Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on April 24th.

Of course, that as well. I am a tsukumogami after all.

I have never heard that word before.

[Despite appearances, Sheena isn't from Earth.]

Tsukumogami are objects that have gained being and life of their own.

Oh. So you're an object come to life? Which means your experience is in going from object to human, and not the other way around, right?

[She pauses.]

How hard was that the first time you did it?

[She may be asking an innocent question, or trolling. In Sheena's case, it's a little of both.]

More or less, thou hast it correct. But the process matters little when thou spends time going between the two so frequently.

The first time...? It simply happened on its own.

So, kind of like what some people experience here.

I had a friend who told me her change happened during an earthquake when she wasn't even thinking about it.

Hmm, that seemeth brought on by a high time of stress, doth it not? And that can certainly catalyze the powers of some tsukumogami, mine own transformation was rather mundane. As a tsugumomo, the acclimation of my being as a creature with life and will from an object was a gradual change.

[Sheena nods. Times of stress or even times of not even really thinking about things can bring about the sudden change--simply because your body's ready for it. It's the mind that has to catch up.]

How gradual? A couple of friends gave me advice, but I think because I meditate helped me out. Otherwise, I'd probably still be having problems.

[That's her theory, anyway, since ninja are supposed to be stealthy and know some neat tricks of deception and change.]

Well... over the course of years, really. I grew consciousness, and then after that, obtained the ability to assume a human form. It happened much without mine thinking about it.

Years? That is gradual. [She looks out over the field at those trying--some succeeding, some growing frustrated--in their attempts.]

Unfortunately, not everyone has that opportunity.

[She turns back to the girl.]

If you don't mind me asking, but what's your other form?

So it seemeth. I suppose, if I were but a normal obi and someone told me to become a tsukumogami right away, it would be like as troublesome. Fact aside that they would be a fool talking to a piece of cloth.

[She grins at that question]

I am Kiriha, tsugumomo of the sakura obi.

[Sheena stares at the girl for a moment, then at her own obi, then back again.]

You're kidding...

[Said not in a tone of disbelief, but in that "Wow. I've got something to tell you" tone.]

Hmm? I have not reason to lie about mine identity.

No. I didn't mean it that way. It's just that...

[And she proceeds to partially trans form her arm into her Weapon form.]

Hmhm, that's quite a coincidence! How amusing.

If we just had a kimono, we could be a set.

Still, an obijime... what sort of technique art thou used with?

[Sheena actually stops to think about that.]

Hmmm. I'm not so sure. There are people who can use two Weapons. If they can be smuggled into an area as being worn, then yes, I'd work with you that way.

[She's a ninja, that's how she thinks.]

I can be used as a whip. I have some elemental properties, too.

Oh, surprisingly practical. [For how pissy you were being before]

[That's Sheena. She's more mercurial than a thermometer, and changes temperatures even faster.]

Yeah. The different colored thread represent an element. Red for Fire, orange for Earth and so on.

Ho, quite interesting. I'm almost a bit jealous of that versatility, though I've mine own.

[She sighs and looks at her arm as it changes back.]

It's not really versatile. Back home, I could use different elemental cards equally. Here, I think the resonance I have with a Meister decides on only one that can be used.

[She looks at the other woman.]

What's your ability?

Ho, I see. So thine element changes to suit thy master's preference?

{Kiriha grins at that question]

I can be woven into a large variety of forms and weapons, be it blade, shield or spear.

[A length of obi comes out from behind her, curling up into a large drill shape]
