Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on May 18th.

[ Yeah, she's familiar with practical reasons for not having pets. Even if it's different from her own situation, she can understand what Lily's saying. ]

That's good at least then. One less threat towards the quiet of my apartment. [ .. ] Have no other cats been bothering you in this place since that one time?

[Lily shakes her head.] Not lately. Now that you mention it, I haven't seen many in the park recently.

Maybe, they've gone into hiding with the way folks have been acting... [She hoped the vandals that had left the chickens hadn't gotten them.]

[entreats]

Maybe some of the other people here like us decided to take them in for the time being. I know I wouldn't trust any animal to be around free on the street with those rebels around. They'll wreck whatever they can get their hands on, I'm sure.

[ There's no small amount of disdain in her voice. ]

[She nods.] Could be. I imagine there must be some cat lovers out there.

At least, things seem to be quieting down a bit. I'm still not sure what to make of that kidnapping business though. It seems like they went through a lot of trouble but one of my tailor's friends was kidnapped and he told me he hadn't heard anything about a ransom demand. [She frowns, wondering if she should mention what she sensed from the kidnapper's robes. Ange does know that she's a witch but still...]

[entreats]

I guess they were just doing it to rile us up more. [ It hadn't worried her too much when it happened - maybe since nobody she knew well disappeared and she wasn't terribly worried about her own safety either. ]

You know, add some sort of extra threat. If we don't stop working for Shibusen, then that kind of stuff will happen.. something like that.

[vintage_magic]

I guess that's possible.

[She hesitates a moment before glancing around to make sure there isn't anyone too close and dropping her voice.] I felt something odd during the rescue mission though. From one of the kidnapper's robes. Kind of a strange excitement... [She hadn't been sure what to make of it.]

[entreats]

[ .. Huh. She sensed something, so.. she still has some of her powers here then, maybe? It has got to do with her being a witch, or at least, Ange thinks so.. ]

Excitement? .. Well, I guess they must have thought what they were doing was right, so they got excited over it. Something like that.. [ .. ] Although it's weird to feel that at the moment when the rescue mission is going on and the kidnappers' plan was failing.

[Lily shakes her head. This probably needs a bit of explaining, huh?]

It wasn't necessarily what they were feeling at the moment. [Actually, the person wearing it was knocked out.] But over time, clothes take on energy traces of the wearer that can linger even after months or years. I felt a lot of anger and frustration too but I guess that part makes more sense.

[entreats]

.. After years? But then it could just have been a feeling that didn't necessarily come from the kidnappers, but maybe from people who just happened to use those robes before, right?

[ They probably didn't use their own if they wanted to be sneaky.. ]

I suppose that's possible... [She herself was in the business of selling old clothes, most likely garments that had been worn before.]

[She puts a finger to her chin and her face grows a bit distant as she thinks back to that day in the tunnels.] But as far as I could tell, the robes all looked like they were the same color and style. Finding such a large set of them used would have been difficult unless they were dead stock.

[entreats]

So in other words.. you're saying you're pretty sure the emotions came from the kidnappers, huh? [ It's not that weird, she can get their feelings, but.. if Lily though it was weird, then she decides it's probably better to rely on her gut instinct. ]

[Lily nods.] Looks that way. Although I'm still not sure what to think of it. [Maybe, she'll muse over it some more later but she can't think of much else to say on the topic for now.]

[She looks over towards the training area.]

So, how's the training been going? Yuri isn't still complaining about how you hold him, is he? [She stifles a small smile at that last question.]

[entreats]

[ .. ACK. Of course it has to be that of all things, it makes Ange look a little more embarassed in just an instant. ]

N.. no, he hasn't. If he would still do that by now, I'd kick him for sure. [ Huff.. ] I guess I'm getting a little better at least, but I still feel like I'm behind compared to everyone else. [ Normally she wouldn't voice it as easily, but.. it's Lily. Ange trusts her. ]

[Lily can't help a little chuckle when Ange says she would kick him.] He's still annoying, huh?

[But she figures Ange's embarrassment is about her skill level.] I see. I imagine learning to fight with a sword would take some getting used to. Have you not been out on a mission yet?

[entreats]

We've been one a few of those emergency missions before, and we helped out too when the city got attacked. Aside from that I've been on a mission, just not with him. [ That whole plan Akiha set up back then.. ]

So I have some experience, at least. It's still a little weird, but I've had to deal with weirder things in my life, I guess.

[vintage_magic]

Oh, you went on a mission with someone else? Was it more difficult with another Weapon? [That one mission with Bakura hadn't gone that smoothly even though she'd known him much longer...]

[And there's a quirk of an eyebrow.] Were things in your world that strange?

[Sure, being a witch meant you could end up talking to non-human creatures or concocting brews that contained bat wings and blood. But even she found the notion of people turning into swords and such to be among the weirder things she had ever come across.]

[entreats]

Well, it's pretty different using a different Weapon, right? It just.. feels different when you pick it up. Something like that. [ It's difficult to put into words either way, but it's something like that.. maybe it was the difference in her bond with Sion as opposed to the one she has with Yuri. ] And yeah, stuff was pretty weird. It only got that weird a little while before I came here though.

I guess that makes sense. Did they turn into something other than a sword? [Working with Bakura's ten-sided die form had been a bit odd after getting used to the spellbook Lezard transformed into. It was still casting magic but not quite the same.]

Oh? Did the weirdness have something to do with the witches in your world? You said something about fighting them once... [Come to think of it, she had been settling into what she hoped would be a nice normal life until Aidan Rhodes the male witch and Oscar the familiar barged into her shop one afternoon. Now, she couldn't seem to go a month without encountering some demon to be exorcised or witches with malicious intentions.]

[entreats]

Some sort of.. weird staff. I didn't know too much about it, but it worked perfectly to whack zombies over the head with, so I didn't have much to complain about. [ And it's certainly easier to use than a sword, she had to learn about that for ages first and even by now she still isn't the best at it.. ]

As to witches, well.. I guess most people who've heard fairytales about them would understand they have everything to do with weirdness in lives most of the time.

[ Of course she means Lily would understand, given her own nature, but she doesn't say it that explicitly in a public place. ]

I see. I guess that would be easier to use than a sword. [Sort of like how she had to resort to trying to beat those giant scorpions off with a shovel the last time the city got invaded.]

Um, zombies? How long ago was this? It wasn't in Tel Aviv, was it? [Did she and Bakura miss some? There had been conflicting reports about their numbers.]

[A nod.] I reckon so. There certainly are some strange stories about witches. [Even if they're not always true.]

Yeah, it was in Tel Aviv. [ she blinks. ]

Did you read about it on the mission board? Or did you have to do it before too? Not like it was a super difficult mission or anything, I didn't even get hurt by them. They're way too slow.

[She nods.] A friend of mine wanted to try working with me and we went there at the end of last month. But there were conflicting reports about how many of those zombies there were. Some said three and other folks said ten. I guess it was more than just the three we got then...
