Tonight, the park is full of life. Lights show the way towards the swimming pool, where you can find large white tents set up, all connected to each other. Music, loud chatter and laugher come from them, and inside you may find Guests and Natives enjoying the night together, a rare sight after recent events happening in the City. But tonight, all of that is to be forgotten. Maybe.

Welcome to the Summer Gala.

Feel free to leave your coat by the Coat room, listening to music (some songs are even played by Guests such as Karina, Shinji, Nanami, Hamel and John), dance together (don’t forget the Partner’s dance!), enjoy good food and good drinks, and perhaps after take a stroll by the swimming pool and the park.

[Despite still being a little disoriented from having just returned that morning, Cupid figured there was no better way to get back into the swing of life in Death City than by making sure all her planning for the Gala didn't go to waste. Thankfully the dress she'd had made for the occasion didn't need adjusting to fit her wings, so that was one less thing to worry about overall. Hair pinned up and back in a mass of bright pink curls, nails painted and shoes carefully done up, she made her way to the Gala with only the slightest bit of hesitation.

Once inside the main tent, she fiddled nervously with the gold bracelet on her wrist and then made her way into the crowd, mindful not to hit anyone with her new wings.]

[When he catches sight of Cupid out of the corner of his eye, he brightens slightly and turns to greet her.]

Hey, Cu--

[No, wait, something isn't right. That's not Cupid. Wait, maybe it is?

Enjoy having Sasha stand there awkwardly as he tries to figure out if it really is Cupid or just walk away like he hadn't confused a stranger for someone else.

[Cupid blinks in surprise at the sudden stop, but shrugs her shoulders and raises a hand, fluttering her fingers in greeting.]

Hey Sasha. Didn't think you'd show up to a party this big.

Never doubt Yako's ability to drag me into unlikely situations. [Without skipping a beat:] You...got a makeover.

[She blinks at the bluntness for a moment, then gives a half-smile and a slight shrug, amused.]

I got reassigned, and the old look would have made me stick out like a siren in a flock of harpies.

[She does give her wings an idle twitch, cocking her head.]

I kind of like it, honestly.

Ah. I've been through that, too.

[But despite understanding, he still seems a bit...disappointed?]

So it sent you back?

[If she picks up on it, she's certainly not going to say anything about it.]

Mm-hmm. For a year or so- a pretty eventful one if I do say so myself.

A whole year? We just spoke a few days ago.

I know, it's a little crazy but... well. That's the way going home works here, I guess. I'm not really surprised by the temporal dissonance- it's actually pretty handy, all things considered. I'd hate to disappear for a whole year.

I'm glad you came back, Cupid. I would have missed you. [Pause.] When you went back...did you remember us?

Really? [Her face immediately settles into an 'awww' sort of expression.] That's sweet, Sasha.

[But her expression sinks a little and she shakes her head.]

No, unfortunately. It's weird... I thought I might, all things considered.
