Description: Every morning in the city, Morning Training takes place to prepare the guests of the city for the war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on February 25th.

[The way he's digging into the food is probably a good indicator of how delicious he thinks it is. After a few more bites, he grins at her.]

It's like breakfast for dinner.

Up all night? And you come to the morning training like that? [Saya is one to talk, she does that all the time]

If you like it that much, I can cook you an actual lunch, or dinner.

Oh, I joined the Watch! [Okay there might be a bit of pride there, since he is dutifully protecting the city and all.] My shift is midnight to six, so... I sleep in the afternoons now.

[And then the rest of her words sink in.] You would? Really?

[sayatakagi]

Ah, the city's police. Good luck with that.

[she nods softly] Hm, sure. I like to cook and you like my cooking.

[tauborn]

[He looks down at the delicious bowl of miso soup in front of him.]

You know, I don't think I ever thanked you. For... well, for everything.

[And then looks back at her.] Thanks, Saya-kun.

[sayatakagi]

[She shakes her head softly] Don't need to, actually.

I'm not completely selfless, to be honest. [when she is helping someone, she feels like there is some hope for herself. It is a weird feeling.]

[tauborn]

[He shrugs.]

No one ever needs to say thank you.

[And he's already finished that bit of fish, and he's nearly done with the omelet. Just some nori and rice to eat with the remaining miso.]

[sayatakagi]

[she nods softly] I'm glad I could help somehow, though.

[tauborn]

[He finishes and gets up for seconds.]

So... when you're not making breakfast or training, what else do you do?

[sayatakagi]

I work at Metokkori. Just to keep busy, mostly. [she shrugs] I used to attend school, but I guess don't fit well with the American school system.

[tauborn]

You didn't like being at an American school?

[sayatakagi]

That's not it. [it lacks mental competition she is so crazy about] I supposed I just didn't get used to it.

[tauborn]

Is it pretty different from Japanese school?

[Shibusen classes seemed... weird, in their own way, but not so weird that it was difficult to sit through them. But it wasn't anything like a regular school at all, to the point that he didn't even feel the slightest guilt for not attending lately.]

[sayatakagi]

The mentality is. [Saya smiles softly] I spent most of the classes thinking, rather than getting busy. That's why I preferred to take a job instead.

[tauborn]

[He gets it.] And you get some extra money to do stuff if you're working.

[His second helping is going down pretty quickly. Not as quickly as the first, but... he's a hungry boy.]

[sayatakagi]

That too. This way Sendo isn't the only one to have some income. [she likes to be independent like that.]

[tauborn]

[He sets his bowl of miso down carefully and then peers up at the pink-haired girl.]

Sendo is your partner, right? Is he... er... just a partner...?

[Please don't read too much into this question, Saya, he is just curious.]

[sayatakagi]

[she never does, but. Saya is a tsundere.

Her face turns red and she gets as defensive as possible. What's with everyone trying to match her with Sendo lately?!!?]

Whaaaaat?!?!?!?! Of course!! Why would I even care about that muscle head like that! [he quickly grabs a bowl, filling it with rice] He only cares about fighting! And he's completely oblivious to everything!

[yup, she likes him]

[tauborn]

[Yup, he can tell. He hides a tiny smile behind his bowl of soup.]

I see. But at least he makes a good partner, with a muscley head like that, huh~?

[sayatakagi]

[and she finishes filling up the bowl of rice and forgets to put in the rest so she just eats it like that.

Until his next question]

... yeah. He does. [playing with her rice now]

[Okay Saya, you really are being obvious.]

[Yeah, she is. And Sendo is the only person who doesn't notice]

Yeah.

Anyway, I'm an awesome partner too. I'm a genius, so. [ y e p ]

[But that's because he's a musclehead boy.]

Right. Well, you're a cooking genius if you ask me.

And you're a zombie-hunting genius, too. [He raises an eyebrow at her.] But when I'm back in shape, I'll let you know if you're a swordsmanship genius. [He finishes his soup and sets the bowl down with a slight grin.]

[Blinks. And then smirks] Challenge accepted.

[Good luck, Saya. He's been in training since before he can remember.]
