[ OPEN ] August 2012 Introduction Log
Characters: OPEN to new arrivals and NPCS.
Where: En route to Casualty Communal
Rating: Gen
Time: March 12 onwards
Description: Welcome to Death City!
It had been a little over a week since the sandstorm, and thus a little over a week since the last batch of newcomers. When the readings indicated that BREW was activating again so quickly, it was a bit of a scramble to get everything prepared. The last time it activated before then was early February, so this really was a small time frame. It had been some time since that happened.
But everyone dutifully prepared just in time for the first arrivals. It was also a relatively good day despite the past few rain showers. At least things were much calmer now.
[ooc: Player characters will also be joining the log. Everything after the sub thread Soul Perception is open to all characters.
Quick navigation: Kishin Chamber | Around/Outside Shibusen | Around Death City | Casualty Communal | Soul Perception | Open Thread]

OPEN THREAD
[closed] Takuto + Sora
Firecracker had frozen for about three minutes, refusing to budge while he sniffed the air. And then, without warning, the puppy had put his nose to the ground and bolted, tearing the leash from Takuto's hand. The lab disappeared towards Shibusen, leaving Takuto trailing after him anxiously.
The puppy's destination was Sora. And once he got there he was going to leap onto the boy, lick him all over the face, and then bark and wag his tail so happily he'd fall over multiple times.
[closed] Takuto + Sora
Sora saw the puppy coming right at him. Catching the pup easily enough, he started to laugh from all of the licking. "Hey! That tickles!"
On the bright side, the little guy was friendly. Friendly, Sora could manage.
no subject
"Uh, sorry about my dog, he usually never--"
And that was when Firecracker moved just far enough away for Takuto to get a good look at who he was talking to. His eyes grew wide as he stared at the other boy and then suddenly a radiant grin spread across his face.
"SORA!"

[OPEN]
That was when Barricade discovered he couldn't transform. He just stood at the top of the stairs, staring down them as if they'd committed some heinous sin against him, flexing his claws in barely suppressed rage. This place was the Pit.]
OPEN
what's sort of eating at him at the moment is the not remembering things. if he's been here before, it's not really fair that he should forget everything. actually, what it means is that Sora is starting to get the idea that he should find everyone that COULD know him and try to be friends with them all over again.
at least, that's the idea. but he has no real destination in mind now as he walks through the park.
which is probably why he's now looking pretty dang lost. oops. ]
Re: OPEN
Either way, there wasn't really much for him to do right now, he didn't have Soul Perception and anyone could just press a button for the machine. And even then, the reactions that he got wouldn't really be conductive to getting used to this place. Either they recognized him as some famous cartoon character... or they freaked out about him being a giant talking mouse.
So yeah, that'd make things a bit difficult for him to help out with the already panicking new arr--- wait a second, was that SORA!? When did he get back here?
Either way, Mickey wasn't going to care right now, he was running right up to him.*
Sora!
no subject
[ yeah, he's heard his name being called. Sora turns his around, looking for the source of the voice. his eyes land on his running friend and there he goes, grinning. ]
Your Majesty!
[ Mickey won't have to run all the way, because Sora is sprinting the remaining difference. ]
You're here?
no subject
I sure am! I was wondering when you, Riku, and Kairi were going to show up here again. Somehow I just missed you last time you got here, since you got sent back right when it brought me.
*Mickey shakes his head.*
Anyway, how've ya been? Are any of the others with you?

[OPEN] Set after everybody's been through Soul Perception.
[He hurts his hand and the tree shakes a bit, losing a few leaves as a result. Otherwise, both man and tree are unharmed.]
[He takes a deep breath, letting it out slowly. He feels better now.]

Death City itself is an intriguing sight. It was a city, but more quaint and bold and forward with its very own concentrated, vivid character than the shiny-polished metropoli of, say, the Citadel or Illium. It benefitted there from being smaller, less noise to drown out small touches and hints of interest, even if that meant less space for its population to move through and fewer places to expect to be able to step out of the streets and retreat to in privacy.
As for Nevada, in all of Thane's travels, he hadn't been to Earth before, even if this is a different Earth. And in fact - fate's small favors - this is the first time he's really been to the desert. Along and before the tour, he'd looked out at the enormous sheer open spaces and geometric rocks pooling on out of sight around the city. So much space, and so much air - he'd taken a few deep breaths on his first look out and felt surprisingly clean. Pure and relatively dry air.
He misses the tree-punching, mind you, so forgive the approach, but he does happen on Six, who he thinks he remembers catching a glimpse of in the room, which brings the odd storybook-cultishly-decorated toilet-centered scene back to mind, which would be enough to get an average person's curiosity to sneak in in front of peace of mind.]
...In the Soul Perception room.
Was that - standard procedure?
no subject
[He remembers seeing you in there, but he hadn't gotten the chance to talk to you.]

[Which here is short for "I see why." But the first day is probably a little early to go being critical.
While he's interacting with someone who he may be able to pick up a little more information from...]
If I may ask, are you a Weapon, or a Meister?

Hey. [Shades meet shades, and he's pretty sure he recognizes the guy from the golden toilet place with the weird posters, looking like the most normal thing he's seen yet. Which also makes him stand out a little bit, but no one ever said a suit paired with shades was a low-profile kind of combination]
Gonna go out on a limb here [The accompanying smile is quick and easy. Suits aren't well known for their sense of humor, but anyone can appreciate a bad pun] And say you're not with SHIELD.
no subject
Sorry. Wasn't aware this tree was occupied. [Was he really that distracted? Damn Excalibur.]
[He nods in response to the assumption.] Don't even know what it is, to be honest. I work for Providence.
[It doesn't take Soul Perception to tell this is a professional like him.]

[That's probably too much to hope for, though.]

too late.
SORRY LIZ, he's still in the room trying to rid of that sword's horrid sense of interior decor and to set everything right again.]
no subject
Really? I know people call them "thrones", but an actual toilet?

Not something for Sion. Being brutally efficient as always, she had already calculated the long term damage and benefits this entire situation might mean to her. Believing it wasn't a concern since it was all right in front of her eyes.
With everything over, Sion was definitely ready for...whatever fate had in store for her. All she needed to do was turn it into her favor. Maybe someone had information about vampires or other immortal beings that she could use.
The problem was asking people questions....or looking approachable at all with the stern glare she cast at everyone.]
no subject
...she was glad Six warned her about the sun. It was unsettling.]
no subject
But she wasn't rude enough to just stand there and let her go on by. Sion approached with a raised hand, of course.]

Memories instantly come to mind of another white furred animal he had the pleasure of knowing before someone went and crossed a horrible line that brought that creature's life and that of his daughter's to an end.]
