[This certainly caught Poseidon off guard. The God was used to having to deal with many things, Pests (hades), Birds (hades), his fellow Gods for some reason appearing to avoid him (mostly hades), and boredom.

But never in his life someone had tried to make him go away by throwing him to his element.
And Poseidon had never really had a body which would actually feel the water.

The first thing which he notices that there is some sort of strangeness in his whole body. Unlike what he was used to, there seemed to be a kind of matter around him making his movements hard.
The second was an huge disconfort every time he tried to talk to Kid on the water, in fact... why was everything feeling so wrong?

An emotion which he had never meet before surfaced.

Panic.

Somehow, his body demanded something which his element could not give. And his arms moved instinctively to obtain this.

And then he felt his head going to surface, he gasped, taking in air.

And then he sinks again.

His body lets out the warning signals, struggling to survive on this trial.

Was this... why humans never seemed to get bored?

He reaches the surface again.]

... Death... God... [He voices, not sure what else to say in this situation, what was the right conduct for this?]

[perfectorder]

[and this is Kid just standing there with his arms crossed and with the driest look imaginable.]

Poseidon.

That water is less than five feet deep.

You can stand.

[and look there's a random child in an inner tube just swimming by staring at the flailing water god.]

[And unfortunately, Poseidon is too busy trying to surface to hear what you are saying.

He did notice that your lips were moving tho]

Death God... What... [Down and up again] did you... say? [Brb, drowning]

[perfectorder]

[...does he really have to get in there?]

You can stand—

[wait a minute—]

You can't swim!?

[And the last one he actually managed to hear, somewhat.]

I am a God!- [Oops, down for a couple of seconds again, his arms are becoming better at this.] I do not breath so I do not drown! [Which is not working very well right now, since both are occurring]

[oh good grief—rubbing his forehead Kid just stared before easing himself down into the pool. Were Poseidon to look, he would see Kid just standing there before the young shinigami waded over.]

Calm down and stop flailing.

[though if he doesn't, Kid will grab his arm and haul him upright.]

[Since Poseidon has little experience dealing with these situations of life or death (at least when he is the main protagonist), he makes an effort to calm himself and stop moving like Kid says.

There, now he is simply sinking...]

Now straighten your legs as if to stand.

[He can't hear you, he is underwater]

[perfectorder]

[oh for the love of all the gods in all the mufti-universes—

he's half tempted to just have the man drown, but despite being a god of death, that would not be a good thing to happen.

so while muttering under his breath on how this was the most useless god he had ever met, Kid wades over before reaching down to grab the sinking god and pulling him up.]

[Poseidon gasps for air, by instinct clinging to Kid's hands and pulling himself (with all his bulky weight) upwards.]

[yay for water canceling out gravity—not that it would have matter.

but once Poseidon surfaces, Kid just continues to stand there and stare at him.]

Now breathe and stand. The water is not that deep.

[demandsacrifice]

[Poseidon takes in the air, at first he was going to complain about Kid being younger and so he wouldn't take orders... But then he realized that the God was simply trying to help him.

He obeys, standing and realizing that he could... well, it wasn't that deep.]

Oh.

[perfectorder]

[sighs and shakes his head.]

That was what I was trying to tell you before. [instead you made him go into the pool. again. siiiigh.]

But honestly. How can you be the god of water and not know how to swim.
