Tonight, the park is full of life. Lights show the way towards the swimming pool, where you can find large white tents set up, all connected to each other. Music, loud chatter and laugher come from them, and inside you may find Guests and Natives enjoying the night together, a rare sight after recent events happening in the City. But tonight, all of that is to be forgotten. Maybe.

Welcome to the Summer Gala.

Feel free to leave your coat by the Coat room, listening to music (some songs are even played by Guests such as Karina, Shinji, Nanami, Hamel and John), dance together (don’t forget the Partner’s dance!), enjoy good food and good drinks, and perhaps after take a stroll by the swimming pool and the park.

[ Beer. that's all the drinks. And honestly, American beer sucks but it's better than nothing. And he sure is underage according to American law, but he told the bartender if he was old enough to kill kishin eggs and eat their souls, he is old enough to drink beer.

So far, that trick works. ]

Beerin' it? [ Duo looks amused, at least, and probably about ready to drink a pack of those himself. He's enjoying it - don't get him wrong - but a lot of people in one space is a prime way to make him nervous as hell about who all might be in the area or even near him in general. ]

I could use about ten, right now.

[ Matt turns his head when he hears Duo's voice and a smile conmes to his lips ]

Wow. You look like James Bond. [ he can't help but to add a small laugher. ]

Yeah well, everywhere's a chance to catch someone's eye. [ he laughs right along with him, smiling at the bar tender in a way that says he'll be shaking them down for a drink, later, but right about now he just wanted to be charming and see if he could get away with it. ]

Can't blame you for lingering at the bar, though. Too many people for my blood, out and about.

[ matt's eyes move to the bartender and the redhead grabs his glass and shakes it, requesting a refill ] Put tequila on it this time?

[ the answer was "no" to Tequila, but he did refill matt's glass with beer. ]

Funny, how I am old enough to kill witches and get murdered by them. But not old enough to get pissed. [ that's a British slang for drunk ]

Chill, man, he'll come to like you eventually. [ Duo just smiles, ever the professional type of guy to get things out of other people, if it's at all allowed. But then again, that was his job for the first 15 years of his life, so why wouldn't be continue the trend in Death City? ]

Spend some quality time with the bar tender - you'll be seeing triples soon enough.

I doubt that. I'm Irish, I don't get drunk.

[ matt chuckles, pretty sure of himself.

But he does wish he could get something stronger than beer ]

Everybody gets drunk, man, even Irish guys. Trust me on that. [ A few raucous parties on a Sweeper ship had proven that much to him, at least. That, and that even Gundam pilots could get drunk if they really wanted to and allowed themselves to be. ]

Could I bug you for a shot of whiskey, man? [ One of those oh-so-sweet smiles, and well.. there's shortly a glass in front of him. ] See, ya just gotta turn on the grin a little, man.

[ Matt reaches for the small glass, though, so he can drink it ]

And I don't smile to strangers. I'm too beautiful for that, they'd be all awed and I wouldn't be able to get rid of them.

Or maybe because I'm not sittin here bitchin' at him. [ Duo laughs, allowing Matt the small glass and asking for another for himself with that same sickly sweet smile. he knew he was a charmer, when he wanted to be, and right about now he could stand to buy Matt a few drinks and call it a day. ]

Yeah okay. They'll be so charmed by your smile they'll forget about everything else.

[ Matt turns to Duo and calls him to look at Matt ] Come here, look at me. I will show you.

But if you swoon and flail, it won't be my fault.

Yeah okay, swoon me, Romeo. But if I lean in and kiss your face off it's all your fault. [ Duo just smirks, turning to stare at Matt intently, challenging him to do something that might challenge him, or something like that. ]</small.

Okay, I'm gonna do it. [ deep theatrical sigh and an intense staring contest follows for about 3 seconds.

And then Matt does the SMOULDER ]

[ Duo is curious as to what Matt could possibly pull out of his hat to make him melt at the knees. After all, not much really got to him, when it came to expressions or... whatever it was that Matt could pull out of his hat, today. Though, when he pulls out the smolder...

Sorry, Matt, but Duo will just bust out laughing. ]

A-Are you serious, right now?

[ Duo. Never take Matt seriously. ]

Totally, isn't it obvious?

Is that's supposed to wet panties or whatever, you're failing, man.. [ But he's laughing, regardless, the smile lingering on his face. ]

Ah, you are just saying that because you can barely handle all this swag, man. [ Matt laughs ]

Yeah, that's totally it. Me and my James Bond jacket are just so shaken and unable to control ourselves at your level of attractiveness.

Drink a bit more and I'll be the most charming asshole in this joint. [ he smirks ]

Yeah okay. I might be drunk in a little while but I won't be that stupid drunk. [ Duo laughs, lightly, in response to that smirk, rolling his eyes. The banter was fun, at least, and distracting him from his current situation as well, which was also a bonus. ]
