Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on May 18th.

[Genesis will be one of the trainers here, although he's been considering helping with Weapons Handling. But he supposes that's part of combat instruction, too. He looks pretty approachable, and so do the two dogs near him.]

[Well, if she's going to fight she supposes she ought to learn a little more about it. After all, she knows it's not quite as simple as just transforming and letting someone fight with her, convenient as it might be.

And that being so, might as well start with someone she knows.]

Good morning, Rhapsodos-san.

Good morning, Miss Sonohara. How are you today?

Um, I'm okay, thank you. Ah...are you busy? I don't want to keep you.

[Even though she's here to learn which is kind of the point]

[He laughs a bit.] I'm not busy at all. I have no students lined up for me. Is anything the matter?

[closedherheart]

No...no, um.

[She's still getting the hang of this morning training thing]

I just thought...I don't want to feel like I'm relying on everyone else here. I still don't know how involved I want to be, but it feels like I should start learning...just in case.

[recitings]

Mm. I can understand the feeling. And I do agree. It's best to know some self-defense, even if you don't intend to seriously join the war.

So, what do you want to learn? Swords are my specialty, but I know how to use all kinds of weapons, too. I used to help with Weapons Training.

Ah, well...swords are my speciality too. At least, as far as I have a speciality at all.

[As he probably remembers since, well, it's part of what's led to her Weapon form now]

Well then... we can begin with swords. It should also come in handy once you learn how to partially transform.

[He hands her a wooden practice sword while he takes one for himself.]

Let's work on your defense first. I'll come at you. Try to block me as well as you can.

All right.

[She'll definitely have to look into partial transformation at some point. Certainly closer to what she's used to than anything else.

She moves into position as she takes the sword, testing to get a feel for the weight of it. Not exactly what she's used to but hopefully that shouldn't matter too much.]

[When Genesis attacks, he does it at about an eighth of the intensity and strength he puts into serious battle-- in other words, he was keeping his movements simple. Mimicking a brute attacker someone could encounter on the street, he tries to strike Anri's head.]

[Eighth of the intensity or not, practice or not, Anri still freezes for a split-second before she allows instinct to kick in. She brings her sword up to block, though not quite able to follow through either to back up or push back]

[Cloud is ready and willing to get kicked around and kick other people around. He finds it a mutual hobby and the bruises are the prize to be won. Want to spar too? He's into that too.]

[Hello person Barnaby has never met before. Barnaby originally attended without a plan, deciding he'd spend his first session just checking out the individuals in the area and the arrangement of these fighting techniques, but he's sure he can probably start out with a good practice match or two. He decides not to challenge anyone just yet, just standing awkwardly nearby, watching the others.]

[Even if Cloud didn't remember their encounter in the alley or seeing Barnaby around, he knew the man by feel alone. He turned his head to regard the other man, and he looked around to see if he could spy Sephiroth nearby. No, they were alone in that respect.

Without caring too much, he approached.] I know you. Want to spar or... are you here just to watch?

[sentiments]

[At the other man's words, Barnaby looked up in surprise, oddly wondering what this weird sensation was. He couldn't put his finger on it, but it really did feel as though they had encountered each other before... Or... something like it.

It was enough to hold Barnaby's attention, and he took a step closer.]

You know me?

[By now, he's used to feeling the link of JENOVA cells together, so he's perfectly used to sensing others who have Sephiroth's cells inside of them. He tilted his head at he regarded the other man who seemed... confused.]

Yes, we met once in an alley, though I've seen you around here and there. Yet... I know you better than that now. Sephiroth hasn't been hounding you much, has he?

[sentiments]

[There was just a completely blank stare.]

I... apologize. But would it by chance be that you're being possessed by the previous owner?

[de_faulty_hero]

[Hmm, that was interesting. It appeared to be something going on, especially with a question like that.]

No, I'm in possessive of my own senses. You don't remember me?

[sentiments]

[Barnaby looked down and sighed.]

I... don't recall any sort of previous stay. I've been... told I've been here before, but--

Well, you...

[He sighs and just shakes his head.] It's nothing.

[de_faulty_hero]

[Understanding dawns on him, and he folds his hands behind his head.]

I see, you left and came back without memories. I've heard that happening a lot.

Have you met my partner again, tall silver-haired man in leather?

[sentiments]

Same... It's rather frustrating living such a way.

[He shook his head again, quite slowly.]

I can't say that I have. He'd be pretty unmistakable if I ever did see him.

Ah well, I think I understand better than most, not that it's happened to me here. The best way to deal with it is just living your life and reforging old bonds.

[Especially those one didn't remember that other people did. Sometimes it jogged the old memory.]

I've no doubt he's keeping an eye on you.

[sentiments]

I see... It seems like the only option, at this rate.

[His eyes just narrow at that.] Tell me about this person. I may as well begin reforging this bond first, if I'm under the surveillance.
