Morning Training

Time: 6am to 9am
Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on April 24th.

[It's appropriate that one of them is a Meister and one of them is a Weapon. Of course, it's unclear if they'll be able to work well together. Well, that isn't quite true. They will work well together it's more a matter of if their skills are truly compatible. Since there's only one way to find that out without going on a mission, they're here.

Trowa prefers learning these things with someone he trusts anyway.]

Yeah sure, if you are! [ He sticks out his right hand, waiting for Trowa to take it with his dominate hand before he closes his eyes, focuses, and BAM - ever wondered what it was like to fight in Deathscythe, Trowa? Because you're about to find out in one way or another. ]

[He takes Duo's hand then tests his weight once he's a Deathscythe, getting a feel for him. Since he's capable of using any weapon really, he shows no sign of struggle. It's not like much would be too heavy for him. Not with those arm muscles.]

You're well balanced.

Thanks - that's what I was usually wrenching on after missions - making sure everything was balanced and stuff... [ He pauses, seemingly to allow Trowa to get a feel of things for the moment. He doesn't want to break his concentration, after all, when he was getting ready to swing him around and all that lot. ]

I won't deploy the blades for now.. til you get used to how to handle it..

[He starts swinging and twirling Duo around experimentally. To get a feel for him in his hands and to see if that works for the other as well.]

Yeah well don't want anyone losing a limb or something...

[ Not that it'd be entirely his fault, but still. It's better to think of preventing danger rather than how to reattach a limb... ] Just remember I'm not a baton, huh?

I'm aware.

[He moves about now, testing how Duo moves in this space. It'll be trickier in tight areas but that's something they can work on.]

[ It's a bit worrisome, being flung around. He's used to being the one to be doing the movements with the Deathscythe, after all. He trusts Trowa, but his inner control freak is losing it a little about handling, not so much the spinning or anything else.

... Space training gives one an iron stomach, if living on scraps didn't do the trick. ]

Just tell me when you're ready..

Are you ready? I'm aware that you're used to having more control.

[braidedwonder]

[ ... He forgot that being like this meant that Trowa could feel his trepidation. Duo sighs and makes a note to remember that in the future. ]

I'm just used to being the one whippin' this thing around.. but I'm ready when you are..

Go ahead and deploy the blades. I have a feel for you.

[And he holds Duo steady while he waits.]

Okay. Having them out for a long time depletes my energy, so far as I've seen yet, just so you know...
[ All it takes is a few moments of concentration beyond that and the familiar whir of the energy blades comes to life, the usual bright green glow of the dual blades would have made an effective torch had the sun not already been up. ]

I'll need to learn to use you in a way that I can get the job done quickly then.

[That shouldn't be difficult, it's the method he tends to use anyway. Looking at the blades, he swings the blade and shifts his weight.]

That or teach you to output less energy so you can last longer.

Or just have a system where I only deploy the blades when need be. I think I can gauge that pretty well, considering we've pretty much had the same training between the two of us...

I've thought about less energy to output, too, but that makes the blades smaller and more dull. Or at least, it did on Deathscythe..

[Hey, he's not a Weapon. He doesn't know how this works completely.]

Yeah I can. So I can gauge when it's time or when it isn't... And of course if you think I need to go a little earlier or whatever you can always signal me, you know?

[Ah Partner training... these two were already starting to get the hang of it by now, but it never hurt to keep practicing no matter how good you were at something! If they just stopped now, they'd never match their wavelength perfectly... but that's speaking like they were having second thoughts about training or something! Of course they're two eager-beavers this morning, excited to get started as soon as possible.

Yuuichi finds a good spot with enough room for practice, and turns himself with his crutches to look at his partner, a huge grin on his face.]

Are you ready to start, Taiyou-kun?

Ready!

[ Well, even if they've got resonance in itself down, it's not as if they've started fighting yet. They've got to be prepared for when the heat of battle begins to jar their resolve. --Or well, it can try! Looking at them now, it doesn't look like anything can shake them.

Taiyou extends a hand to Yuuichi with a smirk. Maybe they can do that totally cool thing with the automatic equip instead of picking him up once he's transformed! What do you mean they can do that kind of thing in canon we're not from that point. ]

[Alright, let's try this out! He reaches out towards Taiyou and grabs his hand, his body glowing as he starts to transform. His crutches fall to the ground where he had been standing as now he was transformed into his shield form, right into Taiyou's hand.

No matter how many times he transformed, the feeling was always new and exciting to Yuuichi.]

Alright Taiyou-kun! What should we start today's training with?

Maybe we should cut those targets down to size!

[ Oh yeah, that sounded cool just now, didn't it!? Of course, it's not going to be that easy out in the field, but for now Taiyou would live up his gusto for all it was worth. Stepping in front of the standing stick which would soon be neatly sliced into two, he looks down at his partner to ask a question, even if he already knew the answer. It never hurts to be polite. ]

Good to go?

[ Shouting along with his strike, the slice is clean through. Taiyou smugly continues to fell a second! And a third! ]
