[Open] Morning Training! - February 25th

Time: 6am to 9am

Description: Every morning in the city, Morning Training takes place to prepare the guests of the city for the war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on February 25th.

[Oh, he was especially reactive today, so perhaps he was bitter about more than the inner spoon bit. She didn't mind though, and she found the teasing a little more refreshing when she could so easily get those glares out of him.]

Why don't you swing by my place when you're finished word? We can have dinner or something if you're up for it.

[She glanced down at the knife settled into the grass, point down. Her foot moved to sweep the weapon up into the air and caught it before going back to tapping it against her thigh.]

That much is obvious. You sure can dodge well... and you have proven ranged is your preference. We can resonate if you like?

I will be working late tonight. [It was true, as they were investigating that possible serial killer that's on the loose, but he found it as a good excuse to avoid any further rebellion between his mind and his body.]

[The knife clattered down to the grass, but he made no move to pick it up. Kerrigan was well on that task either way, and she seemed content to do so in a flashy way. It was impressive, but he didn't show that aspect of his thoughts either.]

While flattering, my job is with investigation and not fighting.

Well, I usually work late too, so perhaps after you're finished. [She was fully aware that he had no intention of coming within miles of her place, but she had to put the effort in. It was the only thing that brought him anywhere close to her after all, but his disdain for being close was obvious.]

Yet, this is a war, and everyone needs to be practiced in defending themselves when the city is attacked. You found that out the hard way last time. [She had tricked him into resonance, but she knew he would eventually be in a situation that required offense rather than defense.]

[He should have known that would have been her answer. Yuri had been a fool to think that it would be anything else.] Perhaps, but we shall see how time permits.

While your concern is noted, I will take my chances Miss. Kerrigan.

[She expected the non-commitment from him, and she shrugged her shoulders in regards to it. She had been spying on him long enough to know he was very private and didn't take time out other than work.] Yes, I suppose we will. I take it you won't be returning to your Watch post for awhile?

[Ah, he was so frustrating, but she knew better than to do anything rash in front of so many.] I see. Well, if there is an attack, I'll just have to rescue you.

Not until the suspected serial killer has been caught. Although I'm certain that those within the Watch are more than capable of filing away their own paperwork. I will not, however, cease contact with the Watch since they are an important factor to solving this case.

[He paused at her comeback and blinked in surprise. That was something he hadn't expected, but he quickly schooled his expression again.] I will make it a point to not place myself into such situations. Besides, you would have far more important matters to attend to.

Hmm, I have my own investigation into the matter. [He already knew that given the situation she managed to get her agreement for a date from.] I hope I'm not the one to catch him though.

[She smirked at his momentarily lapse before looking off towards the training field to make certain there wasn't anyone waiting.] I think I can decide for myself what's most important. Keep out of trouble or learn to use weapons. [She paused to examine him.] Or you're probably afraid to show me you know a thing or two. So many secrets.

[He remembers, but he purposefully didn't make mention of remembering in case it brought up another attempt to blackmail him into a date. He didn't want to patch up any further injuries.] This individual is a criminal who needs to be brought to justice. Unless I am mistaken with your statement.

You need not fear me falling into trouble, Miss. Kerrigan. [Yuri wisely doesn't make a comment about her last statement.]

[She's hoping for another date to come complacently this time, but she's laying in wait to ask. Of course, he did approach her as much as he probably would, so now she's seriously thinking about it.] Is he really? Murdering people who have a history of killing? Dig deep enough and all of them have that connection. It's merely a case of vigilante justice, very commonly seen on any world where the current justice system isn't good enough.

[She would decide on that, not him. She figures she knows danger a little better than he did at the present time.] I'll check on you anyway. I can use the excuse of being a member of the Watch if it will ease you conscious.

Murder is murder regardless of the form it comes in. These criminals who were killed could have been caught and brought it for justice. Instead this individual is taking matters into their own hands and undermining the justice system.

[He glanced away from her dismissively. He's one to hardly need babysitting. Wisely he opts not to answer though.]

[She is shaking her head half-way through his explanation, waving a hand as it to shoo away fly by the end.] If the justice system could keep up, then this kind of individual wouldn't feel the need to take matter into their own hands.

[She notes his lack of response and smirks.] Me checking up on you won't injure male pride too much, will it?

No one is above the law, Miss. Kerrigan. [It was as simple as that to him.]

I see it was being nothing more than a waste of your time.

