Seeing it tumble, he quickly leaped up high enough to knock it into the hoop before catching it.

"That was closer," he said with a reassuring grin.

[motherofthesun]

She huffed and paddled around, waiting for him to toss again. She was anxious to make a hoop.

Seeing her anxious brought a small amused smile.

"Here," he called out before passing the ball again, making sure to aim it so that it was a direct line from where he stood beneath the hoop to Amaterasu.

Maybe the trajectory of his own passes may help her.

Amaterasu waited, watching the ball come down and knocked it up into the air. It soared in the air and fell through this time, nothing but next. She woofed in excitement.

He caught the ball as it sailed through the netting and he smiled over at her.

"Congratulations, you got it in."

[motherofthesun]

She huffed and splashed the water happily. Let's do it again! Let's do it again!

[perfectorder]

That earned her a small laugh.

"Okay, here it comes!"

And once again he did a perfect pass to her.

Her paws splashed the surface as she watched the ball, waiting for it to come down. Again, she bumped it when it was low enough, sending it through the hoop again.

"I think we may have found the secret," he grinned as he caught the ball as it came down.

"Three for three?"

[motherofthesun]

"Ruf!"

Of course! Or are you going to make her go for eight?

[perfectorder]

And he passed her the ball.

Don't tempt him. He might actually just continue to automatically pass it to her without even saying anything.

[motherofthesun]

Again, with the shot set up, she knocked it into the hoop.

Paddling around, she waited for the next shot.

[perfectorder]

And he repeated the motion...

Each time.

So long as she continued to hit the basket, he continued to pass the ball back to her.

And he was now counting.

She wasn't bothered. She thought this was all part of the game.

Amaterasu continued knocking the ball through the hoop after it was passed.

[perfectorder]

Five....six....seven....

She just had to make this last one...!

[motherofthesun]

And the ball went up!

It bounced on the rim and teetered for a moment before it rolled into the hoop.

[perfectorder]

And it was in! Oh how nervous he was when it didn't go straight in like the others, but upon catching it he let out a "Yes!"

He then swam back over to Amaterasu looking like a young teen proud of his own dog.

"You did it, Amaterasu! You scored eight times in a row!" Have a happy little ear ruffle. "Though that last one could have been a bit more perfect...I suppose it will do for now."

She was so happy to see him happy! Did he forgive her for pushing him into the water now? Did he?? Huh huh!?

Oh that's not the point. The point is he's happy and she's getting ear ruffles for getting the ball into the hoop eight times.

[perfectorder]

Maybe. Maybe.

But now he had calmed a bit and was looking around. When did the pool get so full?

"Hm...this may be a good time to take a break."

[motherofthesun]

Amaterasu continued to paddle, but glanced around. Oh, it was a little crowded.

"Ruf..." She had been doing this for a while. She could take a break.

[perfectorder]

"Are you hungry or anything?" he asked as he made his way over toward the shallower end of the pool so Amaterasu could have an easier time getting out.

[motherofthesun]

Hold onto that question. Once in the shallow end, there is fur swinging as Amaterasu shakes herself mostly dry. Each step out of the pool, she shakes her paws dry too, sitting there as she takes the appearance of a puffball again.

... Did you say food, Kid??

...And he got splashed. Well at least he was already wet to begin with, but he could not help but give her a dry look as he wiped some of the water from his face. Though seeing her fur poof again after it had been soaked through was a little amusing.

But as she had yet to really answer, or at least he could not tell what her answer was, he asked again. "Do you want anything to eat or drink? I'm sure there are some hot dogs or burger patties we could give you..."

Right? Those were meat and she should be able to those.

Hot dog? Hamburger? What was that? It smelled like meat was cooking and she couldn't deny it if it was offered, but she really didn't want to eat meat. Did he have any vegetables? Bamboo roots? Potatoes? Perhaps a fish that offered itself to be captured?

Either way, she just tilted her head.

[perfectorder]

He has never met a canine who was a vegetarian, so this was going to be an interesting revelation for him. But at her headtilt, he thought for a moment before letting out a small sigh.

"Let's just go to the food area. If you see anything you like, just let me know."

He also needed a towel, which he now went to procure.
