So it seemed...

Until Kid decided to dive under and just pull hard as he suddenly swam toward the shallow end.

[motherofthesun]

She yelped, the sound muffled as she was dragged back. No! He would reach the shallow end soon!

Time to make like a dolphin. She twisted and hunched her shoulders using all four paws at once to propel herself into a small dive-like motion to tug back. Her paws moved when she dived enough, fighting furiously.

It was the battle of the gods! She was a lot stronger than he anticipated so he lost some...ground? water? when he felt her sudden fight back.

There was a moment where his stubbornness kicked in and he redoubled his efforts. But then there was a little part of him that glanced back and seeing how hard she was pulling, that little part said, Let go.

So that was exactly what he did. After pulling back as hard as he could...he let go. Now how will the physics of momentum work?

She was having so much fun that it took her a moment to register he let go. At least when it water, you don't fall onto your face like you do on ground. Instead, the sun goddess splashed up a storm and then floated there, biting the noodle several times almost expecting it to squeak.

She looked around hurriedly. What happened? Kid?

[perfectorder]

Now standing at a shallow area of the pool, he watched her stunned reaction. It was actually a bit amusing, and though he tried to hide it, she may have heard a small laugh escape him.

[motherofthesun]

Oh, she heard that. She turned here head in his direction and huffed. Very amusing you... She paddled over to the ball he earlier tossed as her head and hit it back.

[perfectorder]

He easily caught it.

"A game of catch, then?" he asked, but he was already throwing it back over to her.

[motherofthesun]

She woofed and tapped it with her nose, knocking the ball back to Kid soon enough.

[perfectorder]

Or perhaps more like volleyball? Seeing the ball bounced back to him in such a fashion made him automatically bring his arms together to hit it back with his wrists to return the ball right back at her.

Again, she paddled to get underneath the ball and knocked it back. See? So much fun!

[perfectorder]

Yes, he would have to admit this was...fun. He returned the ball again, though this time he tried to make it harder for her to get it, aiming a little farther out from where she was.

[motherofthesun]

Oh gosh she can't move that fast through water! She's not Nuregami after all. The ball hit the water before she can reach it, but it's back in the air soon enough, soaring over to Kid.

[perfectorder]

"One point for me," he said with a bit of a grin before he returned the ball back toward her.

Again making it difficult for her.

[motherofthesun]

Ha! But she's ready this time and knocks it up higher, making its falling point a little harder to determine.

[perfectorder]

Oh he had this. He had this.

Until some random kid swam in front of him, making him have to abruptly stop and kind of flail so as not to lose his balance since he was kind of wading on the ramp and you know ramps are kind of slippery. But it wouldn't matter since the ball landed a little further than where he thought it would have been.

[motherofthesun]

Amaterasu just floats there, a wide grin as she pants with mirth. Well, well, that's one point for her now, isn't it?

"Arf!"

[perfectorder]

"Yes, I know," he said in a half dry voice as he retrieved the ball. But while they could do this all the time...

The nearby basketball hoop caught his eye.

"How good is your aim?"

[motherofthesun]

Again, she chuckled, but then paused at his question, tilting her head. How was her aim? It was pretty good. Why?

He then turned toward the nearby basketball hoop and threw the ball.

Swish.

Perfect.

"Think you can knock it in there?"

[motherofthesun]

... Huh, that seemed simple enough.

She woofed. She could give it a shot... hehe.

He swam over to retrieve the ball, a few people who had been in the area moving away once they realized that two gods were going to use it.

Once he had the ball, he remained on that side since it would be easier to retrieve it if he was already there.

"Here!"

And then he passed the ball to her.

She shifted high enough out of the water to 'catch' the ball with her muzzle and level it with her. So, how to get the ball in the hoop thing. She twisted it this way and that, finally getting it up on her nose. Okay... okay, she can do this.

[perfectorder]

It was definitely a challenge, one that he was curious to see if she could do it. Maybe he would need to throw it to her so that she could bounce it back...?

But she seemed to be working something out.

[motherofthesun]

She nudged and bounced it, glancing over at the hoop again before knocking it over. It hit the backboard, but missed the hoop. Whoops.

Well it was close.

"Maybe you should try hitting it back when I pass it."
