Description: Every morning in the city, Morning Training takes place to prepare the guests of the city for the war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on February 25th.

[It's been good having him back at training, now that he's gotten over this sickness and all the other things that tend to happen in this place. As he's heading on his way out, Tifa catches up to him, done for the day as well.]

Getting back into it all alright?

[He lowered the water bottle when he heard footsteps, and turned to see her. Kanji nodded, rolled his shoulders for good measure.]

Yeah, s'about time, too. I get sick about once a year, and it always feels like a damn truck hit me.

[He paused.]

How you doin'?

[He lowered an eyebrow. It was tough having someone close to you get sent back; he learned that first hand, and rather hoped it wouldn't happen again, but...]

[As usual, Kanji had been a source of comfort to Tifa if nothing else in the fact that he understood what it felt like; they'd both experienced far too many losses here, enough that it brought them closer together in a strange way.]

I'm alright. [She answered honestly, giving a nod before glancing back to the training ground with a slightly sad smile.] It's strange not seeing him here or going for meals afterwards, but... I'll get used to it.

Yeah... I got so used to seein' Senpai n' the others before I got here. Now they pop up n' leave without warning. It's weird, but I'm gettin' used to it, too.

[He sighed through his nose and shrugged.]

Well, at least back home they're safe, right? They don't need to deal with alla this shit.

Right. [She nods with a smile, looking back up at him. Even though she didn't really know what Itachi had returned to, people going back to their homes had to be a good thing, generally.]

Anyway, who's to say we'll never see them again anyway, right? People come back here pretty frequently.

Right! [He nodded.]

BREW's gotta make up its damn mind, though. I think at this point I'd get pissed if it sent me home. I didn't sign up for the war, but... I-I ain't done yet, y'know?

[Tifa can't help but chuckle at that, though she's not really sure how much she feels the same way. Regardless...]

Well, we just have to do what we can while we're here. Are you all ready for the next mission?

[A firm nod and a clenched fist.]

Hell yeah! They won't know what hit 'em! I ain't singin' stupid love songs, so this is gonna go without a hitch!

There are really worse things that could mess us up though, you know. [She spoke teasingly, looking up at him with a slight grin.] At least you're nice to listen to.

[That had him scratching the back of his head.]

I... really? I was gettin' that a lot.

Probably because it's true. You've never really sang much before, have you? Otherwise you probably would know it already.

Yeah. I-I know how to play drums a little bit, but I never really took up the mic n' went for it.

Didn't know what I had until I had all that chocolate on Valentine's Day.

[He looked down, felt his face sting, and let his mind wander to some of the events of that day. Kanji started then, shaking his head as he felt his stomach do a somersault.]

Uh, a-anyway, we got time before we're supposed to head out. Why don't we get some resonance practice in?

I feel like we're close to somethin', but I dunno what.

Maybe our Limit Break's coming up. [Jokingly, but then she realizes he'll have no idea what she's talking about.]

Er... or powering up. We've got quite a few souls, I think we should be due for some kind of upgrade.

[She didn't know exactly what kind of 'upgrade' this world gave weapons and meisters, but people talked of new powers emerging once resonance and kishin egg count was high enough.]

[He furrowed a brow at the term 'Limit Break'. He had an idea what she was talking about, but he was way off.]

Weapon Abilities, right? I know Naoto-kun's let the Meister see weak points... we'll see yours, Tifa! They're gonna be awesome!

[And he looked pumped all over again. He could only imagine what else she was capable of, but damn it if he wasn't eager to find out.]

[She grins slightly at him.]

Well, if they're anything like what I can do at home, it'll probably be more impact and things like that. I couldn't really do elemental stuff without materia, so...

['Impact'. That sounds right up his alley, but a term brought him pause.]

'Materia'?

They're, ah, spheres of spiritual energy, is the best way to describe them. There are a lot of different kinds, and we would load our weapons with them. So let's say I had a lightning materia in my glove, then I could cast lightning spells.

I'm guessin' BREW took away any you had, huh? Lightning punches would be kinda bad ass.

[Oh... damn, he was missing his Persona again.]

[She sighes regretfully.]

All of it. If I had any here, I could have cured you with a cure materia and we could have avoided that whole mess in the living room. [A pointed look.]

[Aaaand he avoided that pointed look, turning his head away.]

Y-yeah, well... It ain't like we broke anything!

Mmhmm. At least you know the next time I tell you to get in bed, you'd better do it.

[She crosses her arms over her chest in a way that told him it served him right.]

You're kinda scary sometimes, y'know that?

[Deep down, that day was kind of fun, sickness aside. He never made it outside, but damn it if he didn't NEED some kind of exercise!]

[Letting out a soft huff, she tried to keep the little smile from tugging at her lips and failed.]

I only wanted you to get better.

...And I do, now. [He nodded.] Thanks.

How 'bout I treat us to dinner later? I've been layin' around on my ass not pitchin' in until now.

Alright, I won't say no to that. [She gave him a full smile now. She didn't mind bringing in most of the money through her bar job, but it was nice of him to offer.]
