Time: 6am to 9am
Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on May 18th.

[Hopefully, Lezard had enough of a rest by the time Lily returned pushing an empty red wheelbarrow. Because that branch wasn't going to jump into the wheelbarrow on it's own! Plus it's probably about twice as long as the wheelbarrow.]

[He pushed himself to his feet, dusted off.]

And this appears to be a two-person job nonetheless. Shall we?

[If only he would be so cooperative about other things!]

But you seemed so eager to move it on your own earlier...

[She parked the wheelbarrow next to the tree and turned to the branch.]

After nearly giving myself a hernia, I've changed my tune.

[His sleeve swept across his forehead, and he went to one end of the branch.]

A heft on three, right in the wheelbarrow, yes?

Remind me never to sprain an ankle around you. [Not that she would have wanted him to pick her up even if she did.]

Fine.

[Lily pulled on her gardening gloves and grabbed the other end of the branch.]

Come now, I'm sure you would be far more manageable to carry!

[He grabbed hold.]

One. Two... and the number that follows!

[Knees bent, and he heaved.]

I'd rather not find out. Besides, I'm not the one who turns into a book.

[It's a good thing Lily has gotten more used to hauling around bags of old clothes here because the branch is indeed heavy. But it manages to make it into the wheelbarrow. Now, the question is whether they can get it to the shed without it tipping over...]

[Down it goes and he dusts off his hands.]

'Tis unwieldy with its size... does that front end appear to be think enough to snap? Perhaps if broken down slightly, it might bear less of a balance issue.

[Lily glanced over at the branch. It would certainly help with the balance but...]

I reckon not unless you're keeping a saw hidden in your coat.

Alas, the saw is in my other coat.

Then, we'll have to manage without it.

[She grabbed the handles of the wheelbarrow and the end of the branch tipped over into the ground with the first push. Lily let out an exasperated huff and made a mental note never to use Lezard's Weapon form for pruning trees again.]

[lezard_valeth]

Very well!

[He stooped and held up the end of the branch. Perhaps if the wheelbarrow helped carry the bulkier end, they could get it to the shed with reduced grunting and groaning.]

[And she gave the wheelbarrow another push now that the branch was off the ground.]

Let's get this over with.

[Hopefully, without any more mishaps and before any curious pedestrians noticed this awkward procession and started making up more ridiculous rumors...]

And unless you find a demon tree, we're not practicing on trees again.

[He laughed at that. His arms would be sore tomorrow.]

Yes, ma'am!

[But really, they looked beyond silly.]

[Once they got underway, it took about ten minutes to get the wheelbarrow and its burden back to the supply shed. And there were staring passersby and more than a few snickers along the way at this ridiculous spectacle. So much for trying to avoid being seen with that nuisance! By the time they actually got to the shed, Lily's cheeks were burning more from embarrassment than exertion.]

Let's hurry up and put this thing behind the shed.

[Snickers and stares were met with a quick flash of a toothy smile as if he did this every day, all while wishing he could partially transform so that he may set their hair on fire for their insolence.]

[He shifted gears to aid the 'barrow in turning, maneuvering it to move behind the shed.]

I don't suppose we could take the resulting mulch, stuff one of the leaf blowers, and spray the onlookers, hm?

[She gave him a look that might have withered the flowers Amaterasu was so fond of sleeping in. (Well, if her powers had still worked.)]

Are you trying to create more work for me? In case you forget, part of my job is keeping the park tidy. And I reckon this is why you don't have more friends if you keep causing trouble like that.

[With the wheelbarrow in place, she tipped it forward, intending to try to pull it out from under the branch.]

[He held the branch in place to allow for the extraction.]

My dear Lily, do all Texans speak as bluntly, or would I happen to be a special case?

[And she manages to yank it out from under the branch. He can let go now.]

You happen to fall into a certain category of men that inspires bluntness.

A category? [Branch? Dropped.]

I welcome such bluntness. What's a little candidness between friends?

The category of aggravating, patronizing magical men who I trust as far as I can throw and who like to force me into things.

[And she's going to walk around to the front of the shed to put this wheelbarrow away.]

Which is fine by me; I'd hate to be thrown, much less in my weapon form.

[He took that moment when her back was turned to roll his shoulders and wince. Damnable branch.]

I suppose I'll categorize you into my 'blunt, stubborn magical women' category, though I can't imagine it'd be fair as the other in that group is overwhelmingly vain.

[Muttering...]Maybe, I should try throwing the book at those demons one of these days...

[She raised an eyebrow as she fished out the keys to the shed.]

That friend who tried to kill you?

The same. The names she used for me... [He shook his head.]

But it matters not. The calamity sought to claim us all. ...That would technically leave me the sole survivor of Midgard, wouldn't it? Hmmm.

[Yet the faraway look was rather blank. Not even death really seemed to phase him.]

Would you like to share? [She had to wonder what this—Mysty, was it?—called him if she disliked him so much.]

You don't sound like you care much though. [Surely, most would have found the thought of all their friends and family suddenly being gone disturbing.]
