Description: Karkat is moving. Gai wants to cheer up his perpetually grumpy friend. Anyone can have seen Gai's post on the network and drop by.



It didn't take many stealth skills at all to plan this party. The filters on the devices made things very easy, and with the labor as greatly divided as it was Gai didn't even have to haul a whole bunch of stuff to where Karkat would be moving in.

Picking the lock was the work of moments and then Gai was in the apartment, starting to set up. Soon others would join him to help prepare, and hopefully Karkat would be slow enough in returning that he would only come when everything was ready. Gai would hope, at least.

Cheshire arrived early to the party he decided to crash so that he could be very helpful.

[ANNND John's realizing that putting up streamers with one arm is a bit of a challenge!!

With some thinking, he's managed to make do by donut-rolling the tape and sticking it on before he steps on the chair to hang the streamers up. With his arm in a sling, he probably should have just let someone else do this while he set up food or something, but now that he's started, it's almost FUN seeing how many he can get up with just one arm. As his dad might say, it builds character!!]

[Rose has actually come to this party for a very specific reason - to drop off a 'present' designed to subtly hint to Karkat to keep his mouth firmly shut about anything damaging he might have picked up during their resonation.

Either way, he's telling you that Karkat has dubbed this a Mad Tea Party and offering you a cup.]

Yeah, that's pretty much what Yugo's doing right now. He's sitting on the floor, criss-cross applesauce with tons of empty cups. Artificial sweetness is so good oh my god.]

And Gai's mingling around, trying to make sure everyone's having fun and enjoying themselves without causing harm to Karkat's new place. It's very nice to see so many here; it's promising. There's clearly still a chance of getting along and working together.

[Gai is cleaning up behind people as well, trying to make sure not to get in Monk's way but also hoping Monk doesn't wind up over-worked. He wouldn't leave Karkat's place a mess, after all. Not from a surprise party especially.]

By the time everyone had left and the apartment was thoroughly cleaned by Gai and Monk, it was well after midnight. There was little point in going on patrol now, and someone else was covering for them. This would give Karkat time to unpack more of his things at his own pace, and they could at least arrive at the morning training early.

Selendis really hadn't moved out from her corner by the balcony, mostly out of comfort, but if he needed help she wouldn't hesitate to do so. So for now she sat with her legs folded under her, watching Karkat rearrange his 'hive'.

"I must say that Maito Gai did his job well. There is no trace that anyone else was even here." Aside from the trash bags piled up outside the front door, anyways.

"Yeah..." Karkat hated to admit it, but she was right. Gai had done a great job, and together they'd been able to muscle Monk out the door or something. Shame about patrol, but Roy had been here too so at least they wouldn't even have to explain themselves.

He picks up a terrarium with a small live crab in it, which he'd hidden in his room during the party, and sets it up in the main living area. "I hate to admit it, but the people who actually bothered to stay and clean didn't do a completely terrible job."
