Tonight, the park is full of life. Lights show the way towards the swimming pool, where you can find large white tents set up, all connected to each other. Music, loud chatter and laugher come from them, and inside you may find Guests and Natives enjoying the night together, a rare sight after recent events happening in the City. But tonight, all of that is to be forgotten. Maybe.

Welcome to the Summer Gala.

Feel free to leave your coat by the Coat room, listening to music (some songs are even played by Guests such as Karina, Shinji, Nanami, Hamel and John), dance together (don’t forget the Partner’s dance!), enjoy good food and good drinks, and perhaps after take a stroll by the swimming pool and the park.

But please, don’t forget to thank your hosts, Keroro’s and Eve’s Metokkori R and Hikan Café, and thank Cupid, Lily’s Yesterday's Magic, Hyoubu’s World’s End, Condesce’s Betty Crocker Bakery and the Watch for all their help. [Genesis had a lot of memories linked with dancing. But the most vivid one of all was the one night he and Dante were both trying to out-dance each other to gain the favor of one Carmine Zuigiber... who eventually became Genesis' partner and lover. They danced again at something like this, but that was sadly the last time they ever danced in front of the public.

Thinking of her always made him wistful. And he wondered if he would ever be able to take to the floor again with someone. So there he was at the side of the ballroom, with a drink in hand and dressed in a crisp white dinner suit that contrasted the brightness of his red hair and blue eyes.]

[niptuck]

Well, not how I expect to find my zone leader...

[She's not sneaking up on him on purpose, but she does have to sneak around. Not like that - she'll go back on patrol soon, but she gets a nice dress for the evening; it would be a shame not to wear it once. Letting her hair down in public too, but the mask and eyepatch have to stay on. At least they're a different color (black) and the eyepatch has a spider web printed on it.]

[Genesis is shaken out of his reverie when Valentine speaks to him. With a small smile, he turns to her.]

What did you expect me to be doing, Valentine?

[niptuck]

[She shrugs]

Declining several dances and not appearing so morose. Maybe even on guard and avoiding the dance floor entirely... Factoring in the drink isn't out of potential bounds though.

[recitings]

[He laughs a bit at that.]

Well, no one's asked me to dance yet. Would you like to be the first?

[niptuck]

[There's a smirk, but the darker mask makes it a little less noticeable.]

I may as well break the ice.

[recitings]

Well then...

[He sets his drink down and extends a hand to Valentine as he steps towards the floor.]

Shall we?

[niptuck]

[There's a silent incline of her head before she takes his hand. Worth noting that she still has gloves on, but at least they're not the usual rubber ones. Just a dark red silk touching against his palm.]

You may lead.

[recitings]

[Whether or not she would have given permission, Genesis does prefer to lead on a dance floor. And this shows in the expert way he moves with her in hand, gracefully guiding her to follow his steps.]

[niptuck]

[If he had proven incapable, it would be a sight to see Genesis lead by the nurse. But no; he's doing a fine job and she's following his guidance with little difficulty.]

[In all honesty, Genesis would feel absolutely ashamed if he couldn't lead his subordinate in something as simple as a dance. With his experience dancing with curvaceous women such as Yoko and Carmine, dancing with Valentine was no problem as well. Once in a while, there'd be a little brush up against her bosom, but Genesis doesn't stutter or become embarrassed. Instead, he just smiles, apologizes quickly and continues with the dance.]

[niptuck]

[Genesis is getting an opportunity really. One dance for her and then slipping out to work. Each time there's a brush and apology, she just glanced at him... at first. After the most recent, she chuckles]

By now, another woman might say you're doing that on purpose.

[recitings]

[At that remark, Genesis chuckles.]

Honestly, if I really wanted to feel them, I'd try to pull you closer to me. But if the way I'm brushing against is more uncomfortable than being against me all the while, we do have that option to explore. But believe me when I say that I do want to be on my best behavior tonight.

[niptuck]

[Now she chuckles]

Too bad. I need to remain on my best behavior until midnight.

[recitings]

Why so? Am I tempting you to stray away from your duties?

[Genesis chuckles. It felt funny to be flirting with a gorgeous lady such as Valentine again, but he did have to admit that it was a feeling he sorely missed.]

[niptuck]

Maybe. Unfortunately, the job comes first, but past midnight, I'm free.

[She flirts sometimes, but it's always a one-night stand. Relationships are interruptions.]

[recitings]

Oh, I can understand that.

[And he twirls her, and pulls her in so her back was to him as they swayed.]

... now you're tempting me.

[niptuck]

[She laughs as she looks back at him]

Does that bothering you? You're always free to say no.

[recitings]

A little temptation never bothered me.

[And he grins. He really had missed exchanges like this.]

[niptuck]

Ahaha...

[Now's her turn to brush] And the last time you gave into temptation?

[recitings]

Months ago, really. Before I made my partnership with Edgeworth official.

[niptuck]

You don't seem pent up, but I'm not performing a full physical right now.

[recitings]

[And that makes him chuckle.]

Do you think that calls for a closer examination, nurse?

[niptuck]

Oh yes. I'll have to write you in for an appointment.

[recitings]

[And that makes him grin now.]

Ah... but I'll have to make some time for that.
