Hah! Victory!

Amaterasu grabbed the other end and dragged him out further into the pool.

[perfectorder]

"Wait—Hey!"

Seeing what she was doing, he immediately released the noodle.

"I'm not going to fall for your tricks, Amaterasu."

[motherofthesun]

Oh boo, you almost did.

She paddled back over and barked. Kid, what's up?

[perfectorder]

She pushed him in that was what was up.

But he just continued to give her a dry look as he tread water. "If you wanted to play, you could have done so without pushing me in first."

Though at this point he had resigned to his fate of being in the pool. Perhaps one last nudge of encouragement will loose him up enough to participate.

Nooot really. He tripped in on his own. She huffed at the accusation and gave him another nudge... with the noodle.

[perfectorder]

If she hadn't been running around, he wouldn't have tripped. Still her fault.

But he was going to just take that end of the noodle...and bend it enough to bop her on the head.

[motherofthesun]

That wasn't running... that was hopping!

She shook her head, but then flashed him a lop-sided grin again.

[perfectorder]

Close enough.

He just gave her a hard, even stare before finally, finally he cracked a small grin.

"All right," he relented. "I'm already in here and it's only proper for one to swim around and enjoy the pool."

[motherofthesun]

Okay, okay...

Oh finally! Getting him to grin is an accomplishment.

She gave his cheek a nuzzle and barked again, her tail wagging slowly due to the water's drag.

[perfectorder]

He blinked and had to close one eye as she suddenly nuzzled him, some water splashing him as she did.

"Okay, okay, I'll play with you," he said with a small laugh. Hm, when was the last time he did that? And when was the last time he said play?

But he could not help but reach over and gave the wolf goddess a little pat on the head, ruffling her ears a little as he did.

"What would you like to do?"

Since...playing with a dog in water was kind of new to him.

Mhm, always love those head pats.

At the suggestion of play, she woofed and grabbed the noodle again, fangs playfully gripping down on it harder. If there were any other pool toys, that would be fine.

[perfectorder]

Seeing her grab the noodle, he had to wonder if she was trying to play tug with him.

So as an experiment, he just grabbed the other hand pulled back.

[motherofthesun]

Her tail swished harder in the water and she pulled back, growling playfully. This end result was very welcome.

[perfectorder]

Ah, so she did want a game of tug.

Not that he was that experienced with these sorts of things, but he was going to try and pull the noodle away. Maybe if another one floated nearby he could try to grab it...

She continued to tug, having a small disadvantage due to no traction in water, but she twisted herself enough to paddle with her four paws in the opposite direction. Her playful growl continued as she tried to pull the noodle (and maybe Kid) along.

[perfectorder]

He moved a bit and he had about as little traction as he did due to them being in the deeper part of the pool.

But feeling himself being tugged by her, decided to try and pull her instead. If he could get closer to the shallow area—or at least to the incline...

[motherofthesun]

It was a match between two odd gods that's for sure. She continued to tug, giving a few head shakes as she pulled this time. If they reached the shallow end, it would be hard to win.

[perfectorder]

She really was getting into it and he was a little surprised by the strength. But he was not going to lose!

He continued to make his way back—until he felt his back hit something. A glance told him it was a medium sized beach ball. This was arguably cheating, but whatever. Who said there were any rules?

"Hey, Amaterasu," he grinned as he used one hand to grab it. "Catch."

And he just threw it right at her face.

She wasn't going to give in that easily... though, getting hit in the face made her yelp. Her grip loosened briefly on the noodle, but her jaws snapped down again.

He wanted to play that way huh?

Amaterasu made her kicking harder, purposely splashing water on Kid's face.

[perfectorder]

Damn, it did not work as he hoped. He had only managed to move the noodle a few inches before she clamped back down on it, and now she was splashing him?

Well two could play at that game.

Have a wave of water right back.

[motherofthesun]

The battle of water waves continue as Amaterasu tugged and shook her head, paws splashing the water as she dragged the noodle again. This will remain a deadlock!

[perfectorder]

So it seemed...

Until Kid decided to dive under and just pull hard as he suddenly swam toward the shallow end.

[motherofthesun]

She yelped, the sound muffled as she was dragged back. No! He would reach the shallow end soon!

Time to make like a dolphin. She twisted and hunched her shoulders using all four paws at once to propel herself into a small dive-like motion to tug back. Her paws moved when she dived enough, fighting furiously.

[perfectorder]

It was the battle of the gods! She was a lot stronger than he anticipated so he lost some...ground? water? when he felt her sudden fight back.

There was a moment where his stubbornness kicked in and he redoubled his efforts. But then there was a little part of him that glanced back and seeing how hard she was pulling, that little part said, Let go.

So that was exactly what he did. After pulling back as hard as he could...he let go. Now how will the physics of momentum work?

She was having so much fun that it took her a moment to register he let go. At least when it water, you don't fall onto your face like you do on ground. Instead, the sun goddess splashed up a storm and then floated there, biting the noodle several times almost expecting it to squeak.

She looked around hurriedly. What happened? Kid?
