Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on May 18th.

[At the other man's words, Barnaby looked up in surprise, oddly wondering what this weird sensation was. He couldn't put his finger on it, but it really did feel as though they had encountered each other before... Or... something like it.

It was enough to hold Barnaby's attention, and he took a step closer.]

You know me?

[By now, he's used to feeling the link of JENOVA cells together, so he's perfectly used to sensing others who have Sephiroth's cells inside of them. He tilted his head at he regarded the other man who seemed... confused.]

Yes, we met once in an alley, though I've seen you around here and there. Yet... I know you better than that now. Sephiroth hasn't been hounding you much, has he?

[sentiments]

[There was just a completely blank stare.]

I... apologize. But would it by chance be that you're being possessed by the previous owner?

[de_faulty_hero]

[Hmm, that was interesting. It appeared to be something going on, especially with a question like that.]

No, I'm in possessive of my own senses. You don't remember me?

[sentiments]

[Barnaby looked down and sighed.]

I... don't recall any sort of previous stay. I've been... told I've been here before, but--

Well, you...

[He sighs and just shakes his head.] It's nothing.

[de_faulty_hero]

[Understanding dawns on him, and he folds his hands behind his head.]

I see, you left and came back without memories. I've heard that happening a lot.

Have you met my partner again, tall silver-haired man in leather?

[sentiments]

Same... It's rather frustrating living such a way.

[He shook his head again, quite slowly.]

I can't say that I have. He'd be pretty unmistakable if I ever did see him.

Ah well, I think I understand better than most, not that it's happened to me here. The best way to deal with it is just living your life and reforging old bonds.

[Especially those one didn't remember that other people did. Sometimes it jogged the old memory.]

I've no doubt he's keeping an eye on you.

[sentiments]

I see... It seems like the only option, at this rate.

[His eyes just narrow at that.] Tell me about this person. I may as well begin reforging this bond first, if I'm under the surveillance.

[de_faulty_hero]

It can be until you find something better.

[Cloud just looks the same and instead folds his arms across his chest.] He's from my world, and he watches things that he considers to be his. He also doesn't like other people messing with what is his, so he would most likely protect you in a time of need... he might even take you in if there was a need.

The bond itself is inside you. Have you ever gotten the sensation that someone's eyes are on you? The link is like that, but he has more control. He can shut you out or be aware of you with it.

[sentiments]

Then that's what I'll do. Start off small, and progress from there.

[But once Cloud starts talking about the bond, Barnaby tenses up, feeling unbelievably uncomfortable by this new knowledge.]

But... why would I have this bond with him, if I don't know him? Is that something this world is capable of doing?

Before you left before, he gave you part of himself. [He hesitates, not really wanting to explain Sephiroth bled all over Barnaby. That seems a little grim.] His cells are in you and so a bond was created.

I suspect that you are the same person as you were before you left just... somewhere different on your own timeline. It doesn't make a lot of sense, but... I'm aware of you as if you are bonded with him.

[sentiments]

A... part of himself?

[He looks rather horrified by the thought. There's no way to hide how disturbing it is to hear that some stranger's cells are inside him and that stranger was watching him.

Barnaby takes a step back, shaking his head.]

You... must be mistaken. I'm quite certain there's no such bond between me and anyone, especially no one in this world.

[de_faulty_hero]

[Cloud shrugs, letting the other man take it all in and decide for himself if he believed it. He had a feeling it might be a little too much to take in after leaving and coming back. Maybe it's an illusion of the old link clinging? He can't tell the difference but Sephiroth could.]

Might I ask your name?

[This was the second time someone's just given him a shrug. Barnaby's not so certain he likes the idea of someone just dropping the issue, but... in a way, he's also relieved. With a small nod, he planned on returning to ask him any questions. But soon one came to mind.]

And... Sephiroth, the white-haired male you mentioned earlier?

[de_faulty_hero]

I'm Cloud.

[He watches Barnaby for a long moment before he nods his head in response to the second question.]

Sephiroth, my partner.

[sentiments]

Then... Thank you, Cloud. If I need to, I'll seek you out, or your partner.

[Though he's hoping he never will, because ugh what is this all?!]
