Description: Every morning in the city, Morning Training takes place to prepare the guests of the city for the war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on February 16th.

[ She cocks her head to the side. She already knew he's a weapon, but she never knew he's un-partnered. The first time she spoke to him, it sounded like he had been in Death City for awhile now. Or at least longer than her. She expected he would already have one... ]

You don't have a partner?

[ A slow shake of the head. ]

N..No... I don't. I... actually haven't resonated with anyone yet...

[ He's changed into his weapon plenty of times to get the hang of the transformation but that was it. He hasn't resonated nor does he really know what he can actually do as a weapon. ]

Why not? Is it necessary to have a partner?

[ She remembers somewhere along her tour there was mention about resonating with a partner, but she wasn't sure if it was necessary. She's already skilled at fighting on her own. ]

Uhm... If I remember correctly it's required to have a partner in order to go on missions and it's... highly recommended? You can fight kishin eggs on your own but you do more damage with a partner.

[ He doesn't remember the inner details but that should be the gist of it. As for the first question she asked... ]

I just... haven't found someone to resonate with.

[ He actually hasn't been looking. After what Kratos told him he wanted to be at least comfortable with the person he's resonating with. ]

[ She hasn't been searching either, but with that explanation, it does sound beneficial trying to find a partner now. And it's like what her friends told her that she doesn't have to tackle everything on her own. ]

You can try resonating with me, if you want.

[ So casually offering. ]

[ Mithos blinks. ]

O-Oh... Uhm...

[ He thought about this for a moment. It... would be a good time to figure out what he can do as a weapon if Sophie can resonate with him. Also Sophie doesn't seem to be a bad person either... Eventually he nods his head. ]

S-Sure! I... If you don't mind?

Hmm? I don't mind.

[ It doesn't seem like Sophie has any qualms about resonating with someone she hasn't known very long. But his answer felt a bit... delayed? She wonders if there's a problem. ]

Were you thinking about something?

[ Mithos simply shakes his head at the question. ]

I'm just thinking about my weapon form. I don't know what I can do in it so... resonating with someone will help.

[ Not everything that he was thinking but the gist of it? ]

[ Sophie will settle with that answer! ]

Then I will help you. [ A pause, then she gives another head tilt. ] So how do we... resonate?

[ Uhh... Mithos tries to remember how a meister and a weapon would resonate. He hasn't done it and it's been a while but he remembers explaining something to Kratos about a weapon's role. ]

Uhm... we need to see if our Soul Wavelengths are compatible before resonating. If they are then we should be able to resonate and... perform the techniques that require resonating.

[ Whatever they were. ]

[ The blank, confused expression remains on her face like she doesn't have a clue what Mithos just said. Oh boy, this may take her some time to understand. ]

How... do we do the first part?

[ Well... let's see... ]

Oh, I know. Hold out your hands. If I place my hands on top and transform my I should hopefully land in your hands.

[ Taking this one step at a time was probably the best way to do this. ]

Okay.

[ And she sticks out her hands like she's been instructed to do. She's far better with following simple instructions. ]

[ Mithos nods his head ]

Yeah. Just like that.

[ He then places his hands on top of hers. ]

Here we go...

[ Mithos then closes his eyes as he concentrates on his weapon form. In just a small moment the half-elf is done and instead there is now a panpipe in her hands. ]

[ She curls her fingers around the panpipe, locking her grip gently. She doesn't have much of a clue on what she's supposed to do, but she can feel some kind of power residing within the instrument. It's unlike an average weapon. Well, it didn't even look anything like a sword, gauntlet, knife, or whatever. ]

...I've never seen a weapon like this before.

[ Mithos isn't surprised by Sophie's reaction. A Panpipe is an instrument. Not a weapon. In fact he never even considered a Panpipe to be more of a instrument and a sort of 'summoning item' for Aska until he transformed into one.

Well, she's able to hold him. That's a good thing. Step one complete? ]

My weapon form is actually an instrument... a panpipe. I've... never heard of one being used as a weapon so I don't know what I can do in this form.

[ If there is anyway to use a instrument as a weapon... ]

... Have you ever played an instrument before?

[ Talking to Mithos through her thoughts feels similar communicating with Lambda. So far so good? Her soul's presence is closeby, giving off a gentle resonance and protectiveness. She's trying to be careful. She trusts him enough to quickly reach out to his soul herself, but perhaps it's only enough to communicate and hold him at the moment. As for using him and carrying out different techniques... ]

...no. I've never played an instrument before.

[ Oh. Welp, she knows where this is going. ]

[ Mithos was a little uncertain about this at first due to not really knowing Sophie. However her soul... the gentleness and protectiveness of her soul was something familiar to him and has been missing since arriving here in Death City. Upon feeling it he feels that he can trust her and allows his soul to be reached as it feels, giving off a sense of dependency but also calm and delicate. ]

Oh... okay. Uhmm...

[ He thinks of the best but simplest way to explain it. Hopefully BREW made him a weapon that could be played by anyone who he can resonate with even if they don't have any experience as a musician. ]

Go ahead and hold me up to your mouth. Try to center your lips at one of the middle tubes; they're the easiest notes to play. After... tilt me slightly towards your lips but not too much. Then blow. Try not to blow into the tube but across the top.

[ That... should be simply enough. ]

All right.

[ Resonance is a new feeling to her, but such a calm, delicate soul is relaxing and shows her she has nothing to fear from him. Getting a stronger feel of his soul increases her desire to protect.

Following his instructions, she holds up the panpipe and tilts the middle tubes close to her mouth, blowing in a thin stream of air. ]

[ The note that played was quiet and a bit bright but it was to be expected for a first note. Still, Mithos can feel her desire to protect as she plays and as a result Sophia might feel that she has slightly more energy than before. ]

[ She feels the difference from the note that she played. Arriving in Death City put a downgrade on her, but she feels a small energy boost from wielding the panpipe.

Holding the panpipe away from her mouth, she takes a moment to giggle out loud. It may be just one little note, but she's proud of herself, especially since this is something she has never done before. ]

Hee hee! I did it, Mithos!

[ Mithos was happy and proud as well. He was able to resonate with Sophie and while it wasn't much he now knows that he could do something even though it was just one note. Maybe when more notes are played he can do even more?

Regardless, a stamina boost was great. While he might not be a sword for someone to wield someone who uses martial arts can certainly use him to an advantage. ]

I'm glad! You did a good job for a first try, Sophie!

[ It might have looked like she was simply standing there and playing a single note to others, but she knows Mithos is doing his part by giving her his power and instruction. ]

[ That could actually prove advantageous. Especially with Sophie's way of fighting. ]

Yeah. Go ahead and play another note.

[ Practice makes perfect! Or in this case better resonance. ]

[ She's going to need to practice using her legs to fight more often if she's going to wield Mithos during battle, but she's likely to manage it easily. ]

Okay. Here I go again.

[ Sophie lifts the panpipe close to her mouth again and centers her lips on a new, bigger tube. Don't blow into the tube, but across the top... like he said. She blows another stream of air into the tube. Now to see the effect of this one, if she played it correctly. ]
