It had been a little over a week since the sandstorm, and thus a little over a week since the last batch of newcomers. When the readings indicated that BREW was activating again so quickly, it was a bit of a scramble to get everything prepared. The last time it activated before then was early February, so this really was a small time frame. It had been some time since that happened.

But everyone dutifully prepared just in time for the first arrivals. It was also a relatively good day despite the past few rain showers. At least things were much calmer now.

To be honest, your guess is as good as mine at the moment. I was trying to find her to act as my backup if you didn't pull out of your funk. She's probably back at the Manor though.

Hm...well I could track her down, but it's most likely that she is.

You're welcome. Now come on. We need to find Patty and get a clean up crew in here to get rid of all this junk.

[a clean up crew...might not do it right! but all the more reason to get Patty because someone might come along and do that just that.]

All right, hold on. Let's see if I can pick her up with my Soul Perception.

[because it would be nice if she was actually around Shibusen. tracking...tracking...where is she]

[Liz waits patiently as Kid does his thing. In the old days, she would be freaking out right now since she and Patty had always stayed side-by-side. She's still a bit unnerved, but she knows Patty is safe inside the barrier.]

You're right, she's at home.

She probably got bored with everything going on.

[Probably a good thing. Liz never wants to see what happens if you put Excalibur and Patty in a room together. Either they'd get along really well or Patty would be constantly trying to obliterate Excalibur. Either scenario did not bode well.]

We should get going, too, then.

[Gonna try and coax you away from all this mess.]

We can get a cleaning crew in here to get most of this junk out and then you can arrange things how you like them. How does that sound?

I'll give them specific instructions to just clean and to leave arrangement to you.

[The cleaning crew most likely won't put up a fuss. They know how their boss is. Fighting with him only drags it out.]

[and wow, he feels more exhausted now than he did before.]

[Victory! She is so going to treat herself to a new pair of shoes for successfully avoiding a full-on breakdown.]

Let's get home then. I don't know about you, but I'm beat after hunting all over the place for Patty.

I'm only staying long enough to make sure Patty hasn't done anything to the mansion.

Yeah, yeah, I hear you. [Doesn't mean she agrees to it. She will find a way to make you sit down and relax for a few minutes, mister! But for now, she doesn't want to argue with him until they're at the mansion.]

[and off to the mansion they go! ...where hopefully Patty hasn't wrecked things out of boredom.]

My Liz sense keeps making me want to have her nudge him to eat and sleep. 8|

[She easily keeps up with him--Longer legs, ftw!--and she's simultaneously sending a text to the cleaning crew guy they usually use with the instructions. At least this means that there will be one less thing for Kid to fret over before he goes to bed.]

You think we should pick up dinner on the way or just order something? It's a bit late to make it now.

It's getting there. Plus if Patty's hungry? We'd need to make or get something fast.

[She does not want to have to deal with a fight on top of everything else. :|]

I suppose picking up something along the way may be the best alternative then.

Not really. Whatever you want or whatever we pass by is fine. We'd just have to make it close to the mansion or switch to Beelzebub so we can get there so it's still hot.

And then how would I carry the food while maintaining that balance?

Well, I could stay in human form and ride behind you. If I hold onto you and you hold onto the food with both hands, that'd make you more symmetrical, right?

[She's not as fond of the idea as Patty is though.]

You realize how impractical that sounds, right? With Patti it may be more feasible since we're closer in height, but you...
