Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on May 18th.

Accepting is never easy. I'll do what I can to prolong such, but should there be human conflicts, I cannot interfere.

So thou taketh the stance of not interfering with affairs between humans then?

[Well, so did most gods and such she knew, but that was for lack of ability or a need for secrecy in most cases.]

Yes. While we do require their praise and belief, humans cannot grow when they become solely dependent on gods and spirits. We meet, help, and defend them enough that they're aware we are presence, but we have to make sure we're careful. Just recently, I helped them with things here and there. Then again, darkness was spreading over the land and it had to be stopped.

Alright, I think we should practice the double-layer shield weave. I believe I showed it to thee before, yes?

Yes, you did. We weren't exactly ready that first time though.

Let's try it this time, then! I'll guide thee through it.

[Luckily, most of it was just constructing the two shield weaves - then it was just a matter of the supporting structures between them

[Here they go! The weaves are simple enough, but here we go needing to include the support structure in the middle.]

[It comes out pretty well, but obviously took too much time for real use]

[There's only a huff in reply and Amaterasu let's the weave come undone before trying again. Faster... faster... let's go.]

[The downside of Kiriha getting less formal and deferential around Amaterasu is that she was less afraid to be a taskmaster like she usually was with Kazuya. At least the wolf doesn't make as many mistakes as him?]

Good! A lot can be decided in battle by speed and decisiveness - as thou no doubt noticed, this takes more time and effort, so deciding between single and double shield weaves can be the turning point in battle.

I believe the single would be best for immediate counters. I'm capable of moving fast enough to avoid more long range attacks. As for the double weave, it's more like a shield when things get heavy and more people need to be guarded.

Exactly. It's good to remember that dodging is also an option. As thou becometh more proficient with the weave, the amount of time will matter less than the amount of energy, so it will be up to thee to decide what level of protection is necessary against an attack. Stronger attacks might tear through single layers, so it would be necessary to use double or even triple or quadruple layers.

We'll work on those once we get more experience. I don't think trying a triple or quadruple weave now would be wise after the feather weave.

True, true. I only use it myself in the most dire circumstances anyway - things get significantly more complicated after two layers.

I can imagine. It will be using sparingly.

Hopefully we won't be put into a situation where it be necessary. Still, best to be able to and not need it than to need it and not be able to.

Yea, that should be a good set then! And we can try a bit of flying against before finishing up.
