EVENT: Witch Attack on the City!

Characters: Everyone and anyone
Location: Anywhere in Death City!
Rating: PG-13
Time: August 23
Description: There's a Witch attack on the city and, to make matters worse, there's a dangerous individuals while Meister powers go completely out of control

The evening before there had been a PSA going around the network and the radio to watch out for an individual causing trouble in the city and a reminder to please stay indoors if possible.

Then around midnight something distinctly...strange happens. At first, Weapons probably won't notice, because it's only Meisters who suddenly find their powers flaring up for no apparent reason even when they're not trying to use them.

There's a two hour window where the abilities become stronger until it's practically impossible to control before the alarms in the city sound.

Kishin Eggs have been spotted entering the city in droves and this time they haven't come alone...

((OOC: Please put [Character | Location | OPEN/CLOSED ] in your subject header. Also, please specify in the subject header if you've signed up for a Witch encounter!))

For a while, Genesis was perhaps trapped in the darkest space in his mind, unable to move forward, unable to console himself or shake away from the madness that threatened to take over his mind. However, suddenly, there was a burst of clarity, and a strong voice cut through his darkness: Edgeworth's voice.

And at that very instant, it felt as if the nightmare fell apart and Genesis could finally get away from the guest that was causing chaos. This was it, he was free. He saw Edgeworth calling to him and ran straight to him, only wanting to focus on him alone: his partner who so efficiently cut through all the madness within him and surrounding him.

Once he reached him, grabbed his hand, he took on his Weapon form, finding solace in resonance.

Thank you.

His soul murmured out to his Meister's own. The black blood in him was still singing, but now that Edgeworth had shaken him out of the nightmare, he could focus again and keep it at bay.

Edgeworth let Genesis take his hand, and gripped the hilt of the Rapier once the Weapon transformed. But using his Meister ability left him exhausted, as if he had not slept the previous night, or had just run a marathon. He staggered to his feet, swayed, and dropped onto the ground with a groan, breathing hard. Those last words he shouted seemed to have used up all his energy.

My Meister ability is far stronger than before, but it drains me very quickly...

The prosecutor lifted his head, then slowly attempted to lift the rest of himself up till he was sitting on his heels again. Feebly he resonated with Genesis, still clutching the Rapier in his hands.

I...apologize...

No. It's all right. We need to survive this invasion... just survive...

As much as it hurt Genesis' pride to concede, it was definitely for certain that they couldn't go through more of the fight any longer. Dealing with the nightmare and the Black Blood already wore them both out. And if they were to push themselves any harder, they could run the risk of having the Black Blood pass on and consume them.

Edgeworth tried to get up one more time. This time, though his knees shook, he remained standing, and hurriedly began to walk away. They couldn't fight the strange guest, let alone the invading kishin, in their current condition - a truth that was extremely hard to accept for Edgeworth. With his Meister ability impossible to control and his and Genesis' nightmarish illusions, not to mention the possible effects on the Black Blood...

A kishin egg suddenly stepped out, blocking their path and hissing. He did not raise the Rapier, but gasped out, "Destroy your fellow kishin." The creature scuttled away without any further ado, pointedly ignoring a passerby who was so obviously crouching behind a trash can and shivering.

Anyone who listens to me will be compelled to obey. I can turn any kishin we encounter against its own kind...

Edgeworth leaned against the wall of a nearby alley and paused. Every command would be exhausting him, but right now, he had to use the amplified properties to their advantage...even if it cost him. It is our only option if we are to escape unscathed. I have to use my ability.

Try at least to conserve it, partner... just until we've found a safe haven...

Genesis was also feeling his body terribly weighed down with every passing moment. And he was sure that this was going to affect their resonance. But even so, he does his best to use the last amount of his strength to supplement Edgeworth's energy-- at least lessen the toll each command he gives takes upon his body.

After all, this was why they were partners. They worked together. They won battles together. And if they were to lose, they would lose together. In this case, it was imperative that they must survive together.
