Tonight, the park is full of life. Lights show the way towards the swimming pool, where you can find large white tents set up, all connected to each other. Music, loud chatter and laugher come from them, and inside you may find Guests and Natives enjoying the night together, a rare sight after recent events happening in the City. But tonight, all of that is to be forgotten. Maybe.

Welcome to the Summer Gala.

Feel free to leave your coat by the Coat room, listening to music (some songs are even played by Guests such as Karina, Shinji, Nanami, Hamel and John), dance together (don’t forget the Partner’s dance!), enjoy good food and good drinks, and perhaps after take a stroll by the swimming pool and the park.

But please, don’t forget to thank your hosts, Keroro’s and Eve’s Metokkori R and Hikan Café, and thank Cupid, Lily’s Yesterday's Magic, Hyoubu’s World’s End, Condesce’s Betty Crocker Bakery and the Watch for all their help. Hmm. [well he believes him now!? so that's good. he keeps a steady rhythm of movement up until the song ends.]

[tauborn]

[He's practically leaning on his friend by the time the song closes and a few of the couples around them break apart to clap politely for the musicians. Slightly startled, Takuto pulls back, the comfortable feeling vanishing as reality starts to seep back in.]

Um, right. Well. Thank for the dance. [A small frown because technically Sugata asked him so Sugata should be thanking him, so--] I mean, you're welcome. [And there's a slight blush to go with his rushed words, because why is he so flustered about this?]

[peacocked]

[he does his best to hold in his snickers.] No, thank you for dancing with me. And it was my pleasure. We'll have to do this again the next time there's a ball.

[tauborn]

[His frown deepens and his blush rises.] N-no we don't have to.

[But he probably wouldn't really be so against it. In some weird way, he has the feeling the short dance is the thing that will make all the difference the next time they try to resonate.

... because he's actually suddenly thinking of wanting to resonate with Sugata again, and fix whatever went wrong last time.]

[peacocked]

[he shakes his head and smiles at the other.] Well alright then. We won't.

[tauborn]

Sugata... [He drops his eyes to the floor, letting the joking mood drop as well.] Do you still want to go on missions and things with me? I'd understand if you don't, but... but I think I'd like to try again.

[peacocked]

[he lightly nudges takuto's head with the knuckles of his index and middle fingers.] Of course I do. I still do.

[tauborn]

[It's only after his face has lit up in a rather radiant smile that he realizes he's still got his arms looped around Sugata's neck. He quickly removes them while nodding, trying to pretend he's not starting to blush again.] U-um, good. So we can start training together again. And stuff.

[peacocked]

[did he ever tell you that you'r radiant smiles sure are easy to catch? his smile broadens a little more as he nods at the other.] I wouldn't have it any other way.

[tauborn]

[Nope. He's never mentioned being a sucker for pretty boy smiles.] Okay. And um, let's never fight again, okay?

[peacocked]

['cause they are. they totally are.] I can promise you that, so long as you can promise me that you won't keep me at an arms distance again.

[tauborn]

I already said I wouldn't! [He gives Sugata a light shove. He knows better now, that he's much happier when he has people like Yako and Sugata in his life.]

[peacocked]

I'm just making sure. [and he likes giving the other a hard time. yup.]

[tauborn]

[Jerk.

But he grins anyway, his smile turning a little bit more mischievous as the music starts up again. It's a faster tempo, the rhythm something bordering on a Latin beat. His hand closes around Sugata's.]

It's my turn to lead now.

[He is totally going to twirl you at his first opportunity.]

[peacocked]

[he looks up in shock. but is quick to follow takuto's lead] And I thought you didn't want to dance anymore.

[tauborn]

No. I meant I don't want to dance the girl's part again. [It's your turn to suffer! In a way that's not at all like suffering.... But if Takuto's cheeks are turning slightly pink, it's probably because he's enjoying himself more than he has a right to for a simple prank.]

Besides, you're not that bad at it. You've got more practice as a girl than me, anyway. [He's careful of Sugata's cast, but other than that he's going to put his friend through his paces. Not that Takuto remembers all the steps to a dance like this, so he's going to make some up. And twirl his friend liberally.

In fact, here's the first opportunity to give Sugata a spin.]

[peacocked]

Well then you should be more clear next time. [not that he didn't know, because he had a feeling the other wouldn't mind doing this again. but it helps when you be more clear with things. he lightly flicks takuto's ear.] Being and acting are two different things, Takuto. And I'm not a method actor. But thank you, I... suppose.

[and before he can say anything else he is spun around.]

[tauborn]

[He twitches a little at the ear flick, failing to dodge the attack and sticking out his tongue in retaliation. After the spin he looks just a bit more satisfied.]

You're welcome. And see? You're better than me and you've got a broken arm.

[peacocked]

[he just stares at takuto. really? really.] Keep it up Tsunashi and I'll back out of your play.

[tauborn]

[That shuts him up pretty quick, and he immediately finds something other than Sugata's face to look at. Like, wow, what pretty dancers there are out here... or, boy, they sure went all out with the decorations.... And time for a subject change!]

You know, it's not often we get to celebrate something around here. It's pretty nice.

[peacocked]

[he hums quietly as he continues to follow takuto's lead.]

Do you know what we're celebrating?

[tauborn]

[He gives his friend a raised eyebrow in response, though his words are a little too quiet. His dancing slows just a bit, still keeping with the tempo but just with a little less energy.]

I'm pretty sure we're celebrating the fact that we're alive.

[peacocked]

Oh? [ah, well.... that did make a little bit of sense. he just feels weird that he didn't... realize it sooner ahahalskfjsd.]

[tauborn]

[Though to be honest, Takuto is just guessing. Seeing the somewhat surprised--or perhaps sheepish (though what does a sheepish Sugata look like anyway?)--look on his friend's face, he shrugs.]

Or maybe we're celebrating summer? I don't know if that's a thing to celebrate when we live in the desert, though.

[the world may never know what a sheepish sugata looks like. or perhaps takuto will, but he won't know what to call it.]

That might be a little more likely. And just because we live on a tiny desert doesn't mean we can't celebrate summer. Would you say the same thing about the island back home?
