EVENT: Witch Attack on the City!
Characters: Everyone and anyone
Location: Anywhere in Death City!
Rating: PG-13
Time: August 23
Description: There's a Witch attack on the city and, to make matters worse, there's a dangerous individuals while Meister powers go completely out of control
The evening before there had been a PSA going around the network and the radio to watch out for an individual causing trouble in the city and a reminder to please stay indoors if possible.
Then around midnight something distinctly...strange happens. At first, Weapons probably won't notice, because it's only Meisters who suddenly find their powers flaring up for no apparent reason even when they're not trying to use them.
There's a two hour window where the abilities become stronger until it's practically impossible to control before the alarms in the city sound.
Kishin Eggs have been spotted entering the city in droves and this time they haven't come alone...
((OOC: Please put [Character | Location | OPEN/CLOSED ] in your subject header. Also, please specify in the subject header if you've signed up for a Witch encounter!))

[Diablo | In the streets | OPEN]
His large form stepped out into a new street. It was impossible not to notice the near-twenty-foot skeletal form as it stalked out from the shadows. Blood dripped from its claws and the wicked sharp bone formations on the back of its wrists. With his tail swishing around, his burning eyes turned and fixated on another filthy human when it screamed at his appearance.
"Each soul I consume brings your world closer to ruin," Diablo calmly said even if his voice rumbled with power. His chest cavity looked as though it was on fire while the mouths on his shoulders opened with anticipation for what was to come. "Now come, show me the reason to why you tremble with fear," he declared, his attention was no fixated on the human as the fiery glow throughout his body seemed to brighten. The man screamed in terror as the wavelength hit him, and soon after he was clawing at his own skin trying to get rid of the bugs that now crawled beneath the surface.

However, he didn't expect what would happen upon meeting the troublemaker.
When he got on to the scene where a man was screaming at the terror in his mind, Genesis immediately transformed his one arm into the Rapier and moved ahead to attack. Diplomacy wasn't going to work with this one, he immediately thought. With the way he wanted to bring the world to ruin, he had to be taken down immediately.

Despite their best efforts, though, it was utter chaos in the streets, and all it took for a moment for the two of them to be separated. L glanced around frantically for his partner as people rushed by in a scattered chaotic maelstrom, suddenly vulnerable and knowing that Light, without him, wasn't more capable.
When L saw Diablo, it was nothing like any Kishin he'd ever viewed. Though there were currently many things in the city worth running from, nothing was as immediately alarming as the 20 foot tall monster stalking the streets and tearing through humans like an exterminator through roaches. Currently, one man was suffering the brunt of the demonic thing's wrath... but until he found Light, L was ill-equipped to help him, his only ability turning into a pair of handcuffs.
His phone came out quickly. Despite the mayhem, he managed to send one text to the sole person who could help him come out of this alive.

The moose lowered its antlers in challenge, pawing the ground as the little witch hopped down from its rump to stand at the animal's shoulder. "I had heard that people brought here was supposed to be nice and polite, but you don't seem polite at all. I think my sisters would like you though."

Takuto | Death City Heights | open to Shinji and Yako
So, naturally, glowing like a star--and already dressed in pants, boots, and his favorite white coat--Takuto bursts into Shinji's room with quite a bit more radiance than usual.]
Shinji! Look! I'm a ginga bishounen again!!!
[And then the alarms start going off.]
W-wake up! We've got to go!
no subject
Wh-what's going on?
[Luckily he has the sense enough not to dawdle, emergencies weren't uncommon in Tokyo-3 and he knew well enough to not waste time and get to the Meister's side. As a result, he's going to look pretty silly next to Takuto while wearing pajama pants and a t-shirt, but hey. At least Shinji isn't glowing. What's up with that?]

Takuto + Yako + Shinji | around the city | Open | WITCH
He has a small, humming knife (Shinji) in one hand, and a leather stock whip (Yako) in the other, and also there's a bluish glow... coming from Takuto's chest. He's dressed in a his white coat with long tails decorated with blue and stars, white pants, and tall boots. The air around him nearly sparkles with a dazzling soul energy that apparently no Kishin egg can resist. And as if that weren't enough to make him the center of attention, Takuto isn't fighting quietly. His movements are punctuated by shouts of 'Galactic Whip Slash!' and 'Galactic Knife Stab!' and with every Kishin egg that falls, he quickly strikes a dramatic pose before getting caught up in his next foe.
Simply put, there is no way he is actually going to make it out of this alive if he keeps this up.]

