Description: Every morning in the city, Morning Training takes place to prepare the guests of the city for the war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on February March 4th.

"The horns."

A pause.

"...can I touch 'em?"

...... "Again?" What was it with mortals and getting fascinated with his horns of all things.

"I wanna touch the horns." And he spoke as if this was an everyday thing to ask, but that was Kanji for you.

Most tend to refuse outright, however.

He gave him a long, unreadable look for a moment ..and then just sighed. This one was the third who got fascinated with them. Apollo had really gotten him stuck in an interesting form, or so it seemed.

"If I let you, what will you do?"

"...Touch 'em." Yes, Kanji.

"I ain't gonna pull 'em or nothin'."

[kill_some_time]

"Why? They're just horns." But he wasn't stepping away or making any other move to avoid Kanji, should he just try.

"Well yeah, you're used to 'em!"

Welp. He's not moving, so Kanji steps in and reaches for them. He wonders if they're smooth or rough, and if the ends are as pointy as they look.

The ends were as pointy, as Hades had learned the hard way as sleeping in a normal bed with them was riddled with 'accidents' that included stabbed and ripped open pillows and blankets that had gotten caught on them. As for their texture, it varied: the big pair closest to his furry ears was dark and smooth like polished horn while some of the smaller others were gnarled and chipped like the bark of a tree.

"Not really." He waited patiently, letting the younger one take his time to inspect them. "This isn't what my body really looks like."

"Huh? ...'s that supposed to mean?"

Man, the little ones felt kinda like touching a tree. That was weird... but the statement was stranger. Did he transform before, but BREW took that ability away?

He fell silent for a moment, eyes gazing downward in an almost submissive expression. His voice was deceptively gentle and almost feminine when he began to explain.

"They say that the form of the King of the Underworld reflects the heart of those that lay their eyes upon him. Because of that, I may appear to some as a terrible monsters while to others my form is that beguiling that they can impossibly refuse me. Man, woman, baest or child... Everybody sees something different. In the end, one might call me a mirror. What you see is merely a reflection of yourself."

"That... sounds like somethin' I had back home." He lowered his hands, his curiosity sated, and stepped back.

"We had these things called Shadows. They took on all kinds'a forms, somethin' about peoples' thoughts changing 'em. When they got powerful, and somebody with a whole lot stewin' in their mind shows up, they change into that person, a 'reflection' of 'em, whatever they're really thinkin' but amped up a hundred times."
