As he said he would, Kid was by the pool. He was already changed, but he still had a light red shirt on as he had really only stepped into the area to check in on the festivities before heading back into the lounge. At least it was open so he could easily take it off if he wanted to jump in?

Or be pushed in.

Yes, that is correct citizens and guests of Death City! The leader himself was pretty much wide open for a sudden push or tackle—repeatedly even. Even if someone pushed him in once, that does not mean he could not have a second (or third. or even fourth) dose of it when he eventually got out.

Or if someone wanted to have a casual conversation (pre- or post-dunking) that worked, too. But for now the unsuspecting young shinigami was walking around near the edge of the pool, making sure everything was in order.

"Ruf!"

Amaterasu had been wandering around the pool for a while, looking at all the guests coming to have fun and enjoy themselves when she noticed Kid from across the way. She was already a little wet herself, but that didn't stop her from running over to him and nudging his legs happily.

He heard her, but he still did not have time to react to sudden wet wolf goddess nudging at his legs.

"Hey—Amaterasu—!"

Quickly stepping back because wet. Well that was to be expected, but he was not planning to head into the pool yet so he was trying to stay as dry as possible.

It would just be too easy.

And Kid could use a little bit of fun, even if he didn't think he di. He shouts as he pushes the young leader in.

"SPLASHING ENTRANCE!!!"

"WAUG—!!!"

Yes, that was quite the graceful sound that came out of the young shinigami's mouth as he suddenly found himself pushed into the pool.

It takes him a few moments before he resurfaces, gasping for air before glaring up at him.

"Takuto!! What the hell do you think you're doing!??!"

The pool was about to hear some twin voice yelling going on.

Good luck keeping dry with a ninja who also happened to be clumsy headed in that direction, Kid. She really wasn't paying too much attention to where she was going and managed to trip over something before landing hard against Kid...

...And sending him into the pool.

Whoops.

"Kid! Are you okay?"

[ open ] doing all of this sequentially just makes this all the more hysterical.

Third time.

He was pushed into the pool three times in a row.

One would think he would have been prepared or would have just given up by now, but in this instance he just finished drying and had gotten a drink to take a break from the previous two and now—

By the time he resurfaced, he was starting to seriously consider just up and leaving.

"Yes...I'm fine," he said in a dry voice as he grabbed the edge of the pool and looked up at the ninja.

"Though with my current luck with getting knocked into this pool, I'm starting to debate whether I should just stay in it or leave entirely."

[Hiro contemplated pushing Kid into the pool, he really did. He was asking for it, really. But he decided that doing something like that to your leader wouldn't be very wise, so instead, he walks over with two drinks in hand.]

Hey, Kid.

[He's dressed in pink boy shorts, an open white t shirt, and he has a pair of shades on top of his head. All in all, he looks just as ridiculous as usual.

With a small smile on his face, he offers one of the iced drinks to the Shinigami.]

[oh good. NO NUMBER FOUR...yet. though Hiro what is with that outfit—]

Hiro.

[slight look of surprise as he turns before taking the drink.]

Thanks. I haven't seen you around in a while. How have you been?

Kanji, however, waited patiently. Oh so patiently.

From under the water, goggles over his eyes, all he saw were feet and the bottom half of every splash, a cascade of bubbles whenever someone jumped into the pool. He wouldn't discriminate, or even know who it was he was grabbing... but he had a rule: No grabbing someone who obviously looked like they were having difficulty.

But this person looked like they were okay at it. This would be his first target.

No sooner had Kid managed to surface from one of many people pushing him in did Kanji move in. There was no warning other than the feel of something grabbing his ankles. Fingers closed, and he moved, swimming outward and down, dragging his quarry with him.

The last time he got pushed in was by some random person, and again it was by accident. In fact the other person had been the intended victim and Kid had somehow gotten caught in the mess. So that was dunking number four.

But as he resurfaced, he suddenly felt something grab his ankles, dragging him down. Surprised he found himself flailing a bit.

However, Kanji may have been unlucky to choose Kid to pull under because he was going to give the guy a might kick in an attempt to free himself.

Death God. [He gives a slap on the back of the younger god, his heavy hand probably had enough pressure to trip him over] This tribute to me is magnificent!!

[...brilliant. he had been afraid of meeting Poseidon here. but he was not expecting the sudden slap of the back that made him jerk forward a step or two.

but when he had regained his balanced, he just gave a long, mental sigh, bracing himself as he turned to face the water god.]

I'm glad you seem to like it, but this is not a tribute to you, Poseidon.

Giving Kid a break from all the dunkings…

Sitting in the lounge area, Lily had noticed the repeated dunkings and was getting a little concerned. After the latest instance, she made her way over to Kid, looking somewhat out of place in a flowery vintage sundress.

“Are you okay?” The boy with the striped hair seemed vaguely familiar but she couldn’t recall a name. She had seen him when she first arrived in this strange city, hadn’t she? “And does this usually happen when y’all have a pool party?” Lily had never been to such an event before; the townspeople being scared of her powers had translated to a lack of invitations of any kind when she was young. With a little frown and a note of uncertainty in her voice, she glanced between Kid and the water.

