EVENT: Witch Attack on the City!

Location: Anywhere in Death City!

Description: There's a Witch attack on the city and, to make matters worse, there's a dangerous individuals while Meister powers go completely out of control
The evening before there had been a PSA going around the network and the radio to watch out for an individual causing trouble in the city and a reminder to please stay indoors if possible.
Then around midnight something distinctly...strange happens. At first, Weapons probably won't notice, because it's only Meisters who suddenly find their powers flaring up for no apparent reason even when they're not trying to use them.
There's a two hour window where the abilities become stronger until it's practically impossible to control before the alarms in the city sound.
Kishin Eggs have been spotted entering the city in droves and this time they haven't come alone...

[ Sasuke doesn't shout it, but it hits the air nevertheless. Sakura has picked up the pace, her footsteps are less than half a tread behind his own. the last time he'd chased Naruto down, he'd had Kurapika at his side. Kurapika didn't know this side of Naruto the way Sasuke did.
and Sasuke— he didn't know this side of Naruto the way Sakura did. yeah, he knew how the madness worked, he knew what Naruto could do and what it meant in relation to his Meister ability. but Sakura was from their future. she understood this in a way Sasuke was still learning. ]
Sakura!
[ that's a shout, as much a call of this way and stay alert as anything else. Sasuke hits the pavement and charges around the corner, ready to come head to head with the animal Naruto has become. ]

Gloved hand to the wall, legs braced, she misses the stability that chakra granted her in these situations. Even still, her balance echoes it before she shoves off the side to land on the ground, immediately launching herself back into a run.
Part of her has no damn idea what they plan on doing when they find him, because even at home there's so little that they're able to do to control the kyuubi, outside of Yamato, and his ability would be null here. But at least she brings familiarity with her, brings knowledge of what this looks like. Knows that no matter what happens now, what happens after this, it isn't Naruto, not really.
Her chest still twists painfully when she sees him. ]

Naruto pauses just long enough to lift his head and scent the air- before he's off like a shot. Sprinting on all fours in a jagged line up the side of what would have been a charming looking shop. Until he collapsed it's western corner and left it's interior littered with rubble.
The sound that rips out of his throat is an inhuman screech. A howl. A scream.
There's a Witch nearby. ]

[ he's too fast and they don't have chakra to keep up properly. they have to cut him off—
but then he lets loose that shriek. a sound more animal than human and Sasuke's gaze cuts back, just briefly, to find Sakura's eyes. are you ready? is what he doesn't ask, before he lunges after the Meister. ]

This is the same but different all at once, because maybe the fox isn't inside of him, but it sounds and looks just like it would in their own world.
She's off right after Sasuke, pushes herself to keep up. With the city under attack, the last thing they need is to get between Naruto and whatever it is that's attacking; wrangling their team mate will be a challenge enough on its own. ]

When Naruto charges her, he's mindless with rage and doesn't stand a chance. ]

but in this world, partnerships made you stronger. and their meister? he was currently wild. ]
Naruto! [ the cry wrenches out of him ragged, like a snarl and a yell, and Sasuke forces himself forward, throws both arms out. where limbs were moments before, they collapse into fabric, and he snags the other shinobi by his ankles, tripping him face first into the concrete.
but he can't hold him on his own. his eyes fly to the witch, tracking her movements even as he can feel the burn start in his chest where his soul reaches for Naruto's and is systematically rejected. ]
Sakura! We need to get him out of here!

she's never encountered a witch, not like this. the hair on the back of her neck stands on end, goosebumps over her skin. it's a bone-deep terror, because how the hell are they supposed to keep Naruto safe while fending off a witch?
the short answer is that they can't.
letting Naruto go, he would charge in at her, but keeping him bound here left them a sitting target. eyes narrowing, her hold around him tightens, arms collapsing into fabric as it binds in circles around his upper body instead; leaves less room for him to move or find purchase to shake them off. ]
We can't move him when she's right there.

She sets herself down on the nearest rooftop, giving up flying for the time being. A crooked smile is permanently etched across her face so picking out her emotion is hard. In fact, a peregrine falcon swoops down and lands on her shoulder and she stops, it's scream being the only real indication that her aggression level is rising.]

Just- not for very long. It takes twice as much effort, but no sooner does he realize that he can't shake it loose, than Naruto redoubles his effort to get at the witch. His fingers come down like he might claw at the roof itself, tear up everything in his wake- and his insistence threatens to drag his teammates off their feet. Getting to that witch- is the only thing in his world. ]

[ Sasuke snarls, and the muscles in his biceps flex as he bends his knees, digs in to try and keep his ground. he knows Sakura is doing the same, but the sheer need Naruto has to reach this witch drags both of them two feet forward. the loose gravel on the roof jumps up around Sasuke's sandals.
his gaze snaps up to the witch, then. she's unpredictable, there's no way she won't take this as a challenge.
but Sasuke won't stand by and watch either of them die.
he won't let this bitch get her hands on Naruto again. ]

[ If anything, Sasuke has a better chance of getting Naruto out of there than she does. He has more experience with Naruto like this here, in Death City. Plus, she might be able to distract the Witch longer than Sasuke would.
It doesn't make sense for him to be the one to do this. Sasuke should be the one getting Naruto back to their place -- Sakura will make a better decoy, anyway. While her strength still pales in comparison to what it is back in their world, it's still higher than what an average person would have, and that might serve her well.
She glances back at him, nods, once. ]
I still have my strength from home, and you know his Meister ability better than I do. Get him home, I'll buy you time.

Her hands clap together twice and she mutters under her breath, casting a spell. As her hands spread apart on the second clap, purple lightning shot between her palms as she charged up something.]

With great reluctance, he gives it up as he spaces out one too many times. There are Kishin Eggs to focus on, the injured to protect and escort, and his own body is still recovering. But while he's lost his vision, he still has his special order binoculars from Black Mesa, and he uses them to scan the landscape. They can't see through anything, but from a high enough vantage point..
He follows the falcon- an unusual sight in the city- and sucks in a sharp breath as he first takes in the Witch, and then below..]
Lee!
[He drops down to the streets below, calling out to his partner as he ran]
A witch has found Kakashi's team.
[He doesn't say he needs Lee's speed, knows that his partner will understand without explicit instruction]

So far, Lee felt like he had managed to do his job as a Weapon. He had helped to shield Neji as well as fight alongside him against the monsters attacking the City. But now they were scouting about on foot, searching for others to save or perhaps just another Kishin Egg to fell.
Hearing that Sakura and Naruto and even Sasuke were in trouble, Lee is quick to rush over, vaulting down from a fire escape to the ground at Neji's side.]
Let us hurry!
[He was already returning to his weapon form, reaching out for his Meister until he fell, one baton in Neji's grasp.]
