Description: Every morning in the city, Morning Training takes place to prepare the guests of the city for the war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on February 25th.

I have a team, but we don't fight quite so closely, like we're one by now. [He looks around as if to make sure someone can't hear them.] Hey... do partners who have gone all the way to the top, like Deathscythe... does one die if the other does? Like... lose something important in themselves?

Ah well, Sephiroth and I are the best, and we'll prove that well enough. You'll see, soon enough we'll be ranked elites too. [That might be a bit too much boyish enthusiasm there.] Are witches that much harder?

They don't die. We're not connected like that, but... [He visibly struggles with his words for a moment. Because Shinigami died and Spirit lost more than just a partner and a leader to that.] If you've been partners that long, then your partner will be more than just someone to fight with, right? Your partner could be your wife, or your best friend, or... or your family. So... so it will be like losing someone who was important to you in a lot of ways.

[That bothers him, the question, but he smiles at the declaration.] I'm sure you guys will. It'll be great to have more people on that level with us. But as for Witches... there are all sorts, too. You should try Cybele, she can pack a punch.

[He stares for a long moment, uncomfortable with his own question and just as uncomfortable by the answer he receives. He doesn't like losing people close to him; it's happened too much lately anyway.] So if you're close enough, like your partner is your best friend or wife, you could fade like old couples do when one dies....

[He somehow manages to switch gears.] How many will we need to make a difference in this war? [Oh yeah... her.] Yeah, she probably does want to hit me after I tried to befriend her.

You could, but our agents don't usually have the time for that sort of mourning. The war aside, there's always something to do and we can't afford to have our agents break down like that. If your partner dies, we get up, look for a new one, and move on. [chews on his lower lip] At least, that's what I've done.

As many as we can get. Getting to Deathscythe used to take a while because kishin eggs and Witches didn't use to be everywhere like they are now -- so we had eight before Soul became one. I won't be surprised if the rise in enemy activity propels us to get more Deathscythes than we've ever had before. [but that makes him laugh!] She does look like she needs friends, doesn't she?

[He stood rooted on the spot, well aware of that method of dealing with a death. He had used it more than once, but it still seemed... cold.] So tough up, get up and get going... Guess it makes sense rather than wallowing in self-pity.

Well, all the help that you can get. It doesn't seem like a lot of guests have that thought in mind though. [Volunteer war and all that seemed to not motivate many.] Well... yeah. Have you looked at her lately?

There are times when you can afford to grieve and times when you can't. Agents of Shibusen know that they can't just stop, and they can't get themselves killed, either. [scratches the back of his neck] But you know, it's not common for one partner to die in battle and leave the other behind. Partners tend to go down together.

[Ha... ha yeah.] They're trying in their own way. I'll take what we can get. [But he looks puzzled at the comment about Cybele.] Not recently. She gets into a bad mood when she sees me, so I try not to rile her up.

I'm not an agent of Shibusen, so I guess I don't entirely understand. [He remained silent for a few moments before turning his glowing eyes on Spirit.] If I die and Sephiroth remains, I want you to kill him. He'll be the war's end if you don't. [He's deadly serious.]

[He shrugs his shoulders, not so sure about that now that he's seen how many show up for training.] That woman needs a few friends to pull her out of her constant bad mood. If she keeps that frown on all the time, her face will get stuck that way.

You think he'll turn kishin on us? [blink, surprise]

[mutter] I bet her face is always like that anyway... She doesn't like us, though. It's lucky she hates the other Witches just a bit more. Maybe I should take her out for a while and eradicate some kishin egg nests.

I know he will. He will descend into madness. [He shrugged against the reality of that situation.] Off him before he can take his grief out on this world.

So... what does she happen to like? [Aside from hurting people and snarking at anyone who tried to speak with her.] Maybe getting out some of her aggression will ease her off, but I doubt it... she's pretty set.

I'll note it down. [resigned sigh] I'll tell Kid about it, in the offhand that I'm away when it happens.

[blink] Cybele? I don't know... killing things and snarling at her sisters? Witches are naturally destructive, though, so I suppose that's most of them... Since she's a lion, I would think catnip and fish. Blair likes those a lot, but she's a real cat.

Thanks, but it really is for the best. Just hope that if I go, he comes with me.

[Well, she does seem very good at both of those things.] Naturally destructive? You mean they are born that way, being all... high and mighty and raining down death while plotting to overthrow mankind?
