Tonight, the park is full of life. Lights show the way towards the swimming pool, where you can find large white tents set up, all connected to each other. Music, loud chatter and laugher come from them, and inside you may find Guests and Natives enjoying the night together, a rare sight after recent events happening in the City. But tonight, all of that is to be forgotten. Maybe.

Welcome to the Summer Gala.

Feel free to leave your coat by the Coat room, listening to music (some songs are even played by Guests such as Karina, Shinji, Nanami, Hamel and John), dance together (don’t forget the Partner’s dance!), enjoy good food and good drinks, and perhaps after take a stroll by the swimming pool and the park.

That's why Saya moves outside towards the swimming pool. She takes off her high heels and eventually she sits by the edge of the swimming pool, feet feeling the water.

Even if she was alright after all that happened (being kidnapped, attacking her partner and her friends), she is still very tired -if not shaken- by it, but she opts to pretend nothing is wrong.

Though, she can't always keep that up, can she? Now that she finally has a moment alone, her mind does wander to think about the recent events ]

[now it was senji's turn to feel like it was all too hot and stuffy being inside with everyone else, not like he was someone that even liked being around all those kinds of people. it was just... hard since he barely knew anyone here, after all.

at this time of night he had ditched the jacket of his suit, a beer still in his hand, but he eventually spotted the girl and the swimming pool.]

Damn... wish I woulda known about this sooner.

[he was referring to the pool, of course. he was still a ways away from her (talking to girls wasn't exactly his thing) but he knelt down, a hand going to touch the water as he set his drink down.]

...Probably could have done some laps in here. [always thinking about working out.]

[ when she hears a man's voice, Saya turns her head to look at Senji, blinking.

She shrugs lightly ] There are a lot of interesting places in Death City, people just don't think about checking them out.

And why do you think that is? Too busy stayin' inside and rotting?

[basically. and he's been inside for other seven years, he's had about enough of that.]

Or maybe people prefer to complain they don't find any interesting place instead of actually looking for one. [ she shrugs ]

Yeah, that could be it too, seems like people just like to find shit to complain about, but they never help themselves, always trying to suck the life out of others before pushing themselves forward.

[he chuckles lightly, moving his hand around in the water again.]

...Humans are pretty pathetic.

She doesn't really disagree, though. Saya has a pretty grim image of humanity, lately ]

[he's not too sure himself anymore.]

...Dunno 'bout that, maybe a mutant? Hah! I haven't grouped myself in with the rest of society for a long ass time.

Where do you group yourself in, then?

[there was a momentary pause between her question and his answer, but he eventually said it.]

A deadman. [he laughed lightly, knowing she wouldn't get it.] Someone that could give two shits about other humans that don't even try and help themselves, that are always clinging to one another like flocks of fuckin' sheep.

And it's someone that was expected to never have a future.

"A deadman"? With that sort of name, it's hard to believe there is a future there. [ Saya closes her eyes and tilts her head back, playing with the water ]

People will cling to each other because they know they can't live alone. We are a social kind of animal, regardless of how alone one says they are.

of course, some idiots take that to extremes.

...Heh, it's why the people that can't even stand on their own two feet shouldn't be trying to cling to someone else, you know?

[he's from a place where it's all about survival of the fittest, at least inside DW.]

They will become a hindrance. [ she only mutters that.

However - ] Anyone can become valuable with the right motivation, though.

[ try a zombie apocalypse. No one can survive one completely alone. Survival of the fittest, yes, but not even the fittest will be completely safe.

[With one thing and another (mainly the Gala and the Gala again), Keroro hadn't had much of a chance to talk to Saya properly. It didn't help that he was kind of worried about the bruises.

Approaching hesitantly, he twiddles his thumbs, looking down at the still water of the pool.]

Saya-dono? Do you mind if I sit down, de arimasu?

[sayatakagi]

[ Keroro, she will cry if she sees you.

The girl turns her head at the familiar voice ]

Ah, Keroro... [ she shakes her head ] I don't mind, go ahead.

[ Saya wraps her arms around him, into a hug.

[Keroro settles into her hug, reaching up to pat her a few times on the back.]

It's okay, Saya-dono. Everything will be fine, de arimasu.

[ Saya stays like that for a minute or so. Because she really needed a hug, even if she says she is fine.

After, she lets go ]