Better to let murderers have a taste of their own medicine than let them hurt more innocence. [She's doesn't deny the use of a justice system, but with her own plans of vigilante justice, she can't help but sympathize with the serial killer.]

I don't consider you a waste of my time. [She turns herself to the side and looks back at the training grounds.] We should do dinner again sometime. I enjoyed it.

[That was something that he didn't agree with, and he could see that she would not be swayed to how criminals should be dealt with. He saw little point in debating such ethics, and so he kept silent on the matter.]

[The mention that he wasn't a waste of her time had his eyes narrowing. He had no clue as to how to handle this situation, or any with Kerrigan, and felt ill-prepared.]

Only if time permits. [Is that a yes or a no? Ask him, and he'll tell you that it's a no...]

[Their little debate was over with a clear difference in opinion, and she allowed it to slip by when he did. There was no point in arguing over moral matters; morals weren't her strong point.

She considered his answer before nodding her head in agreement.] Yes, of course you're right. I'll just have to set some time aside, and then it will be no problem.

[That.... wasn't what he'd been hoping to achieve, but it appeared as though Kerrigan had decided to twist his words again.

Huffing lightly beneath his breath, he half-turned away dismissively. He didn't say anything, but adjusted the cuffs on his sleeves. Perhaps he should just go before any more foolishness occurred?]

[He both said nothing and provided an opportunity that she wasn't about to pass up when he made to look like he was considering leaving. She took a single step up to him and slipped her arms around his waist, pulling him behind the tree for some privacy even if all she wanted was a brief moment to hold him.

Besides, it would most likely earn her his amusing frown as she tried to hook her chin on his shoulder.] So, dinner at your place in a few days then? I'll provide this time.

[It was best that he simply disappeared and let Kerrigan be. It had been a mistake coming anywhere near this location. He moved to step away, but Yuri's attempt to retreat didn't get too far when he suddenly felt arms slipping around his waist moments before he was pulled behind a tree.

Kerrigan got what she wanted as he frowned unhappily at her misconduct.]

I suggest no such thing.

[Her arms slipped a little more tightly around his waist, keen on keeping him where she wanted him for a few moments. She rested her chin over his shoulder and hummed softly at his refusal. Awww, he made it sound like he had a choice in the matter.

Still, she enjoyed that frown of his, lacing her fingers together around his waist and leaning against his back.]

Mmm, well, you provided dinner last time, so it's my turn. That seems fair.

[He didn't like the fact that her grip around him tightened, and he finally glanced down at her with a displeased expression. She wouldn't release him, he knew, but that wouldn't stop him from wanting her to.]

You need not do such things, Miss. Kerrigan.

[Oh, he still wore that unhappy expression on his face, which amused her to no end. However, he didn't fight her grip for a change, and it seemed like an obvious improvement in her own mind.

So much so that she felt bold enough to release one arm around him in order to lift her fingers to stroke the back of his neck, hiding her hand with his ponytail.] Mmm, but I want to. Perhaps I'll just surprise you with it, since I know how much you enjoy surprises.

[Yuri wouldn't deny that the first thought at her partial release was to escape the hold. He wanted distance between them, but knew that he had to play the patient cat waiting to strike.

His entire body shivered when her fingers touched the back of his neck - so much so that he used it as an opportunity to place some distance between them as he moved to twist out of her one-armed hold.]

As entertaining as that sounds I believe that I'll sit this one out.

[She knew better than to struggle with him in a potentially public place, but she was contented and pleased by the shiver that ran through him. Her fingers stroked one more time before he managed to slip her hold and got away.

She crossed her arms over her chest in a casual gesture to prevent her arms from automatically reaching out to snag him again. She leaned against the tree and watched his back.]

Very well. I'll wait a few days then.

[He couldn't understand how he could be cursed with such bad luck when it came to this woman. The Judge knew that she had let him go without a fight, and it left him displeased with such a thought. Just what was it about this woman that threw him off his game so much? It was an irritating situation to realise, and he seemed helpless to do anything about it as well.

Yuri took a few steps away before politely turning back around to regard her. His expression showed his disdain for what had happened, but he schooled his features before calmly speaking.]

You should be focusing on your work.

[Oh, even from where she was leaning, she could feel the emotions that were leaking off of him. They were strong at this point, his displeasure and his disdain for her. She wondered how deep that went because there were moments he showed none of those.

She simply continued to watch him before shrugging a little.] I think I can handle my workload as well as providing dinner. I can multitask.