{She lets that almost-threat hang for a moment, before refocusing her attention back on the three-way resonance. She's a very easy partner, usually, but this is her first time trying something like this—and Takuto's exuberant, practically bouncing soul isn't helping her concentration very much.
What had that boy eaten for breakfast today?}
...and not by choice. Be more careful!

[Sephiroth + Cloud | Around the city | CLOSED | Witch]
When he had sensed the drastic change in Cloud though, the ex-General had ceased his search for the creature and had instead taken off to find his partner. He moved swiftly through the city to Cloud's location.]
no subject
He had been so close to tracking the creature down when he had found a strangeness of his person that initially frightened him. Then, he felt as if he had been enveloped in a static bubble and there was no room to feel anything. He didn't even care that he didn't feel wavelengths around him, and his emotions seemed to bleed out of him along with any sense of danger, his tiredness, the aches of pushing himself hard... everything was gone. He also didn't care about it either.
Instead of chasing things down, he slowed to a walk and moved around the city with a leisure. People's panic didn't even annoy him and the dead at his feet meant nothing to him. He began to trail in the wake of death, but he had no care for it. He was drawn that way because it was honestly the direction that he was facing and nothing more.]

Kyubey + Mondo | Around Outer Districts | Closed
[Blinking, he felt the shifting forces around him, but isn't exactly sure what they are or the cause. It was something he wanted to look into as opposed to the actual fighting occurring, but he couldn't very well run out and get eaten now. Or get taken down by a Witch. No, he needed a Meister as much as he'd rather not to move out. Who around him wasn't completely panicked, willing to fight, and needed a Weapon?]
no subject
After making sure Chihiro was safe inside his apartment, Mondo himself dashed out into the streets, and... wow. The mess was even worse than he'd imagined - where did all those Kishin eggs come from? None the less, he's determined to do some good for the sake of the city, even if he doesn't have a plan in place. That never dampened his resolve before, and why should it now? Things always somehow worked out. He just has to find himself a Weapon, and fast...
Luckily, the alien isn't difficult to spot, despite his small size. Already knowing that the two of them resonate well enough is plenty, and he calls out to him]

Naruto, Sakura, Sasuke | Fatality Condominiums | Closed
But it this feeling wasn't staying the same.
It was getting stronger. Even his hands are starting to shake.
The syllables start small, unsteady through his cracked bedroom door and wobbling their way down the hall. He isn't even sure who's home, because he can't- he can't get his head to think about it. ]
S-Sakura-chan-
Sasuke?

But then, of course, a day off was never just a day off -- made it feel like Konoha again. A 'dangerous individual', they had said. The Watch was on high alert, but that didn't really change the lock down of residents staying home. Which meant that, despite the circumstances, Sakura was still going to attempt some form of relaxation.
Which meant stretching out on her bedroom floor on her back, book in her hands above her face, reading. The quiet of it can be thanked for her hearing her name, the tremor in it. Sakura sets her book down and sits up immediately, leaves it abandoned on the floor before making her way down the hall.
She doesn't bother knocking for once, simply pushes the door open the remainder of the way, leaning inside his room. ]

Ninjas | Everywhere + Your Mom's House | Witch
His body had bent ages ago, and he whips down streets and alleys on all fours, lashing out at anything and everything even remotely in his path. He doesn't know it, but he's hunting for a place to direct his hatred. Somewhere he can throw his anger and fear and regret- he swirling vitriol in the pit of his stomach that whispers about his friends (the old and the new, the missing and the returned and the dead) and someone he can hold accountable. The way he can't anywhere else.
Naruto is looking for an enemy. And soon, anyone will do. ]

the problem is the collateral damage. he spirals out of control quickly, goes feral and it's times like these that Sasuke laments the loss of his chakra. Naruto is fast, and quick as Sasuke and Sakura are— they can't keep up with the fox.
but it doesn't stop him from trying. he vaults from one rooftop to the next and it's following the wreckage that he spots him. he doesn't stop running, just points and launches himself to a lower rooftop, knowing Sakura will be half a heartbeat behind him. ]

