Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on May 18th.

"So I can't help but suspect that they might have goaded them to go to such extremes," concluded the tsukumogami. "Well, perhaps I just do not wish to believe we are truly so hated here."

"They? You mean the...Witches, right?" At least that was what she could recall of what she'd been told of the war before.

"Yes, the ones we're fighting... though honestly, since coming here I've yet to hear much activity from them," she said with a shrug.

"How long have you been here?" Anri hadn't seen much sign of them herself either, but she was also quite aware of just how very new she was to the place.

"I arrived last month," she replied. Almost exactly a month ago, now that she thought of it. "So I suppose it not be too strange that I've not seen them yet, but still..."

"That means they've been laying low for a while. I'm not sure if that's good or not." Because if BREW was still bringing people in, odds were they weren't likely to see an end to the war any time soon.

"Which is why I can't help but think they might be related," said Kiriha. "Though if they be not, then what other schemes they might be up to."

"Somehow I get the feeling not wanting to know isn't going to help." Which was a shame because that was about where she was right now.

"Ignorance may be bliss, but only so long as it lasts - the consequences of it can be far more damaging," warned the tsukumogami.

"I know." Spoken softly, almost as though to herself. She'd seen it first hand, but that didn't change that she'd like to be able to just shut herself off from it all and wait for it to pass.

"Well, it not be like we need to seek it out right now. Just something to be wary of," she eased off, shrugging. Stress didn't really suit her well anyway, and she'd be the first to admit the benefits of relaxation.

"Yes, you're right." She'd rather not seek it out at all, but perhaps she wouldn't have to. If others became impatient, perhaps it would all take care of itself without her.

"So, then what sort of things dost thou enjoy when not so worried?" asked the tsukumogami, moving onto lighter subjects.

"Hmm? Oh..." She actually had to think about that one. She didn't really have hobbies as such, and she'd yet to settle to much of a routine here. "Well...I like walking around the city, I suppose. Not so much here...but I like just being out around people who don't have any reason to bother me."

"So... people-watching?" Kiriha quirks a look; she can't really understand wanting to be around people if you didn't want them to bother you either.

"Not exactly." Since she tended not to watch people too long in general in case they noticed her. "I just...it's better than being at home by myself."

"Then... perhaps with friends? I find too often strangers can be a hassle." Most people were fine, but it only took one being obnoxious... not that Kiriha had much room to speak of such behavior.

"I wouldn't want to be a burden on anyone." No more so than she had to be, at least. Even with the friends she had, she was more inclined towards waiting for their lead than taking initiative for herself.

"If they be friends, I doubt they'd consider spending time with thee a burden," Kiriha assured her. "Art there any of them here from home?"

She'd been all set to brush aside that comment, one she wasn't sure she believed, right up until that last question. She glanced downwards, drawing into herself as she shook her head a little. "No...no, it's just me here]

"I see... and hast thou made any here?" she asked, peering over at the girl curiously.

"I, um..." She hesitated, chewing her lip a little. "I don't know. I mean, I think so...but I don't want to assume anything."

At least, she had people she would like to consider to be her friends but she wasn't yet confident enough to be secure in that.

And then Kiriha grinned.

"Then allow me to be thine first," she said brightly. "Dost thou wish to be mine friend, Anri?"

"Ah..." She blushed a little at that. It had been a long time since anyone had been that direct in befriending her, but perhaps the reminder of someone else wasn't a bad thing. "Um, sure...if you want."

"Then it's settled!" she proclaimed cheerfully. "Now thou dost not have to sit by thineself. And I'd be glad to give thee any advice thou wanteth about being a weapon."

Kiriha was always happy to make new friends; hopefully Anri wouldn't regret accepting the invitation though, with how she might act around those she was familiar with.
