickly. That's right~]

Are you sparring like that, too?

Ar ruf.

[Of course she is. How else do you think?]

[boredallready]

[He was more surprised that she was sparring in the first place, actually. That doesn't affect much, though, and he puts his hands on his swords.]

That's great! Are you free right now or are you...waiting for somebody?

[Because sparring with a wolf with a floating sword over it sounds really awesome.]

[She tilted her head, but quickly caught on when she notices his hands on his swords. That head tilt becomes a shake; nope, not waiting for anyone! Better be ready because she's not going to go easy.]

Okay! You wanna practice with me, then?

[Lloyd's as ready as he's ever going to be. He slowly draws his twin blades and starts watching "Curry" carefully. He honestly had no idea what to expect from her.]

[motherofthesun]

[What can you expect from a large wolf? She circles around, flicking her tail in his direction almost tauntingly. Come out her bro.]

[He does his best to follow her as she circles. Okay, looked like he needed to make the first attack.

...What's the proper method for this, anyway?

He takes another second before racing forward with his right arm raised to strike and keeping the left ready for backup. Lloyd tries a horizontal swing over her, on level with the sword.]

[motherofthesun]

[A dual-wielder? So his swords aren't just for show. How it reminds her of home and a certain prophet who can't manage to stay in one place for too long. Then again, being in the mortal realm is...]

[Oh wait! Middle of sparring!]

[She lets the sword block Lloyd's attack and immediately springs at him in a headbutt.]

[He expected the block, but her leap takes him a little off guard. Lloyd jumps back a bit but she's close enough to get a light hit in.

Ah, she fights the way he's normally seen animals attack, too. That just makes this look even more challenging. In the good way.

He's not phased much so he takes another step back before stepping to one side and thrusting toward her sword again. How well can anyone handle a blade when it's floating?]

[motherofthesun]

[Why oh why was Lloyd aiming solely at the sword? She'll let him connect only to smack him in the knee with her paw in an attempt to make him fall over.]

[boredallready]

[He stumbled but managed to get one sword in the ground for support and lands on his knees. Maybe he should try another approach...

Lloyd quickly swipes his sword in front of him as a lower move to hopefully give him a few more seconds.]

[motherofthesun]

[Amaterasu springs back and snorts. She'll spare him those few seconds.]

[Okay, he's standing again. Lloyd decides to try a charge attack of his own, holding both of his swords at the ready.]

[motherofthesun]

[Amaterasu begins to trot, moving around, slowly coming to break into a run, lapping circles around him.]

[boredallready]

[He stops and turns as necessary to try to keep her in his line of site. He does his best to judge her movements before racing toward her when he thinks he sees an opportunity. He'll try a low swipe this time with one arm.]

[motherofthesun]

[And she'll block, maintaining the speed to put force behind her sword, pressuring his arm.]

[boredallready]

[She stops his forward movement and Lloyd holds his blade against her's for a second. Finally he tries making a short swipe with his other sword to hopefully force her back.]

[motherofthesun]

[It works. She bounds back to avoid the swipe, but she's not off for long, swooping down in to the left. The sword on her back rises and swings around in an arch cutting up towards his side.]

[boredallready]

[Lloyd had to figure out his next move, but Ammy's wasn't quite what he was expecting. Near the last moment he users both swords to guard. Then he jumps back and starts running to the right. He's not showing any sign of making a move just yet, but he keeps low.]

[motherofthesun]

[She springs back, but then follows him to the right, paws pounding the dirt and her sword back in place.]

[Oh, she's following him. With no better ideas, he turns and runs toward her. He tries another low horizontal swipe, but it's higher than he wants it to be.]

[Well, this won't be good. She keeps running at him; this was going to be a headbutt.]
