Tonight, the park is full of life. Lights show the way towards the swimming pool, where you can find large white tents set up, all connected to each other. Music, loud chatter and laugher come from them, and inside you may find Guests and Natives enjoying the night together, a rare sight after recent events happening in the City. But tonight, all of that is to be forgotten. Maybe.

Welcome to the Summer Gala.

Feel free to leave your coat by the Coat room, listening to music (some songs are even played by Guests such as Karina, Shinji, Nanami, Hamel and John), dance together (don’t forget the Partner’s dance!), enjoy good food and good drinks, and perhaps after take a stroll by the swimming pool and the park.

Ah, I didn't realize you were here, Duo. *Alucard is dressed quite smartly in a black pinstripe suit complete with hat and red tie. He doesn't comment on Duo's choice of drink as he himself is sipping at a pale ale.*

Eh, I figured I might as well show up for a little while, you know? Mingle in society and all. [ Though, things like this were still not his 'scene', that much he still thinks is painfully obvious. ]

That is...more or less why I came. At the same time, it is gratifying to see some people who can be happy in the middle of this grinding war.

Eh, everyone can be happy where there's food, drink, and liquor. [ He shrugs, remembering plenty of parties even during the war he'd been in before this where it was like all knowledge of battles going on, and the lot, were forgotten as soon as people walked in among the smell of food and the glitter of fancy dresses and jewelry. ]

But it's good to forget for a little while. Can't expect everyone to obsess over the stuff for long, you know?

This is true. One needs some break in and amongst the fighting.

You'd get tired way too fast, if you didn't. [ He smiles, then, thinking about how even they had breaks between high stress missions. Even the doctors who weren't really supposed to give them breaks had done so, which in itself had been a small miracle. ]

I've been alright. Working and trying to balance that with, you know, being a teenager. What about you?

Working, going on missions and trying to avoid being clubbed in the head again by unruly rioting people. *Lord, that was embarrassing to be knocked out so early at the Agency.*

Well that shouldn't really be too hard... Considering I haven't heard of a riot in the streets in a while now, thankfully. [ After all, he'd been in soldier mode for a long time, after that little incident, spooked about what might happen if he let his guard down for too long, now that it was just him and the dog in the little apartment he'd once rented with Trowa. ]

That was pretty wild, though. Never expected that kinda thing here..

Me either. I've had to learn how to deal with crowds of people so I know what to expect should it ever occur again.
