Morning Training

Time: 6am to 9am
Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on April 24th.

[It's early in the morning and she's lazing about. She has a training sword, a shield, and a whip besides her for use, but she can fight without them if desired. For now, she remains looking cuddly and harmless with a yawn.]

Hey, Amaterasu. *It's that wolf that tears about kishin eggs.*

[She looks up and her maw opens in a happy pant. Hello!]

[It's been a while since he bumped into the wolf. However, Six remembers her from the clinic when he'd gotten his blood drawn for those tests.]

[He knows better than to let the look of a harmless dog deceive him.]

[With a mundane staff over her shoulders, a cartoon penguin bandaid on her cheek covering the worst of the scratches and a bandage on her hand, Akiha zeros in on Ange.]

Partners not a factor here, Ushiromiya. I have a question for you: Think you can take me? Or am I going to have to be the one to take your partner out to get his first Kishin egg?

[Yup... Akiha was sort of picking a fight.]

[ She's still not too confident with her skills - but that's why she's here, right? She wants to learn more so she can not seem embarassing compared to Yuri, she's supposed to be the Meister, after all. But just as she's looking around to see who she should spar with, she hears a familiar voice. At first it doesn't seem like such a bad thing, but.. then she hears the words.

That last line gets way too close to issues she's been (silently and secretly) worried about herself. It's like nails on a chalk board. ]

Shut up. What does that last part have to do with sparring? [ But her eyes narrow a little, hands clinging on a little more to the practice sword she's holding. It's obvious that got her if it slips through her usual pokerface. ]

Sparring? [Akiha laughed.] I suppose if you're that weak, I can go easy on you, but that won't help your partner. Maybe my knight needs someone better.

If you can't take me on without my partner, without me using my meister ability, using only my base skills... how do you ever expect to defeat a kishin egg? Or even a maddened animal?

...didn't one of those defeat you before?

[So, she's kind of figured out what people are up to here, so why not - if there are those who'd like to take her in combat, she's willing to offer... because really, how good at fighting can a short, skinny girl like her be? At least she's wearing something vaguely suited to sparring in instead of a full kimono like usual...]

Of course, he's not really jumping at the chance to prove otherwise. Since her question, he's looking directly at her, either sizing her up or just staring rudely. It's hard to tell.]

[This thin waif-looking guy definitely looks like he lost his way and stumbled in here the way he is just standing there and staring.

However, there's also the fact that he is holding a practice sword in one of his hands with ease.

[He's got a practice sword in each hand. And no, one of them is not for you.

But he's happy to spar with you for the sake of everyone becoming stronger to protect Death City. If you want to keep it a friendly spar, avoid bringing up topics like his former partner Aion or his recent fight with his girlfriend Yako.]

[Sasha gives a friendly wave, significantly less armed than the other.]

[After making sure breakfast will be alright, Fabiola can be found on the edge of the sparring area, stretching or observing other fights. Later on in the morning, she may even be clad in yellow-and-black armor- so if you want to take a swing at her and Bumblebee both, feel free to try.]

[Bee is standing by her near the edge of the sparring area, watching everyone spar. He tosses a message to her device.]

Do you think we will get any takers for a spar today?

[She blinks, then peers over her shoulder at him to give a slight shrug before replying, occasionally peeking up from her mirror to eye those still sparring.]

I certainly hope so. If nothing else, we can still practice resonating a bit later.

Beginners

[Hanabi's not a beginner herself, but she's there to oversee and train beginners. Part of that comes from experience. She knows how to pull her punches and fight defensively in order to let the other person work on their own techniques.

She'll only move in for strikes if the other person leaves an obvious opening that even a first year Academy student would see.]

[He's not an instructor anymore, but with the way he weaves between and around pairs of sparring partners, monitoring them with a critical eye, the mistake could be a simple one to make. But he's simply there for form critique and general advice, and to separate fights in the case they happen to go too far.

And if anyone wants to follow up on meditation practice, he's happy to assist until his lecture later. For the moment however, he's not doing much, so feel free to approach him]

[Cloud is a little more involved, sometimes physically stepping in and taking on both sparring people on his own to show them what should be done. He's fair about it, letting them try any mistakes on him before going back to sparring with each other again. He gives advice to any that he meets who is willing to listen.

He eventually takes a step back to watch some of the more advanced pairs spar, and he finds himself close enough to a familiar face. They haven't spoken much, if at all before, but he knows Neji as a skilled fighter.]
