Okay, now he was starting to get a feel of where the wolf goddess was trying to herd him, so he quickly stepped to the side and around.

"I'll get into the pool later."

[motherofthesun]

Nnooooope! She's still going after him with a silly grin on his face. Bounding around will not save the young Death God. This has now become a game.

[perfectorder]

This...was not good.

"Amatersu, seriously—stop jumping around like that—you could slip or cause someone else to—"

He was trying to keep out of her way, but in his attempt to do so, he wound up tripping on some nearby pool floating noodle.

So as anyone could guess, with a surprised yell and a bit of flailing, Kid fell backwards into the pool with a loud splash.

So she was a little clumsy sometimes, but when Kid fell into the pool, she sat by the edge, letting her tail wag. Well, in a motion of good will, she pawed the offending noodle into the pool so Kid could grab it.

There were a few moments before Kid resurfaced gasping. Though he ignored the noodle. He was more focused on her.

"Amatersu!!!"

Oh gosh the excitement is still getting to her. He's so mad, but not really. She can't fight it; she jumped into the pool besides him.

And she was jumping in. Why was she jumping in—

Kid had to quickly swim back to avoid getting hit, raising an arm when the water splashed against him. When he had the chance, he was in complete scolding mode.

"Honestly, do you know how reckless and dangerous that was!? You could have easily injured someone—are you listening to me??"

[motherofthesun]

You really think she was going to hurt someone?

Kid, she's way too old for this lecture; she knows what she's doing. Ammy will just paddle closer and give Kid a few licks.

[perfectorder]

No one was too old for lectures.

And then he was licked.

"Amate—" After a few moments he just closed his eyes and let out a long, drawn out sigh. Despite being rather irritated at how he got into the pool, he was in it and there was not much he could do to change what happened.

So he just gave a long, side-eyed look. "You must be really pleased with yourself."

Again, she gave him a lop-sided grin. Yes, she is very pleased.

Come now, she'll cut him a break again. Here's the noodle once more.

He stared at the noodle for a moment before finally reaching out and taking out. There was a brief moment where he wondered if she wanted him to throw it...but that was absurd.

"If you want someone to play with, you'll have to find someone else," he sighed before looking at it. "Though this really shouldn't have been left unattended..."

Because people could trip on it and fall into the pool. Like him.

Kid, Kiiid, you're not relaxing. This isn't relaxing.

She swam around him with the noodle in her fanged grip, poking him in the back. Kid, don't make her do something silly... sillier.

[perfectorder]

How could he relax when he was forcefully knocked into the pool? Though her poking him with the noodle was starting to spark something in him. At the very least he was going to try and grab it out of her mouth.

[motherofthesun]

Hah! Victory!

Amaterasu grabbed the other end and dragged him out further into the pool.

[perfectorder]

"Wait—Hey!"

Seeing what she was doing, he immediately released the noodle.

"I'm not going to fall for your tricks, Amaterasu."

[motherofthesun]

Oh boo, you almost did.

She paddled back over and barked. Kid, what's up?

[perfectorder]

She pushed him in that was what was up.

But he just continued to give her a dry look as he tread water. "If you wanted to play, you could have done so without pushing me in first."

Though at this point he had resigned to his fate of being in the pool. Perhaps one last nudge of encouragement will loose him up enough to participate.

Nooot really. He tripped in on his own. She huffed at the accusation and gave him another nudge... with the noodle.

[perfectorder]

If she hadn't been running around, he wouldn't have tripped. Still her fault.

But he was going to just take that end of the noodle...and bend it enough to bop her on the head.

[motherofthesun]

That wasn't running... that was hopping!

She shook her head, but then flashed him a lop-sided grin again.

[perfectorder]

Close enough.

He just gave her a hard, even stare before finally, finally he cracked a small grin.

"All right," he relented. "I'm already in here and it's only proper for one to swim around and enjoy the pool."

[motherofthesun]

Okay, okay...

Oh finally! Getting him to grin is an accomplishment.

She gave his cheek a nuzzle and barked again, her tail wagging slowly due to the water's drag.

[perfectorder]

He blinked and had to close one eye as she suddenly nuzzled him, some water splashing him as she did.

"Okay, okay, I'll play with you," he said with a small laugh. Hm, when was the last time he did that? And when was the last time he said play?

But he could not help but reach over and gave the wolf goddess a little pat on the head, ruffling her ears a little as he did.

"What would you like to do?"

Since...playing with a dog in water was kind of new to him.

Mhm, always love those head pats.

At the suggestion of play, she woofed and grabbed the noodle again, fangs playfully gripping down on it harder. If there were any other pool toys, that would be fine.

[perfectorder]

Seeing her grab the noodle, he had to wonder if she was trying to play tug with him.

So as an experiment, he just grabbed the other hand pulled back.
