It had been a little over a week since the sandstorm, and thus a little over a week since the last batch of newcomers. When the readings indicated that BREW was activating again so quickly, it was a bit of a scramble to get everything prepared. The last time it activated before then was early February, so this really was a small time frame. It had been some time since that happened.

But everyone dutifully prepared just in time for the first arrivals. It was also a relatively good day despite the past few rain showers. At least things were much calmer now.

[it's a little imbalanced...but even he can't deny the fact that extra cheese on pizza is actually pretty good.]

[It totally is. Anyone who tries to deny it has no taste buds.]

Extra pepperoni for Patti. Other than that? No real preference.

...Well if one pizza has extra pepperoni then the other needs to as well.

[Yeah, she was wondering when that'd pop up.]

I'm fine with that. I'll just pick it off if it bugs me. Maybe have extra cheese on both, too?

[Might as well his quirk to her advantage.]

The other wasn't going to have extra cheese?

[Liz, how could you think otherwise.]

[She sighs and puts a hand to her head.]

Right. Of course.

[and they're walking. for once since that horrible welcoming, Kid is actually rather calm, all thoughts of Excalibur gone.

well for the moment, anyway.]

[Everything's going so well that it's making Liz a bit paranoid. She keeps expecting things to go wrong.]

[Well, here comes the pizza place. Here's hoping things don't suddenly get insane.]

[fortunately the pizza place is by now well acquainted with this particular customer's order.

except there's a new person on deck.

quick, Liz, intercept!]

I'll order for us. [It'll be less of a headache that way.]

[Assuming Kid doesn't fuss about it, she's going to walk over towards the newbie and see if she can order the pizzas to Kid's exacting specifications...or at least ask to speak to one of the regular guys who handles their orders.]

Wait, are you su—

[and she's off. ...okay, well, he'll just. wait. since he'll be paying, anyway.

...and may be idly going around to the tables to straighten up the napkin holders and other things.]

[She glances back at him, seeing him preoccupied with the napkin holders and tables. She then gives her best smile to the guy at the counter.]

Hey, this is going to sound weird, but we need two medium pizzas, both with the same amount of extra cheese and extra pepperoni. They also need to be precisely the same size and cut in perfect eighths.

If either Antonio or Mark is around, could you ask one of them to do it? Just tell them it's for the Gallows Manor. They've done pizzas for us before.

[new guy is like "what." but good news! Mark's around so he'll just. look both at her and at the strange guy messing with the condiments and napkins before going back to give the order.

it'll be like 15 minutes or so so just hang tight.

Kid, meanwhile, will be staring at one of their hanged posters. ...it looked off, but..hm...hard to tell...]

[Some days Liz wonders if she's his Weapon or his babysitter. They should've called ahead.]

[She walks over to him and puts a hand on each shoulder. She doesn't want to have to deal with him freaking over something on only one side.]

Let's go sit down. It'll be fifteen minutes or so.

[She needs to come up with a distraction, but her mind's drawing a blank.]

Uh huh...

[a rare casual response as he just continues to stare at that poster. ...]

Liz, do you have a ruler or a leveler with you?

I'm surprised you don't. [However, she's shaking her head in the negative.] Just relax, Kid. Tell me how your group went in the kishin chamber.

[She needs to get something to distract him. Darn it.]

Due to all the rush, I neglected to carry the one I normally have.

[silent sob.]

As for the kishin chamber, it went as usual.

[complaints, questions, introductions, etc.]

How usual? Come on, give me details, Kid. [Please give her something to work with. She glances at the clock. Has it only been a minute?]

[just arches a brow.]

There really wasn't anything to note, really. The number was a bit smaller than usual, so I wonder if that has anything to do with the rather short time period between this and the last group.

[it was definitely an interesting thought, anyway.]

I guess the only really "interesting" thing would be the giant robot that also came in.

Wait. Time out. Did you say "giant robot"?

Yes.

I'm fairly certain we had at least one or two come through before.

Yeah, but it's not like we get one of those every time.
