Tonight, the park is full of life. Lights show the way towards the swimming pool, where you can find large white tents set up, all connected to each other. Music, loud chatter and laugher come from them, and inside you may find Guests and Natives enjoying the night together, a rare sight after recent events happening in the City. But tonight, all of that is to be forgotten. Maybe.

Welcome to the Summer Gala.

Feel free to leave your coat by the Coat room, listening to music (some songs are even played by Guests such as Karina, Shinji, Nanami, Hamel and John), dance together (don’t forget the Partner’s dance!), enjoy good food and good drinks, and perhaps after take a stroll by the swimming pool and the park.

But please, don’t forget to thank your hosts, Keroro’s and Eve’s Metokkori R and Hikan Café, and thank Cupid, Lily’s Yesterday's Magic, Hyoubu’s World’s End, Condesce’s Betty Crocker Bakery and the Watch for all their help. [He bobs his head. He's still oblivious. Perhaps Sugata is here looking for Valentine?]

[n o p e. though he would like to dance with her too. if she'd... you know... allow that. though this is entirely too precious.]

As much fun as I can have. [he pauses.] You aren't busy are you?

[He's still waiting for the opportune moment when he can tease Sugata about resonance with a girl like that. She's a well-endowed, fighting nurse, for crying out loud. She's like a walking fantasy stereotype.]

Um... no. [Why are you asking? Does he look busy? He is waiting around, wondering if he'll spot any of the weapons he's....]

[...oh.]

[oh yeah??? at least he can control himself when he's around her! besides that well-endowed fighting nurse saved his arm from getting worse! anyway-- he flashes takuto one of his all knowing smiles. he bows and offers him his good arm.]

May I have this dance with you?

[tauborn]

[Now is no time to stumble over his words! Except apparently it is.] Oh, um, er--r-right. I mean, yes. Sure? If you want.

[What is wrong with him all of a sudden? He sets his hand on Sugata's arm and then draws it back, unsure, even though he's still following his friend closely.] Wait, does this mean you're leading? [Takuto doesn't know how to dance the girl's part....]

[peacocked]

[you're so precious takuto. let him soak in this moment. he makes his way out to the dance floor and nods.] I asked you to dance with me, so yes. I know you'll catch on quick.

[tauborn]

[He splutters a bit, stopping in front of Sugata and facing him when they're deep enough in the crowd.] C-catch on quick?! All of the steps will be backwards for me!

[Yeah but he's actually ambipedal as well as ambidextrous so Sugata actually has a valid point. That doesn't make it any less embarrassing, though! Sugata might have to place Takuto hands on his shoulders if he wants this to actually happen.]

[peacocked]

It'll be easy. [he pauses as he brings takuto's hands to rest around his neck.] Just follow my lead, and if you want I'll go slower just for you. [after placing his hand and cast on either side of takuto's waist he starts off in a slower, but easy to follow rhythm.]

[tauborn]

[Sugata's words quiet him down, but they don't stop him from putting on his poutiest face while trying to match Sugata's footsteps. He's tempted to step on his friend's foot on purpose, but he already broke Sugata's arm so he might as well be nice.

It's really not too long before he gets the hang of it, though, and his hand relaxes on Sugata's neck.]

[peacocked]

[he gives a light chuckle as he continues to sway them around.] Don't give me that look, we'll be up to speed in no time.

[tauborn]

...I'm not looking at you like this because of the speed.

[It's the embarrassment of having to play the part of a girl while dancing. Sugata's much more familiar with playing girls, so this actually makes no sense. Then again... Takuto's expression turns much more thoughtful as he considers drama club. It's weird, isn't it? Having to act like he's in love with Sugata....

That's probably why Ryou'd said what he'd said the other day....]

We have to make sacrifices some day Takuto-kun.

[and hey, hey! there is a big difference between acting and being. he's only done it once back home. and that was a brief occasion. sugata, on the other hand is completely oblivious to takuto's dilemma. he is as cool as a cucumber!]

[tauborn]

[Takuto isn't being a girl, either! Except maybe with all this being a little flustered and stuff, he kind of is, but that's not the point!]

You asked me to dance, not to sacrifice my dignity. [He'll go right back to pouting, though it's clear he's mastering the girl's part of the dance by now. And actually, dancing with Sugata really isn't that bad. It's kind of fun. Even if Sugata is being Mr. Cool and oh so smug.]

[peacocked]

If you wanted to play the man's part then you should have asked me before I got the chance to ask you. It's only fair, Takuto-kun. [he pauses a little as he leads takuto to go a teensy bit faster. and of course dancing with sugata is fun. sugata puts the fun in dancing!!]

[tauborn]

[Well, that shuts him up because honestly, why didn't he think of asking Sugata first? Just don't try to twirl him or something. He'd probably wind up twirling because he's fond of spins and such--in some ways he's still very much the Galactic Pretty Boy--but twirling while fighting is cool no it's not and twirling on a dance floor is embarrassing. He sighs dramatically, watching the other couples dance around them.]

Whatever.

[peacocked]

Don't be a spoilsport.

[he really does have to fight off the temptation to twirl him though. he also has to fight off the temptation to dip him too. not that he doesn't know how to, but he'd need all his strength for it. and he'd have to actually be holding him with both hands. but hey! before he knows it, they're at the speed he would have set for the other when the song started!]

Hey, I'm actually dancing with you, aren't I?

[So he's not a spoilsport. And as the tempo increases, his hands are more firmly on Sugata. Not too tight, but not loosely, either.]

[peacocked]

And you're doing a very good job. See, I told you you would. You haven't even stepped on my toes yet. [as takuto's grip tightens a little more, he can't help but pull the other closer to him.]

[tauborn]

I told you I don't step on people's toes.

[Though he was totally thinking of doing it on purpose. But... actually, he's very glad he didn't. It's kind of comfortable just doing this. He doesn't even really notice when Sugata pulls him closer--it just feels like the natural rhythm of the dance.]

[peacocked]

Hmm. [well he believes him now!? so that's good. he keeps a steady rhythm of movement up until the song ends.]

[tauborn]

[He's practically leaning on his friend by the time the song closes and a few of the couples around them break apart to clap politely for the musicians. Slightly startled, Takuto pulls back, the comfortable feeling vanishing as reality starts to seep back in.]

Um, right. Well. Thank for the dance. [A small frown because technically Sugata asked him so Sugata should be thanking him, so--] I mean, you're welcome. [And there's a slight blush to go with his rushed words, because why is he so flustered about this?]

[peacocked]

[he does his best to hold in his snickers.] No, thank you for dancing with me. And it was my pleasure. We'll have to do this again the next time there's a ball.

[tauborn]

[His frown deepens and his blush rises.] N-no we don't have to.

[But he probably wouldn't really be so against it. In some weird way, he has the feeling the short dance is the thing that will make all the difference the next time they try to resonate.

... because he's actually suddenly thinking of wanting to resonate with Sugata again, and fix whatever went wrong last time.]
