[Open] Morning Training! - February 16th

Description: Every morning in the city, Morning Training takes place to prepare the guests of the city for the war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on February 16th.

What types of games do you play with them, if you don't mind me asking?

[four days after their initial conversation, qilby was just about reconciled with the fact that yugo was now in the city. perhaps not happy about it -- after all, he'd planned very carefully for their next meeting to involve death and destruction, if not outright surrender -- but he could deal with it. the last ten thousand or more years of his relationship with his fellow eliatrope had been one in which yugo ruined everything qilby wanted to do; frankly, he'd have been surprised if yugo hadn't eventually shown up to ruin everything here too.

but he'd just have to play nice, as much as it pained him. after watching yugo for a minute at a distance -- noting the shape the boy was in, his movements, how hard it'd possibly be to wipe the floor with him, et cetera -- he finally approached, old and tired-looking as ever.]

You're coming along nicely. As long as we only have to fight motionless sandbags, I think we'll have little to fear. [he's not openly mocking, of course: his kind smile says otherwise. he's obviously just... gently teasi-- oh, who are we kidding?]

{She sighs as well, rubbing a hand over her ribs as she toys with the remaining one-third of her meal.}

[Masamune reads it with no problems but he tilts his head to the side. The sun goddess Amaterasu? What was she doing here and what was she doing enjoying his patting, of all things?]

.... Hngh, Kojuro would get mad at me if he found out that I met Amaterasu and didn't offer her any rice cakes or something. Do you want rice cakes?

[Yugo stops after landing a solid kick on the dummy. He wipes some sweat from his face and smiles, though that quickly disappears at Qilby's snark. He's not that bad without his portals, is he? Still, he keeps his tone as upbeat as he can--can't let a small comment like that get you down!]

Yeah, it's been a while since I've used my fists. That's why I'm practicing now! I've gotta be at my best for my partners!

[He has to reprimand himself not to grin too wildly at her words? Sorry? Oh, of course she'd be sorry if she knew, he had been gambling on the survival chances of everybody in this place but him!

Not that her 'friend' Bakura would ever tell her something like that.

He makes a swiping gesture with his scar-marked left hand (he had impaled his host's limb on the spine of one of his models for trying to get into his way a couple of months ago) while the other hides the dice in one of his many pockets.]

Oh, the usual. [He grins.] Table tops, RPGs, any other kind of game that requires ten-sided dice and Dark Games.

Sheena nodded. "The heart and soul are always connected--you can't have one without the other. It's those two that connect everything in you and give you the strength to live and to fight. My Grandpa taught me that." And it was something Sheena believed in fully (and her habit of reacting more on her emotions than on thought proved that.)

Sheena had been trying, but with that information about the heart, she had a clearer idea of what to do. She gave the other woman a smile. "I think you're doing a good job, Clare." She took a deep breath and tried again, going into a trance-like meditative state, using the beating of her heart as a guide.

Despite her eagerness to change, she didn't force it, trusting her soul to know when it was right--almost like knowing the correct moment to attack an enemy. She could feel what could only be described as a liquid warmth flowing through her, and her hands fingertips began to tingle.

Unknown to her, her hands had started to change, turning black and transforming into a braided cord like the one around her waist.

[Yuuri's just finished helping someone else with their transformation when he sees someone else in the area. Lightly jogging the distance between them, he approached with a friendly smile on his face as he waved.]

I'm kidding, of course. [he laughs lightly and holds up his hand yieldingly -- see, joking!] You've always been a talented fighter and-- well. In all truth, I shouldn't be talking.

[qilby kind of wishes he didn't use up the little bit of maliciousness he'd allotted himself in this conversation; he has a feeling he's going to want it later. he circles around the dummy, placing it between him and yugo.] It's been hard without our portals, though I'm sure you already understand that if you've been here before. You have the right idea, training like this.
