Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on May 18th.

*The heat has made Alucard renounce his Victorian clothing and opt for a sort of track suit that can be unzipped at the top and bottom to reveal a T-shirt and biker shorts if necessary. For now, Alucard is practicing with a wooden sword and taking occasional breaks to drink water. Will you approach this really man with really long blond hair?*

[Speak of the devil, Naoto comes walking over in a moment, having left the other instructors to handle things for a few minutes.]

Good morning, Alucard-san. I see you've abandoned the usual attire as well.

It is a bit warm to wear so many clothes. I may have to start putting up my hair if it gets warmer. *As nice as Al's hair looks, there's a lot of it.*

[A brief grin and a nod to the detective in greeting.]

I heard gettin' your hair off the back of the neck helps cool ya down. I dunno if you could ponytail it or braid it or whatever. ...The hell d'you use on it, anyway?

Hm... perhaps some form of topknot?

[Though, that might be too old-fashioned. Naoto cuts her hair after all.]

I suppose I could try braiding it. There certainly is enough of it to braid. Or to do a top knot.

*Alucard turned to Kanji* What do I use? You mean, what do I wash it with? I can never remember but Raidou found some particularly effective conditioner at the store. I must purchase it all with my own funds.

*The dhampir is struck by how easy it is now to talk with both of them. Perhaps...* Actually, I am glad you are both here. There is something I need to tell both of you.

I could try askin' him. I've been, uh, tryin' to deal with how dry the air is around here... s'messin' up my hair after I touch up the bleach.

Perhaps you should try an alternative. Though, bleaching isn't good for your hair anyway.

[Chemicals Kanji. She raises her head slightly at Alucard's statement]

*Bleaching...oh, so blond was not Kanji's actual hair color? Interesting note to file away for later.*

I feel as though I can tell you this in the strictest confidence. *Alucard took a breath.* I am not human. I am a dhampir, one born of the union between a human and a vampire.

It was not my intent to decei...*he then stops* That is not true. It was my intent to deceive, but not through any malice or ill intent. The time I am from, I am not looked upon with any favor because of my bloodline. So I thought I would fit in best here if no one knew the truth. I have been starting to think otherwise for certain individuals.

[He immediately remembered the thought he had when he went to the mall with him, where he swore this guy looked like he'd turn into a bat and fly away any minute. His stomach clenched, embarrassed, when he realized he was right on the freaking money and wondered if Chie-senpai felt like this when she struck gold.]

[He wasn't the best with words, just staring at Alucard now. What do you say to that, 'congrats on coming out of the coffin'?]

Ah, a dhampir.

[She doesn't sound too surprised. Of course, wouldn't have actually guessed a dhampir.]

I wouldn't concern yourself with having deceived people. You had a valid reason. If anything, people here would be more concerned about individuals who practiced witchcraft or are witches in their world. Still, it would be unfortunate for them to face persecution because they are witches. The rules don't apply to them.

Detective Naoto, you are taking this in stride admirably and I appreciate it. Raidou did much the same when I told him. However...Kanji? Are you...distressed by what I just told you?

I have never had a problem with sunlight, nor do I need blood to sustain myself. *He certainly COULD rejuvenate himself with it via a spell but he's not going to reveal THAT. It's not strictly necessary to life, more to intense combat.*

A variety of my powers and abilities were stripped from me upon my arrival. And...I see that a version of my father is well known in this world.

We should be fortunate that BREW has decided not to bring my father here. The Witches would have a staunch ally in him, I am certain.

Although...Kanji, you seemed as though you expecting me to admit something else. I am curious what that was.

[The more Kanji talked, the more Naoto turned her head in his direction with her expression falling. MOST SUBTLE DELIVERY EVER. If he's going to suspect that much, he should just be direct.]

Pardon, Kanji. He doesn't know how to contain his curiosity... not that it's any of our business...

You thought we weren't partners anymore? I am uncertain what gave you that impression, but I assure you we are still partners and friends and the closest of allies.