Lily and Lezard | Casualty Communal | Closed
Lily had grown used to having him around, not even complaining when the sorcerer lingered in her apartment until the witching hour. Comfortable enough that it seemed harmless to nod off in his presence. But she shook herself awake after a minute and removed her head from his shoulder. “I reckon it’s time we said good night. I’ve got another day of inventory hunting and laundry tomorrow.”
But as she stood up, images of a woman she’d never seen before flashed through her mind—shopping for a hat, kissing a man, and arranging flowers in a vase, all while wearing the vintage turquoise dress she currently wore. She squeezed her eyes shut and shook her head, slumping back to the sofa and rubbing at her temples. "What in the Sam Hill was that?"
no subject
So that's why they'd both nodded off while going over a cookbook and wordlessly deciding it was getting late. Even night owls needed sleep, after all.
The mage blinked slowly, turning his head when Lily stirred. The forgotten book was placed on the coffee table. Was it really that time already? Surely they could spend another five minutes being productive, even if they'd been slowing down over the last hour or so--
But something strange happened, and Lily was seated again, looking as if she'd suddenly been struck by something unseen. Though sleepy, Lezard's brain was running through a wealth of possibilities from his time spent working in the clinic. Did she need to be admitted...?
"What did you experience just then?"

Chika | Heading to the clinc | Open
But then something weird had started to go on, and as Chika was walking through the city while heading to the clinic to check on Aqua, something even stranger had happened. It felt like her soul was being torn into pieces, trying to go into every direction that it could possibly go into, causing her to and fall to her knees, clutching her chest. God, it really hurt and she had no idea what was causing it...
Until she felt what felt like resonating happening for the briefest moments. With more than two weapons. Like, it had to be at least seven.
It was only a brief moment before it broke, but she was still breathing in rather deeply as she tried to make it to her feet rather shakily. "What... what the hell is going on?"
Closed to Aqua | The Clinic
She knew that she should probably stay away from any large groups of people for right now, but with the city under attack it made even more sense for her to get to Aqua and make sure she was okay. She didn't know if Aqua was going to be capable of defending herself like this.
Not that Chika was going to be much help at this rate. But it was too late to turn back now. Even if she was using the chairs in the lobby for support as she walked through the clinic. "Aqua? Are you still here?" she asked outloud, before realizing that it was probably stupid to ask that with how injured the other girl must've been.
She should probably try to get to the patient's rooms quickly, to make sure that she was okay. With how exhausted she was though, it didn't even occur to her that she might make things worse just by walking up to her with the way her powers were flaring up like this.

[Mello and Near | Tartarus Terraces | closed | Witch]
By the end of his Watch shift, he's being bombarded by data, too jumbled and fast for him to make sense of, though he gets bits and pieces: this car's about to turn right, that woman will drop her keys on the sidewalk in ten seconds.
Mello gets back to the flat and takes some ibuprofen against the pounding, and growing, headache, but it doesn't help. He can't sleep for the noise, which increasingly feels like pressure inside his skull, but he can't do anything else, either. He ends up on the couch, curled almost into a fetal position, holding his head and waiting for it to stop.]
no subject
He gets the feeling that something isn’t quite right around the time Mello ends his shift, so he keeps a close eye on him through the surveillance cameras-- or, more accurately, he stalks him even more closely than normal-- but nothing seems amiss. A headache isn’t that out of the ordinary, either, so Near lets that pass when his partner comes home and takes a painkiller, but the sight of his Meister curled up on the couch like that, holding his head, makes something tighten unpleasantly in his chest, something a lot like sharp worry mixed with fear.
The noise inside his own head increases: he’s reviewing the pathophysiology of headaches as he walks to the couch, his feet moving just a bit too quickly for his normal gait patterns, trying to figure out whether or not he has to seek medical help immediately-- temporomandibular joint dysfunction, non-traumatic intracranial hemorrhage, high blood pressure… bacterial meningitis? Unlikely, the characteristic neck muscle stiffness would make it impossible for him to be in that position, but I should make sure he doesn’t have a fever just in case-- and then he kneels down by the couch, reaching down to place both of his hands over Mello’s, his touch surprisingly gentle.
He’s about to ask him what’s wrong, but peeking into their resonance answers his own question: it’s almost as if he were listening in to thousands of recordings all at once, mind flooded by too much information and completely unable to focus on a single line of thought and process it adequately. It’s overwhelming and painful, and it pisses Mello off, but Near can pick up on something else: it frightens him, too, just a little bit, and that makes the knot in his chest tighten even more.
Near doesn’t know what’s going on-- this isn’t the madness wavelength, and no Meister ability that he knows of can provoke this kind of reaction in others; is it a new device created by the Witches?-- and he doesn’t know what he should do, and he hates not knowing anything, but he hates even more to see Mello like this.
He opens up his mind to his partner, pushing into his side of their resonance just enough to make his soul’s wavelength noticeable over the flood of information, but not enough to impose yet another thing on Mello’s mind; just giving him something to hold on to, if he can do that much.]
What can I do to make it better?

