[Open] Morning Training! - February 16th

Time: 5am to 10am

Description: Every morning in the city, Morning Training takes place to prepare the guests of the city for the war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on February 16th.

[Pausing as she walked away, the thought of fighting against her sisters caused her face to twist in a highly unpleasant smile.]

What be remainin' to be seen is where my time be spent.

[On the battlefield taking out as many of them as possible once her magic was returned, or if the guests here really do have the potential to turn the tide of this war to remain here to train them.]

[he watches after for a moment. they really were not getting anywhere with this. he couldn't just rely on her or the others to prove their worth. so after another second of consideration, he calls out to her.]

[Cybele had already begun heading off when Kid called out to her. Pausing, she schooled her expression back to more of a taunting smirk as she glanced back over her shoulder. Tail swishing behind her, she didn't say anything but waited to see what he wanted.

What could the kid Shinigami want?]

[what he was thinking was a big risk. a very big risk. but with the restraints on her, they were pretty much on par in terms of power and abilities—or so he thinks at least.

[Now that response caught her by surprise. She knew that there was no 'love' between them, but Cybele had never considered the possibility that Kid would want to stoop to such levels.

That smirk slipped from her face, and she didn't bother hiding the flash of confusion over her expression before she looked away.]

You want to be makin' yourself that proof?

[That mocking tone was gone now, and replaced with one that might show more of just who she might be beneath all that taunting and arrogance. Glancing back over to Kid, there was a rare look of seriousness over her usually arrogant features.]

Steppin' down from that throne of yours. We'll soon see what type of 'king' you are, boyo.

[now it was his turn to walk toward her and to stop just short of where she stood as he continued to stare at her.]

And I'm not stepping down from anything, nor am I a "king" of anything. I'm a shinigami. Nothing more, nothing less. And it is my duty as one to play an active role in this.

[no, he couldn't just sit back and observe and let everyone else do everything. he never liked it to begin with and now he was going through with what he had always said and wanted to do: let him take part in these affairs. he was supposed to be their leader and leaders don't just act as some public face.

Unfortunately due to the circumstances I'm a bit limited on what I can do, but I have a proposal. Accompany me on some missions. You know nothing about us, and I know nothing about you. If we want to learn to trust one another, then fighting may be our best way to do it.

[Cybele turned around to fully face Kid when he made every intention of walking up to her. That was a first, but it seemed that the boy wanted to prove something. Was it to her, or to himself? Maybe some both.

She didn't say anything, but remained watching, observing, him while he made his proposition. He wanted her to accompany him on missions?

Slipping a hand on her hip, the Witch remained quiet while considering that thought. Learning to trust? It seemed like a joke to her, but even she couldn't bring herself to scoff at the idea. That was why she turned her face away so that she could glance at him from the corner of her eyes instead.]

Then make yer missions.

[That was the closest that she would get to an agreement and saying that 'yes, she was interested'.]

[he had begun to notice some of her quirks and expressions from their few conversations. she may not have appeared to be too enthusiastic about the idea, but he knew he got her attention. there was actually a bit of relief, but he masked it well, keeping his calm and cool front.]

[Cybele huffed lightly at Kid's words. Just what was happening? There was the barest hint of a nod before she was huffing again before turning away and sauntering stalking away.]

but he just watched her leave before allowing himself a small smirk of satisfaction before he turned to go his own separate way. he may be able to handle this witch yet.]

He is. A little goofy at times, and a taskmaster at others, but, he really is a good guy.

[ Blink ] O-Okay. And we can talk whenever you want to as well.

[ He then smiles ] Okay! [ He goes and stands in his usual spot in front of the dummy and positions himself. Once he was ready he dashed at the dummy and looks like he's about to attack the front before slipping around to the back and hitting it square in the back. Once the attack made contact he jumped back before lowering his sword. His performance was much better than it was the first time around. ]

Yes... you're right. If others had the courage then maybe the war wouldn't have lasted as long as it did.

It is a failure to pass on one's genes. The legacy is shattered. [He shrugs.] It happens. The young and the old always have a higher expectation of death.

I've learned that courage is hard, in the past few months. But...it's also a way to do things you never could have imagined being real.

[He laughs.]

Actually, someone once told me that "courage is the magic that turns dreams into reality." Since then, I've always found it to be true.

Haha, I agree! Courage is something not everyone can do. But it's the best way to pursue your wants and dreams.

While what you're saying is correct, there is more to it than that. From a mortal perspective, this is not only the loss of a heir, but the loss of a loved one who died far too young.

I'm relaying to you the common consensus among mortals of how children are too young to die, that is how I can say. The purpose of this lesson is to inform you of such beliefs; debating the correctness of said beliefs can come at a later time.
