And considering how deep they were, he even dragged the poor fellow as far as he could without drowning the poor guy. But unlike Kanji, Kid did not just disappear. Instead he remained visible and floated a little up so that he could glare hard at him even underwater.

He felt something on his ankles and had no chance for it to register before it felt like the ground sunk underneath him. With a short cry, he was dragged under, and keep on going until he neared the bottom. The hell was going on, some kind of copycat!?
But Kid wasn't about to disappear and maintain the mystery. He moved into view and was glaring daggers at him. ...Oops. Kanji just stared at him a moment, eyebrows lifted. How the hell did he find out!?

And if Kanji considered trying to swim away, the hard look Kid was still giving should warn him not to.

...Time to face the music. Kanji didn't have to like it, though. He sunk to the bottom and crouched, springing up for a head start before swimming his way to the surface.

Seeing Kanji swimming upwards, Kid followed close behind before surfacing. Once there, he faced him and started the reprimand that Kanji likely expected from the very beginning.
"Not so fun when it's done to you now is it?"

"Man, you're a shitty shark. Y'gotta make a run for it after you pull somebody down, y'know."
But that wasn't Kid's intention. That he knew. He shrugged and played it off like he wasn't bothered. "'s how the game goes! I wondered when somebody would catch me."

"The point of this excursion is for everyone to enjoy themselves and this would only make the younger aged visitors afraid of getting in the water."
Perhaps not, but at this point he was just annoyed and it technically a valid reason.
"Not to mention the risk of you accidentally pulling someone who may react badly and end up drowning."
Now this was a more plausible reason. But regardless—
"Your so called 'shark days' are over, Kanji."

"Yeah well, nobody drowned! I wasn't grabbin' people who couldn't swim. You're just pissed that I got you!"

And he pointedly ignored the last statement.

And with that, he pulled down his goggles again.
"Guess I'll do laps or somethin'. Killjoy."