“…It seems a bit more like torture.” It brought to mind the indicium aquae of the witch-burning days, throwing suspected witches into the sea to see if they floated... Plus, having been dragged under San Francisco Bay by La Llorona back home and falling into the waterways not once but twice during the earthquake here, the witch certainly wasn’t going to deliberately push anyone into the water.

oh thank god. self. ...something.

Still dripping wet—he had long lost his towel—Kid just shook his head a little as he brushed back his sopping wet hair. This. Was a complete nightmare. Seriously, did he have some kind of hex on him or what?

But when he heard Lily's approach, he glanced over at her before letting out a small sigh.

"It feels like torture," he said, unable to hide the dry tone in his voice. "But I'm fine, thank you. A little waterlogged, but fine."

Bakura himself, having watched poor Kid's unwilling in and out of the water, couldn't resist being a pain in a slightly different way. Coming back from having a quick bite to eat, he had mostly dried off, or at least his t-shirt had, his hair still soaked and an utter mess as it clung to the back of his neck. He did his best to carefully sneak up fairly close to Kid before speaking, hoping to at least startle him.

"Having fun?"

While normally Kid would have picked up on an incoming soul, he was too distracted trying to dry his hair with a towel. Four and a half times...four and a half—

So when Bakura did come up behind him, he was startled. In fact by now it was almost instinctive for him to flinch and try to step away from anyone, which is exactly what he did. However, because he was also a veteran fighter...

"You're not getting me this time!" he yelled as he whirled around and grabbed Bakura.

...He may or may not have unintentionally swung the boy toward the edge of the pool.

Six had been doing his best to practice using Soul Protect. Seeing Kid, he decided to test how well his practice was doing.

He got up from his spot and started walking carefully through the crowd. If he was alone and went off the "radar", it'd be noticeable. In a cluster of people, one less soul was unlikely to be noticed.

As he passed through the crowd, he activated Soul Protect before taking the long way towards, Kid. The dunkings were helping to serve as a distraction, but Six kept out of Kid's line of sight as much as possible.

As soon as he was close enough, he greeted Kid with a small smirk and a "Having fun?"

Yes, those dunkings were completely distracting the poor shinigami. He had no idea that Six was even there, so the sudden disappearance of the soul went by completely undetected.

The moment Six did speak, Kid jerked and turned, as if expecting yet another person trying to push him in. But realizing who it was, he frowned.

"Is it always a habit of yours to sneak up on people?" he asked in a dry voice. However, he did not relax just yet. Though he was a bit surprised to see the man even there at the pool (he just did not seem the type), he was still wary. Especially when he realized he could not pick up his soul, meaning Six had been practicing the use of his Soul Protect.

...Yes, now his life really was in danger. Danger of being pushed in by a mercenary. Who was supposed to be working for him.

[ Sophie's dressed in a one piece swimswuit with some small cat accessories and her hair tied up into two hair buns. She wasn't planning to go for a swim at the moment, especially since she had a camera, given to her from Rei, hanging off from her neck. She had been standing off to the side, watching Kid get dunked repeatedly. Maybe she took a few photos from the distance...

After the dunkings stop for now, she walks up to the shinigami to greet him, holding up her hands like paws. ]

...Meow, Kid.

[ ...She must be saying hello. ]

when she came up to him, Kid had to take a moment because he couldn't immediately recognize her. the whole. cat thing was throwing him off.]

Did Blair put you in that outfit?

[because that would make so much sense.]

Clover's hanging out by the pool, clad in her bikini. She's got a towel wrapped around herself for now, not ready to go in just yet, though she does spot someone by the edge of the pool who looks like he's about to. The white of his hair is kind of hard to miss, and she's just about to approach him, though someone else gets to him first.

--and they send they send him flying into the pool, of course.

That's rather unexpected; her eyes widen a bit in surprise, but she does have an amused expression on her face when she approaches him-- waiting for him to surface.

She watches as the "culprit" runs off in a laugh, and she has to suppress some laughter herself.

"Who was that?"

Some friend, if so.

If Bakura was number five (and a half), then this recent one would be number six. At this point Kid was starting to hope he would get hit twice more if only to reach eight. At least then he could have some solace. On the other hand, he honestly would not mind it just ending right then and there.

But as he surfaced and shook his head, he heard a voice and looked up to see...ah, Clover, wasn't it? At her question he just glanced past her where the culprit had likely taken off, but he just shook his head and sighed.

"Honestly I have no idea. You wouldn't have happened to seen who it was, would you?"

...I am just going to keep doing this forever ahahaha

[prosecutory]

[Well, Kid, someone feels your pain and will not subject you to that torture.

Edgeworth, still damp (from a recent push), tries to evade three kids who have decided to run past him, chasing each other and laughing and pretty much making it difficult for him to walk farther away from the pool. Unfortunately, kids these days are getting smarter, so just before Edgeworth could scold them and scold them good, they suddenly shove him together.

He overbalances, flails, and his yell is cut off when he makes quite the splash. One moment later, he surfaces, taking a deep, grateful breath and taking this time to just...steam. Why, oh why, could he never catch a break?]