Kanji and Naoto | Leaving Kishin Chamber/Inner Districts | Closed
"They're attacking...!"
She didn't have to say who 'they' were as she returned to her Meister. Kishin eggs, familiars, and Witches again. Observing the spectacle from the stairs, Naoto wondered if this had been anything like that fateful day in October. The air felt strange, but she didn't know what this wavelength was. Eyes narrowing, she shifted into her Meister's hold, and taking to her soul space. Bullets were ready and Naoto was concentrating. They had to end this invasion now.
no subject
But could he guard them when something was... was wrong?
It was building again, a twisting discomfort in his stomach and a screeching in his soul. It felt like something was clawing him from the inside, before with another clench of his teeth and a grunt of pain, everything within ten yards of him were sent flying. Chairs slammed into glass windows and shattered them, and even a car parked on the sidewalk was thrown onto its side, its own alarm going off in a cacophony that wailed through the air and alerted to hissing monsters that crawled over walls and were homing in. He'd fled from the scene before he'd be seen, and for less than an hour he'd joined Naoto in her investigation. So much blood...
But she sensed something he couldn't. She transformed, and he swallowed hard, offering his soul wavelength to join hers. Maybe if they resonated, he could avoid the current problem with his Meister Ability, and Naoto'd never know.
Because she couldn't know that he was... broken, or something. Sick.
"Shit, here they come!" Well, at least these attackers decided to be just as 'subtle' as the soul-eating newcomer. What a damn day.

Amaterasu and Psiioniic | Inner City | Open
Shooting onto her paws, she hustled out the door. Blood stifled her senses and she swiped at her nose. This horrid new Guest, but she wasn't a Death Scythe wielder. Scowling, she left to find Psii under the new wave of attacks. Still, that was nothing for what followed.
Around her, people seemed to just stop caring. Her usually abundant energy felt lower than normal as well. Calming Wavelength did put people at ease, but it didn't reach out this far. The whole block was practically ignoring kishin eggs running down the street. Even a nearby explosion didn't concern them. What was going on?
no subject
Had to find Amaterasu.
Decided on inner city as her most likely location, and therefore his destination, and set out. As he walked, began to feel heaviness not too different from effects of red clowns not so long ago, but not just in hardware. Neurals were clearly affected, too, and there was something urgent he needed to do, but what was it? Nothing seemed urgent at moment.
When he spotted Amaterasu, remembered had meant to find her, and waved almost cheerfully.
"Hello. Was looking for you."

Kyoko and Mami | Various | Closed
And it became even worse when the alarms started going off.
The only cause she could figure out for this were the strange... creatures that have somehow crept into the city. Knowing enough that those things were Kishin eggs, and that she would only be able to take them down as part of a pair, Kyoko took refuge in order to call up the one Meister she knew she could trust in a situation like this.
"Mami-san," she spoke into her communicator, voice hushed and urgent, but steady and composed. "Where are you right now?"

She was in the middle of clutching her head and trying to find a place where less people were around when the call came through. D-damn, she couldn't ignore this. She answered quickly, sounding just a little bit frazzled.

Kishin eggs were coming down the street and it looked like familiars too. Her eyes widened and she turned her head in the direction of the Clinic. But she looked back at D. What was she supposed to do?

They were somewhat monstrous looking and he couldn't seem to divine their human forms. But perhaps, he could gain some assistance against his abductors from these creatures. He started to step closer, holding an arm out as if he intended to pet them.
