Morning Training
Characters: Everyone!
Location: Training Ground, Shibusen
Rating: PG-13 for violence
Time: 6am to 9am
Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on April 24th.
Official areas:
FAQ: In need of help or answers? Come here! Staffed by Tenten and Neji.
Breakfast: The incentive for coming to Morning Training for those who actually don't care about Death City. All food providers are given funds to buy/prepare the food and are then paid for the time they spent cooking/preparing. Provided by Saya and Fabiola
Combat Instruction: One can learn and improve on fighting techniques! Staffed by Cloud and Genesis
Sparring: A bunch of people are there. You show up and pick one to fight. Staffed by Hanabi (beginners), Fabiola (intermediate), Amaterasu and Cloud (advanced), and Overseen by Neji
Weapon Transformation: New Weapon? Unsure on how to transform into a weapon (or how to transform back)? Go here! Staffed by Bakura, Aqua, and Gray
Soul Perception: Find out more about your soul, what they are, and what they potentially may do.
Partner Training: Learn how to work as a partner!
Weapons Handling Training: Learn how to handle sharp things and not so sharp things! Staffed by Tenten and Auron
Shooting Range: Learn to shoot a gun, not at quail though, so expect your face to come out of this just fine. Staffed by Sarah Kerrigan, Naoto, Giroro
Meister Ability Helpers: Learn about your Meister ability and how to use it. Staffed by Edgeworth
Finding a Partner: Unpartnered Weapons and Meisters meet each other here!
Medics: A place for medics to hang out, recruit and aid the injured - especially if they get shot in the face by accident. Staffed by Rosalia and CR-S01
Watch: This is where members of the watch meet up, chill, recruit and train! People interested in the watch welcome!
SEES: This is where SEES members hang out, and recruit!
Hug Brigade: A begrudgingly still opened squad dedicated to hugs of encouragement. Thank Lee for this! Staffed by Lee
Evacuation Briefing/Process: Learn what to do in case the city is invaded. Will most likely come in handy for the future! Staffed by Tenten and Neji
Feel free to make your own threads!

I don't know if you've ever noticed, but it's pretty difficult to just get someone who's carrying you to stop doing it even when you tell them to stop! [ Even if a faint deeply buried part of her might actually be happy that someone at least cares enough to protect her like that to begin with. ]

'He's always trying to protect me first.'
Always. That means that wasn't the first time. Yes, a Weapon is supposed to protect her Meister, but she has to trust the Meister to know her limits. Sion only ever stops me when she knows I'm putting myself in unnecessary danger or not recognizing that I can't go any further.
[She presses the staff down some more.]
But danger and potential of failure is something the Weapon has to accept. There is always the chance that the Meister might get hurt, might even die. If he cannot make himself let you fight your own battles, take your own hits, bleed and put your life in danger... then he shouldn't be your partner.
And if you can't get him to understand that, find someone else or stop trying to be part of this war and accept that you'll have to have someone else win your way back home.
no subject
But what she does know for sure is that she doesn't want to give up on Yuri. Fighting alongside him actually makes her oddly comfortable in ways, not to mention he's the only one who's made her so happy at times - she doesn't want to lose that. As selfish as it might be.
It's why, in the end, a slight more defiant part of her wins in the mental battle. ]
Maybe he still needs to get used to it. Or maybe I still need to get used to it, or -- .. or what, Tohno-san? Does all of this matter anything to you to begin with?
[ Of course she starts that attitude the moment she's on the ground with a weapon pointed at her (practice or not). Of course. Dumb Ushiromiya logic all over. ]
You said you'll take him on missions otherwise, but that implies he'd even agree to.
no subject
[Now there's a bit of a jab with the end of the staff.]
Maybe I'd like to have another Meister I know and usually like to watch my back from time to time on tougher missions. [She sneered.] Or maybe I'm just tired of watching you pathetically play damsel in distress to a man that just wants to save someone for a change.
no subject
There's a wince at the jab that shakes her out of those thoughts. ]
I'm not just a damsel in distress..! I've already fought before, it's not like I did nothing during those times! [ She did fight and defeat monsters-- she's tried training so much, even, since she feels like she should catch up to other people here who have more actual combat experience. But of course that also means she'll always lag behind compared to them. ] Just because I've never beaten a Kishin egg doesn't mean I'm pathetic..!

[And with that, Akiha drops the practice staff onto Ange and goes over to scooped the wooden sword off the ground.]
Get up. We're not done.
no subject
Of course. You undoubtedly have more to say while you beat me, don't you? [ But with that she's already moving again to strike - a little harder this time - at Akiha's side. There's some annoyance even now in her tone. ]
no subject
...oh, this was going to hurt.]
No.
[She grunted in pain as she said that, the sword hitting her clean in the side. Her arm immediately wrapped about the length of the sword, locking it in place against her side. If Ange would try to pull it free, she'd have to contest strength against strength to free it.
She never would've done that had it been a real sword, but still she was going to be paying for that for days.]
no subject
In that case she knows she definitely won't get her sword back in a test of strength (she does try, briefly, just wriggling it a little, but she can already feel it's not going to do much good). But the true reason she lets go of the weapon is more half surprise and half that realisation. ]
no subject
It didn't feel like she cracked any ribs, at least.]
no subject
[ Because Ange just can't keep up bitch mode while she's attacking someone she (somewhat..?) gets along with. It's why she just stops now, instead just looking at the other girl. ]
no subject
Yes.
[She stretches the arm up, winces again before frowning, but then picks the sword up. And offers it back to Ange.]
Nothing's broken, and I've done missions with bruised ribs before. I'm fine.
no subject
Let's cut this out for now then. Having bruised ribs during a mission is one thing, but there's no need to force yourself with that during training.
no subject
How's your back?
[She asks this while adjusting her fingerless gloves.]
no subject
It's probably just going to be stiff for a few days. ... No big deal.
no subject
[Gloves adjusted, she hefts the staff onto her shoulder and starts to walk away.]
I hope you learned a few things.
no subject
See you, Tohno-san.
no subject
[She raises a hand in some kind of parting before leaving the training grounds.]
