Description: Every morning in the city, Morning Training takes place to prepare the guests of the city for the war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on February 25th.

[qilby sees what's happening just before it happens and, cursing inwardly, he stiffens to take the hit, letting out all his breath in one go. he doesn't end up on his knees, completely winded like he would have, but it hurts just as much you'd think a sharp elbow in your stomach would.

he stifles a groan and brings his arm (still awkwardly gripping his weapon) to reflexively cradle his middle. but he's not forgotten he's still in a fight and -- seeing how itou was so kind to duck down for him -- brings his knee up in retaliation.]

[Itou takes that knee at the side-ish -- dodging is awkward and blocking with a non-existent hand is impossible -- but instead of stiffening, he allows his body to take it pliantly and drops completely to the ground. It hurts a bit, but not as much as his arm had burned when it had been ripped off, or the bullet holes on his chest, and he had shrugged those off well enough. Itou's foot thrusts out a moment later to sweep Qilby's legs from under him.]

[although it's pretty obvious he's not the most accomplished swordsman in the galaxy, qilby has shown a surprising nimbleness in the past few weeks. perhaps not quite as nimble as most of the other (younger) fighters, but certainly not bad at all for someone thousands of years old. he's got at least a few surprises left, it seems.

it's certainly not entirely his strike that's landed itou down there and so he quickly anticipates the sweep. leaping straight up, long legs bent under him, he avoids the trip and brings his sword down on his descent. he even allows himself a little self-indulgent grin -- he'd always preferred his enemies on the ground.]
