[Open] Pool Party!

Sadly, she is forced to shake her head as well as whoever it was disappears from view. She turns back to Kid in the pool and decides to offer him a hand, feeling merciful. He's probably perfectly capable of climbing out himself, of course, but--

Hey, she's learning manners.

"Not really. Sorry. I probably wouldn't have asked, if I had."

She wouldn't have had to ask, if she'd gotten a good look. Though it's true, she doesn't exactly know everyone in the city. It might not have meant much, either way.

"I was hoping more for any details you might have noticed about them," he simply answered before staring at her hand.

Right, there had a been a few similar occasions where this happened, and one of them involving him being accidentally sent back into the water. But she was offering her hand and it would be more rude to refuse it. So after a quick glance to make sure that no one was coming up behind her, he takes it with a, "But thanks," and climbs out.

He sure is staring intently behind her. It makes her glance back a couple times, too, wondering just what's got his attention. But when he finally takes her hand, she pulls him up fairly easily. She gives a bit of a shrug at his thanks.

"No big deal."

She'll also kind of lead her away from the pool for the time being.

"You having fun, at least?"

He was going to need yet another towel, so he did not mind following her for the moment to at least acquire one.

"That's hard to say. Despite being pushed into the pool six and a half times, I do have to admit there were some periods where I managed to 'enjoy' it." He glanced at her. "And you?"

...There's a moment of silence at his answer where she simply tilts her head curiously. But since he's turned the question back at her, she supposes she should answer it herself before nitpicking at it.

"Yeah, I guess."

And then:

"...Half, though?"

How do you half-push someone into the pool?

"Someone was trying to help me out of the pool, but before she could fully pull me out, someone knocked her back in," he sighed. "I was half in and half out of the water."

"...Weird."

And she doesn't mean his little story there specifically (though she does appreciate the clarification); just the fact that he was pushed in that many times at all, once she takes all this information together. There's a mischievous little grin on her face as she casually whirls around him, taking a peek at his back. Bare, empty.

"I don't see any 'Dunk Me' signs on you. What's up with people?"

Jeez.

Alert. Alert.

Immediately Kid grew a little wary when she moved behind him, but at least they were away from the pool. Unless she somehow managed to either pick him up and carry him back there or just flat out steamrolled pushed him, there was little he had to worry about.

Maybe.

"That's what I would like to know," he said a little dryly. "Perhaps they think it amusing to try and push in the leader of their city."

Sometimes she honestly forgets he is the leader of the city, but she's remembering now. He didn't look so leaderly before, when he was falling into the pool, but there are totally way worse things that could happen to him, aren't there? She actually does look a bit amused, thinking back on it, but still--

"You'd think it'd get old after six and half times."

She can't really see herself participating. She notices that he looks a little wary when she moves behind him, so she'll stop. ~~Baby.~~

~~Cautious.~~

"Oh trust me, it has," he sighed. "I hope you don't ever have the misfortune of falling prey to such acts."

"Me, too."

She certainly wouldn't want to deal with that. Maybe once or twice would be fine, since she enjoys the water much the same way a little kid does. But five or six and she's no longer liable for what she may do to the perpetrators.

"But I'd probably get back at them somehow if I did."

Not that Death City's esteemed leader would ever harbor such negative thoughts. Wooould he?

"Oh?" Color him curious. "Then let's give the hypothetical. What would you do if someone pushed you into the pool at least five or six times?"

She smirks a bit.

Even though her tone sounded confident before, she does take a moment to think about it; because she isn't even sure who would have the guts to do such a thing to her in the first place.

"Well, I'd try to take them down with me, for one."

That'd be a good start.

He nodded.

"Yes that would be the more immediate reaction. That is of course assuming they don't push you behind and you have time to grab them."

Yeah, of course. That's always a problem, being snuck up on. But she dares to think she'd never allow that to happen either. She'll think about it for a second, glancing over her shoulder before replying.

"Is that how it kept happening? They got you from behind?"

"Basically," he sighed. "Or suddenly ran out from the crowd, which is dangerous as well."

"...Yeah, I'll say."

It is a pretty crowded place, so she can imagine that happening pretty easily. Even if no one had intended to push him in the first place-- although judging by his stories, they were definitely all on purpose.

Being wet never hurt anyone, though.

"They can't push you if you're already in the water, though. We oughta get back in soon."

(Meh. If he wants to.)

"The other alternative is for me to stay in the lounge," he only said, and it looked like he was more than ready to stay out of the pool for a while. Though who could blame him? After all the times he was pushed in, he actually did swim quite a lot already.

"However you should at least enjoy yourself."

Clover is stretching when his answer comes, and she almost looks disappointed. It can't be helped though if he feels that way; he does look rather burnt out already, and understandably so-- but still. Begrudgingly, she'll just nod to acknowledge that, sighing.

And she'll give a little dismissive wave as well.

"Okay, okay... come find me, if you change your mind."

...Wait. Come "find" her? That was suggesting that she did want to swim with him, which was a bit surprising. And now he felt bad.

"Er, well, if you really did want me to swim with you I can."

He may be a little water logged, but there was a difference between swimming and having a good time and then just being pushed in. But he would see what she said—just as long as he was not pushed in.

"Really...?"

The change in tone is quite surprising. If it was her, she definitely wouldn't be agreeing, after being pushed in so many times-- and the fact that he would says a lot.

Guess he really is a people person, Clover thinks idly. And though her expression brightens, she shrugs as if it's no big deal.

"Well, you don't have to."

"If it's only for a little while, then it will be fine," he shrugged. "Besides, of all the times I was in the pool, only about three or four were where I actually swam in it."

Plus it's usually more fun to swim with others, wasn't it?

"I may even be able to spot the ones who have been pushing people around," he added in a somewhat more flat tone. "Though of course this means you can't push me in."

Clover doesn't really like being ordered around-- at least not by people whose names aren't Snake. But luckily for him, she hadn't been planning to do such a thing anyway. And in fact, she'd be more than happy to help with exacting some revenge, if it came to that.

But she simply shrugs. It might be more fun to challenge him to a race or something similar.

"I won't, I won't."

There's a wave of her hand.

"I'm gonna get a drink first, though. You want one?"

"Sure, though I can get it."

It was only proper for the gentleman to get such items, wasn't it?

"Despite my constant protests, they keep insisting on giving me drinks for free," he said with a wry grin. "Might as well save you a few dollars."

Clover doesn't exactly need to be babysat; she is perfectly capable of getting her own drink, but the idea of getting it free is also quite tempting. She shouldn't be surprised, since he's so high ranking in the city, but somehow it is a bit unexpected.

Free, huh...

"That's convenient," she grins. And in that case, she supposes she may as well follow him to make a selection. "Do they treat you like that everywhere?"
